Mark 1:2As it is written in Isaiah the Prophet, "See, I am sending My messenger before Thee, Who will prepare Thy way";Even as it is said in the book of Isaiah the prophet, See, I send my servant before your face, who will make ready your way;As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
Mark 1:3"The voice of one crying aloud: `In the Desert prepare a road for the Lord: Make His highways straight.'"The voice of one crying in the waste land, Make ready the way of the Lord, make his roads straight;The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Mark 1:4So John the Baptizer came, and was in the Desert proclaiming a baptism of the penitent for forgiveness of sins.John came, and gave baptism in the waste land, preaching baptism as a sign of forgiveness of sin for those whose hearts were changed.John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Mark 1:5There went out to him people of all classes from Judaea, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem of all ranks, and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, making open confession of their sins.And there went out to him all the people of Judaea, and all those of Jerusalem, and they were given baptism by him in the river Jordan, saying that they were sinners.And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.
Mark 1:6As for John, his garment was of camel's hair, and he wore a loincloth of leather; and his food was locusts and wild honey.And John was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather band about him; and his food was locusts and honey.And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;
Mark 1:7His announcement was, "There is One coming after me mightier than I One whose sandal-strap I am unworthy to stoop down and unfasten.And he said to them all, There is one coming after me who is greater than I, whose shoes I am not good enough to undo.And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
Mark 1:8I have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."I have given you baptism with water, but he will give you baptism with the Holy Spirit.I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Mark 1:9At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan;And it came about in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was given baptism by John in the Jordan.And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
Mark 1:10and immediately on His coming up out of the water He saw an opening in the sky, and the Spirit like a dove coming down to Him;And straight away, coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens broken open and the Spirit coming down on him as a dove:And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
Mark 1:11and a voice came from the sky, saying, "Thou art My Son dearly loved: in Thee is My delight."And a voice came out of heaven, You are my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Mark 1:14Then, after John had been thrown into prison, Jesus came into Galilee proclaiming God's Good News.Now after John had been put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the good news of God,Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
Mark 1:15"The time has fully come," He said, "and the Kingdom of God is close at hand: repent, and believe this Good News.And saying, The time has come, and the kingdom of God is near: let your hearts be turned from sin and have faith in the good news.And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Mark 1:16One day, passing along the shore of the Lake of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, Simon's brother, throwing their nets in the Lake; for they were fisherman.And going by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew, the brother of Simon, putting a net into the sea: for they were fishermen.Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
Mark 1:17"Come and follow me," said Jesus, "and I will make you fishers for men."And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
Mark 1:18At once they left their nets and followed Him.And they went straight from their nets, and came after him.And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.
Mark 1:19Going on a little further He saw James the son of Zabdi and his brother John: they also were in the boat mending the nets, and He immediately called them.And going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were in their boat stitching up their nets.And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.
Mark 1:20They therefore left their father Zabdi in the boat with the hired men, and went and followed Him.And he said, Come after me: and they went away from their father Zebedee, who was in the boat with the servants, and came after him.And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
Mark 1:21So they came to Capernaum, and on the next Sabbath He went to the synagogue and began to teach.And they came to Capernaum; and on the Sabbath he went into the Synagogue and gave teaching.And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.
Mark 1:22The people listened with amazement to His teaching for there was authority about it: it was very different from that of the ScribesAnd they were full of wonder at his teaching, because he gave it as one having authority, and not like the scribes.And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
Mark 1:23when all at once, there in their synagogue, a man under the power of a foul spirit screamed out:And there was in their Synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he gave a cry,And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
Mark 1:24"What have you to do with us, Jesus the Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are God's Holy One."Saying, What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to put an end to us? I see well who you are, the Holy One of God.Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
Mark 1:25But Jesus reprimanded him, saying, "Silence! come out of him."And Jesus said to him sharply, Be quiet, and come out of him.And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
Mark 1:26So the foul spirit, after throwing the man into convulsions, came out of him with a loud cry.And the unclean spirit, shaking him violently, and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
Mark 1:27And all were amazed and awe-struck, so they began to ask one another, "What does this mean? Here is a new sort of teaching and a tone of authority! And even to foul spirits he issues orders and they obey him!"And they were all greatly surprised, so that they put questions to one another, saying, What is this? a new teaching! with authority he gives orders even to the unclean spirits, and they do what he says.And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

Mark 1:30Now Simon's mother-in-law was ill in bed with a fever, and without delay they informed Him about her.Now Simon's wife's mother was ill, with a burning heat; and they gave him word of her:But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.
Mark 1:31So He went to her, and taking her hand He raised her to her feet: the fever left her, and she began to wait upon them.And he came and took her by the hand, lifting her up; and she became well, and took care of their needs.And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

Mark 1:33and the whole town was assembled at the door.And all the town had come together at the door.And all the city was gathered together at the door.
Mark 1:34Then He cured numbers of people who were ill with various diseases, and He drove out many demons; not allowing the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.And a number, who were ill with different diseases, he made well, and sent out evil spirits; but he did not let the evil spirits say anything, because they had knowledge of him.And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.
Mark 1:35In the morning He rose early, while it was still quite dark, and leaving the house He went away to a solitary place and there prayed.And in the morning, a long time before daylight, he got up and went out to a quiet place, and there he gave himself up to prayer.And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Mark 1:39And He went through all Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and expelling the demons.And he went into their Synagogues in every part of Galilee, preaching and driving out evil spirits.And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
Mark 1:40One day there came a leper to Jesus entreating Him, and pleading on his knees. "If you are willing," he said, "you are able to cleanse me."And a leper came to him and, going down on his knees before him, made a request, saying, If it is your pleasure, you have the power to make me clean.And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Mark 1:41Moved with pity Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. "I am willing," He said; "be cleansed."And being moved with pity, he put out his hand, and touching him said to him, It is my pleasure; be made clean.And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

Mark 1:43Jesus at once sent him away, strictly charging him,And he sent him away, saying to him very sharply,And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
Mark 1:44and saying, "Be careful not to tell any one, but go and show yourself to the Priest, and for your purification present the offerings that Moses appointed as evidence for them."See that you say nothing to any man: but go and let the priest see you, and make yourself clean by an offering of the things ordered by Moses, for a witness to them.And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
Mark 1:45But the man, when he went out, began to tell every one and to publish the matter abroad, so that it was no longer possible for Jesus to go openly into any town; but He had to remain outside in unfrequented places, where people came to Him from all parts.But he went out, and made it public, giving an account of it everywhere, so that Jesus was no longer able to go openly into a town, but was outside in the waste land; and they came to him from every part.But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
