| John 15:1 | "I am the Vine the True Vine, and my Father is the vine-dresser. | I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. | If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; as I also have kept my Father's commandments, and do abide in his love. |
| John 15:2 | Every branch in me if it bears no fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. | He takes away every branch in me which has no fruit, and every branch which has fruit he makes clean, so that it may have more fruit. | These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be filled. |
| John 15:3 | Already you are cleansed through the teaching which I have given you. | You are clean, even now, through the teaching which I have given you. | This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. |
| John 15:4 | Continue in me, and let me continue in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself that is, if it does not continue in the vine so neither can you if you do not continue in me. | Be in me at all times as I am in you. As the branch is not able to give fruit of itself, if it is not still on the vine, so you are not able to do so if you are not in me. | Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends. |

| John 15:7 | "If you continue in me and my sayings continue in you, ask what you will and it shall be done for you. | If you are in me at all times, and my words are in you, then anything for which you make a request will be done for you. | You have not chosen me: but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go, and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. |

| John 15:11 | "These things I have spoken to you in order that I may have joy in you, and that your joy may become perfect. | I have said these things to you so that I may have joy in you and so that your joy may be complete. | Remember my word that I said to you: The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also. |

| John 15:16 | It is not you who chose me, but it is I who chose you and appointed you that you might go and be fruitful and that your fruit might remain; so that whatever petition you present to the Father in my name He may give you. | You did not take me for yourselves, but I took you for myself; and I gave you the work of going about and producing fruit which will be for ever; so that whatever request you make to the Father in my name he may give it to you. | But that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law: They hated me without cause. |
| John 15:17 | "Thus I command you to love one another. | So this is my law for you: Have love one for another. | But when the Paraclete cometh, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall give testimony of me. |
| John 15:18 | If the world hates you, remember that it has first had me as the fixed object of its hatred. | If you are hated by the world, keep in mind that I was hated by the world before you. | And you shall give testimony, because you are with me from the beginning. |
| John 15:19 | If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own property. But because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world for that reason the world hates you. | If you were of the world, you would be loved by the world: but because you are not of the world, but I have taken you out of the world, you are hated by the world. | |
| John 15:20 | Bear in mind what I said to you, `A servant is not superior to his master.' If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. | Keep in mind the words I said to you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they were cruel to me, they will be cruel to you; if they kept my words, they will keep yours. | |
| John 15:21 | But they will inflict all this suffering upon you on account of your bearing my name because they do not know Him who sent me. | They will do all this to you because of my name because they have no knowledge of him who sent me. | |
| John 15:22 | "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have had no sin; but as the case stands they are without excuse for their sin. | If I had not come and been their teacher they would have had no sin: but now they have no reason to give for their sin. | |
| John 15:23 | He who hates me hates my Father also. | He who has hate for me has hate for my Father. | |
| John 15:24 | If I had not done among them, as I have, such miracles as no one else ever did, they would have had no sin; but they have in fact seen and also hated both me and my Father. | If I had not done among them the works which no other man ever did, they would have had no sin: but now they have seen, and they have had hate in their hearts for me and my Father. | |
| John 15:25 | But this has been so, in order that the saying may be fulfilled which stands written in their Law, `They have hated me without any reason.' | This comes about so that the writing in their law may be made true, Their hate for me was without cause. | |
| John 15:26 | "When the Advocate is come whom I will send to you from the Father's presence the Spirit of Truth who comes forth from the Father's presence He will be a witness concerning me. | When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father even the Spirit of true knowledge who comes from the Father he will give witness about me; | |
| John 15:27 | And you also are witnesses, because you have been with me from the first. | And you, in addition, will give witness because you have been with me from the first. | |
