Romans 8:1There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus; For this cause those who are in Christ Jesus will not be judged as sinners. There is now therefore no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh.
Romans 8:2for the Spirit's Law telling of Life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the Law that deals only with sin and death. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For the law of the spirit of life, in Christ Jesus, hath delivered me from the law of sin and of death.
Romans 8:3For what was impossible to the Law powerless as it was because it acted through frail humanity God effected. Sending His own Son in a body like that of sinful human nature and as a sacrifice for sin, He pronounced sentence upon sin in human nature;For what the law was not able to do because it was feeble through the flesh, God, sending his Son in the image of the evil flesh, and as an offering for sin, gave his decision against sin in the flesh:For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh; God sending his own Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh and of sin, hath condemned sin in the flesh;
Romans 8:4in order that in our case the requirements of the Law might be fully met. For our lives are regulated not by our earthly, but by our spiritual natures. So that what was ordered by the law might be done in us, who are living, not in the way of the flesh, but in the way of the Spirit. That the justification of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.
Romans 8:5For if men are controlled by their earthly natures, they give their minds to earthly things. If they are controlled by their spiritual natures, they give their minds to spiritual things. For those who are living in the way of the flesh give their minds to the things of the flesh, but those who go in the way of the Spirit, to the things of the Spirit. For they that are according to the flesh, mind the things that are of the flesh; but they that are according to the spirit, mind the things that are of the spirit.
Romans 8:6Because for the mind to be given up to earthly things means death; but for it to be given up to spiritual things means Life and peace. For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:For the wisdom of the flesh is death; but the wisdom of the spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:7Abandonment to earthly things is a state of enmity to God. Such a mind does not submit to God's Law, and indeed cannot do so.Because the mind of the flesh is opposite to God; it is not under the law of God, and is not able to be:Because the wisdom of the flesh is an enemy to God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither can it be.
Romans 8:8And those whose hearts are absorbed in earthly things cannot please God.So that those who are in the flesh are not able to give pleasure to God.And they who are in the flesh, cannot please God.
Romans 8:9You, however, are not devoted to earthly, but to spiritual things, if the Spirit of God is really dwelling in you; whereas if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, such a one does not belong to Him.You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God is in you. But if any man has not the Spirit of Christ he is not one of his.But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Romans 8:10But if Christ is in you, though your body must die because of sin, yet your spirit has Life because of righteousness. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. And if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead, because of sin; but the spirit liveth, because of justification.
Romans 8:11And if the Spirit of Him who raised up Jesus from the dead is dwelling in you, He who raised up Christ from the dead will give Life also to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who dwells in you.But if the Spirit of him who made Jesus come again from the dead is in you, he who made Christ Jesus come again from the dead will in the same way, through his Spirit which is in you, give life to your bodies which now are under the power of death. And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwell in you; he that raised up Jesus Christ from the dead, shall quicken also your mortal bodies, because of his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Romans 8:12Therefore, brethren, it is not to our lower natures that we are under obligation that we should live by their rule.So then, my brothers, we are in debt, not to the flesh to be living in the way of the flesh:Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
Romans 8:13For if you so live, death is near; but if, through being under the sway of the spirit, you are putting your old bodily habits to death, you will live. For if you go in the way of the flesh, death will come on you; but if by the Spirit you put to death the works of the body, you will have life. For if you live according to the flesh, you shall die: but if by the Spirit you mortify the deeds of the flesh, you shall live.
Romans 8:14For those who are led by God's Spirit are, all of them, God's sons. And all those who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God.For whosoever are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Romans 8:15You have not for the second time acquired the consciousness of being a consciousness which fills you with terror. But you have acquired a deep inward conviction of having been adopted as sons a conviction which prompts us to cry aloud, "Abba! our Father!"For you did not get the spirit of servants again to put you in fear, but the spirit of sons was given to you, by which we say, Abba, Father. For you have not received the spirit of bondage again in fear; but you have received the spirit of adoption of sons, whereby we cry: Abba (Father).
Romans 8:16The Spirit Himself bears witness, along with our own spirits, to the fact that we are children of God;The Spirit is witness with our spirit that we are children of God:For the Spirit himself giveth testimony to our spirit, that we are the sons of God.
Romans 8:17and if children, then heirs too heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ; if indeed we are sharers in Christ's sufferings, in order that we may also be sharers in His glory. And if we are children, we have a right to a part in the heritage; a part in the things of God, together with Christ; so that if we have a part in his pain, we will in the same way have a part in his glory. And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God, and joint heirs with Christ: yet so, if we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.
Romans 8:18Why, what we now suffer I count as nothing in comparison with the glory which is soon to be manifested in us.I am of the opinion that there is no comparison between the pain of this present time and the glory which we will see in the future. For I reckon that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with the glory to come, that shall be revealed in us.
Romans 8:19For all creation, gazing eagerly as if with outstretched neck, is waiting and longing to see the manifestation of the sons of God.For the strong desire of every living thing is waiting for the revelation of the sons of God.For the expectation of the creature waiteth for the revelation of the sons of God.
Romans 8:20For the Creation fell into subjection to failure and unreality (not of its own choice, but by the will of Him who so subjected it).For every living thing was put under the power of change, not by its desire, but by him who made it so, in hopeFor the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him that made it subject, in hope:
Romans 8:21Yet there was always the hope that at last the Creation itself would also be set free from the thraldom of decay so as to enjoy the liberty that will attend the glory of the children of God.That all living things will be made free from the power of death and will have a part with the free children of God in glory.Because the creature also itself shall be delivered from the servitude of corruption, into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
Romans 8:22For we know that the whole of Creation is groaning together in the pains of childbirth until this hour. For we are conscious that all living things are weeping and sorrowing in pain together till now.For we know that every creature groaneth and travaileth in pain, even till now.
Romans 8:23And more than that, we ourselves, though we possess the Spirit as a foretaste and pledge of the glorious future, yet we ourselves inwardly sigh, as we wait and long for open recognition as sons through the deliverance of our bodies. And not only so, but we who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we have sorrow in our minds, waiting for the time when we will take our place as sons, that is, the salvation of our bodies. And not only it, but ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption of the sons of God, the redemption of our body.
Romans 8:24It is *in hope* that we have been saved. But an object of hope is such no longer when it is present to view; for when a man has a thing before his eyes, how can he be said to hope for it?For our salvation is by hope: but hope which is seen is not hope: for who is hoping for what he sees? For we are saved by hope. But hope that is seen, is not hope. For what a man seeth, why doth he hope for?
Romans 8:25But if we hope for something which we do not see, then we eagerly and patiently wait for it.But if we have hope for that which we see not, then we will be able to go on waiting for it.But if we hope for that which we see not, we wait for it with patience.
Romans 8:26In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness; for we do not know what prayers to offer nor in what way to offer them. But the Spirit Himself pleads for us in yearnings that can find no words,And in the same way the Spirit is a help to our feeble hearts: for we are not able to make prayer to God in the right way; but the Spirit puts our desires into words which are not in our power to say;Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity. For we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit himself asketh for us with unspeakable groanings.
Romans 8:27and the Searcher of hearts knows what the Spirit's meaning is, because His intercessions for God's people are in harmony with God's will. And he who is the searcher of hearts has knowledge of the mind of the Spirit, because he is making prayers for the saints in agreement with the mind of God.And he that searcheth the hearts, knoweth what the Spirit desireth; because he asketh for the saints according to God.
Romans 8:28Now we know that for those who love God all things are working together for good for those, I mean, whom with deliberate purpose He has called. And we are conscious that all things are working together for good to those who have love for God, and have been marked out by his purpose. And we know that to them that love God, all things work together unto good, to such as, according to his purpose, are called to be saints.
Romans 8:29For those whom He has known beforehand He has also pre-destined to bear the likeness of His Son, that He might be the Eldest in a vast family of brothers;Because those of whom he had knowledge before they came into existence, were marked out by him to be made like his Son, so that he might be the first among a band of brothers:For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be made conformable to the image of his Son; that he might be the firstborn amongst many brethren.
Romans 8:30and those whom He has pre-destined He also has called; and those whom He has called He has also declared free from guilt; and those whom He has declared free from guilt He has also crowned with glory. And those who were marked out by him were named; and those who were named were given righteousness; and to those to whom he gave righteousness, in the same way he gave glory. And whom he predestinated, them he also called. And whom he called, them he also justified. And whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Romans 8:31What then shall we say to this? If God is on our side, who is there to appear against us?What may we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?
Romans 8:32He who did not withhold even His own Son, but gave Him up for all of us, will He not also with Him freely give us all things? He who did not keep back his only Son, but gave him up for us all, will he not with him freely give us all things? He that spared not even his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how hath he not also, with him, given us all things?
Romans 8:33Who shall impeach those whom God has chosen? God declares them free from guilt.Who will say anything against the saints of God? It is God who makes us clear from evil;Who shall accuse against the elect of God? God that justifieth.
Romans 8:34Who is there to condemn them? Christ Jesus died, or rather has risen to life again. He is also at the right hand of God, and is interceding for us.Who will give a decision against us? It is Christ Jesus who not only was put to death, but came again from the dead, who is now at the right hand of God, taking our part.Who is he that shall condemn? Christ Jesus that died, yea that is risen also again; who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Romans 8:35Who shall separate us from Christ's love? Shall affliction or distress, persecution or hunger, nakedness or danger or the sword?Who will come between us and the love of Christ? Will trouble, or pain, or cruel acts, or the need of food or of clothing, or danger, or the sword?Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation? or distress? or famine? or nakedness? or danger? or persecution? or the sword?
Romans 8:36As it stands written in the Scripture, "For Thy sake they are, all day long, trying to kill us. We have been looked upon as sheep destined for slaughter."As it is said in the holy Writings, Because of you we are put to death every day; we are like sheep ready for destruction.(As it is written: For thy sake we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.)
Romans 8:37Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who has loved us.But we are able to overcome all these things and more through his love. But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.
Romans 8:38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither the lower ranks of evil angels nor the higher, neither things present nor things future, nor the forces of nature,For I am certain that not death, or life, or angels, or rulers, or things present, or things to come, or powers,For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor might,
Romans 8:39nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God which rests upon us in Christ Jesus our Lord.Or things on high, or things under the earth, or anything which is made, will be able to come between us and the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
