Matthew 25:1 | "Then will the Kingdom of the Heavens be found to be like ten bridesmaids who took their torches and went out to meet the bridegroom. | Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. | "Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. |
Matthew 25:2 | Five of them were foolish and five were wise. | And five of them were foolish, and five were wise. | Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. |
Matthew 25:3 | For the foolish, when they took their torches, did not provide themselves with oil; | For the foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them: | Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them, |
Matthew 25:4 | but the wise, besides their torches, took oil in their flasks. | but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. | but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. |
Matthew 25:5 | The bridegroom was a long time in coming, so that meanwhile they all became drowsy and fell asleep. | Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. | Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. |
Matthew 25:6 | But at midnight there is a loud cry, "`The bridegroom! Go out and meet him!' | But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him. | But at midnight there was a cry, 'Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!' |
Matthew 25:7 | "Then all those bridesmaids roused themselves and trimmed their torches. | Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. | Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. |
Matthew 25:8 | "`Give us some of your oil,' said the foolish ones to the wise, `for our torches are going out.' | And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out. | The foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' |
Matthew 25:9 | "`But perhaps,' replied the wise, `there will not be enough for all of us. Go to the shops rather, and buy some for yourselves.' | But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. | But the wise answered, saying, 'What if there will not be enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' |
Matthew 25:10 | "So they went to buy. But meanwhile the bridegroom came; those bridesmaids who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet; and the door was shut. | And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut. | While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. |
Matthew 25:11 | "Afterwards the other bridesmaids came and cried, "`Sir, Sir, open the door to us.' | Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. | Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.' |
Matthew 25:12 | "`In solemn truth I tell you,' he replied, `I do not know you.' | But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. | But he answered, 'Most assuredly I tell you, I don't know you.' |
Matthew 25:13 | "Keep awake therefore; for you know neither the day nor the hour. | Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour. | Watch therefore, for you don't know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. |
Matthew 25:14 | "Why, it is like a man who, when going on his travels, called his bondservants and entrusted his property to their care. | For [it is] as [when] a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. | "For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and delivered his goods to them. |
Matthew 25:15 | To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one to each according to his individual capacity; and then started from home. | And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey. | To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability, and he went on his journey. |
Matthew 25:16 | Without delay the one who had received the five talents went and employed them in business, and gained five more. | Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents. | Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. |
Matthew 25:17 | In the same way he who had the two gained two more. | In like manner he also that [received] the two gained other two. | In like manner he also who got the two gained another two. |
Matthew 25:18 | But the man who had received the one went and dug a hole and buried his master's money. | But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. | But he who received the one went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money. |
Matthew 25:19 | "After a long lapse of time the master of those servants returned, and had a reckoning with them. | Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them. | Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them. |
Matthew 25:20 | The one who had received the five talents came and brought five more, and said, "`Sir, it was five talents that you entrusted to me: see, I have gained five more.' | And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents. | He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.' |
Matthew 25:21 | "`You have done well, good and trustworthy servant,' replied his master; `you have been trustworthy in the management of a little, I will put you in charge of much: share your master's joy.' | His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord. | His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' |
Matthew 25:22 | "The second, who had received the two talents, came and said, "`Sir, it was two talents you entrusted to me: see, I have gained two more.' | And he also that [received] the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents. | He also who got the two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents besides them.' |
Matthew 25:23 | "`Good and trustworthy servant, you have done well,' his master replied; `you have been trustworthy in the management of a little, I will put you in charge of much: share your master's joy.' | His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord. | His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' |
Matthew 25:24 | "But, next, the man who had the one talent in his keeping came and said, "`Sir, I knew you to be a severe man, reaping where you had not sown and garnering what you had not winnowed. | And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter; | He also who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter. |
Matthew 25:25 | So being afraid I went and buried your talent in the ground: there you have what belongs to you.' | and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own. | I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have your own.' |
Matthew 25:26 | "`You wicked and slothful servant,' replied his master, `did you know that I reap where I have not sown, and garner what I have not winnowed? | But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter; | But his lord answered him, 'You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn't sow, and gather where I didn't scatter. |
Matthew 25:27 | Your duty then was to deposit my money in some bank, and so when I came I should have got back my property with interest. | thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest. | You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest. |
Matthew 25:28 | So take away the talent from him, and give it to the man who has the ten.' | Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents. | Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents. |
Matthew 25:29 | (For to every one who has, more shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but from him who has nothing, even what he has shall be taken away.) | For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away. | For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who has not, even that which he has will be taken away. |
Matthew 25:30 | `But as for this worthless servant, put him out into the darkness outside: *there* will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.' | And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. | Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness; there will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.' |
Matthew 25:31 | "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then will He sit upon His glorious throne, | But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory: | "But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then will he sit on the throne of his glory. |
Matthew 25:32 | and all the nations will be gathered into His presence. And He will separate them from one another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; | and before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats; | Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. |
Matthew 25:33 | and will make the sheep stand at His right hand, and the goats at His left. | and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. | He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. |
Matthew 25:34 | "Then the King will say to those at His right, "`Come, my Father's blessed ones, receive your inheritance of the Kingdom which has been divinely intended for you ever since the creation of the world. | Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: | Then the King will tell them on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; |
Matthew 25:35 | For when I was hungry, you gave me food; when I was thirsty, you gave me drink; when I was homeless, you gave me a welcome; | for I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; | for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; |
Matthew 25:36 | when I was ill-clad, you clothed me; when I was sick, you visited me; when I was in prison, you came to see me.' | naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me. | naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.' |
Matthew 25:37 | "`When, Lord,' the righteous will reply, `did we see Thee hungry, and feed Thee; or thirsty, and give Thee drink? | Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or athirst, and gave thee drink? | Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? |
Matthew 25:38 | When did we see Thee homeless, and give Thee a welcome? or ill-clad, and clothe Thee? | And when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? | When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? |

Matthew 25:40 | "But the King will answer them, "`In solemn truth I tell you that in so far as you rendered such services to one of the humblest of these my brethren, you rendered them to myself.' | And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, [even] these least, ye did it unto me. | The King will answer them, 'Most assuredly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' |
Matthew 25:41 | "Then will He say to those at His left, "`Begone from me, with the curse resting upon you, into the Fire of the Ages, which has been prepared for the Devil and his angels. | Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels: | Then will he say also to them on the left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; |
Matthew 25:42 | For when I was hungry, you gave me nothing to eat; when thirsty, you gave me nothing to drink; | for I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink; | for I was hungry, and you didn't give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; |
