Matthew 26:45 | Then He came to the disciples and said, "Sleep on and rest. See, the moment is close at hand when the Son of Man is to be betrayed into the hands of sinful men. | Then he comes to the disciples; and says to them, Go on sleeping now, and take your rest: for the hour is come, and the Son of man is given into the hands of evil men. | Then he cometh to his disciples, and saith to them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. |

Matthew 26:54 | In that case how are the Scriptures to be fulfilled which declare that thus it must be?" | But how then would the Writings come true, which say that so it has to be? | But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? |
Matthew 26:55 | Then said Jesus to the crowds, "Have you come out as if to fight with a robber, with swords and bludgeons to apprehend me? Day after day I have been sitting teaching in the Temple, and you did not arrest me. | In that hour Jesus said to the people, Have you come out as against a thief with swords and sticks to take me? I was teaching every day in the Temple and you took me not. | In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staffs to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. |
Matthew 26:56 | But all this has taken place in order that the writings of the Prophets may be fulfilled." At this point the disciples all left Him and fled. | But all this has taken place so that the writings of the prophets might come true. Then all his disciples went from him in flight. | But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled. |

Matthew 26:60 | but they could find none, although many false witnesses came forward. At length there came two | And they were not able to get it, though a number of false witnesses came. | But found none: and, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, |
Matthew 26:61 | who testified, "This man said, `I am able to pull down the Sanctuary of God and three days afterwards to build a new one.'" | But later there came two who said, This man said, I am able to give the Temple of God to destruction, and to put it up again in three days. | And said, This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days. |
Matthew 26:62 | Then the High Priest stood up and asked Him, "Have you no answer to make? What is it these men are saying in evidence against you?" | And the high priest got up and said to him, Have you no answer? what is it which these say against you? | And the high priest arose, and said to him, Answerest thou nothing, what is it which these testify against thee? |
Matthew 26:63 | Jesus however remained silent. Again the High Priest addressed Him. "In the name of the ever-living God," he said, "I now put you on your oath. Tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God." | But Jesus said not a word. And the high priest said to him, I put you on oath, by the living God, that you will say to us if you are the Christ, the Son of God. | But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said to him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ the Son of God. |
Matthew 26:64 | "I am He," replied Jesus. "But I tell you that, later on, you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Omnipotence, and coming on the clouds of the sky." | Jesus says to him, You say so: but I say to you, From now you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven. | Jesus saith to him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. |
Matthew 26:65 | Then the High Priest tore his robes and exclaimed, "Impious language! What further need have we of witnesses! See, you have now heard the impiety. | Then the high priest, violently parting his robes, said, He has said evil against God: what more need have we of witnesses? for now his words against God have come to your ears: | Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy. |
Matthew 26:66 | What is your verdict?" "He deserves to die," they replied. | What is your opinion? They made answer and said, It is right for him to be put to death. | What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death. |
Matthew 26:67 | Then they spat in His face, and struck Him some with the fist, some with the open hand | Then they put shame on him, and were cruel to him: and some gave him blows, saying, | Then they spit in his face, and buffetted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, |
Matthew 26:68 | while they taunted Him, saying, "Christ, prove yourself a Prophet by telling us who it was that struck you." | Be a prophet, O Christ, and say who gave you a blow! | Saying, Prophesy to us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee? |
Matthew 26:69 | Peter meanwhile was sitting outside in the court of the palace, when one of the maidservants came over to him and said, "You too were with Jesus the Galilaean." | Now Peter was seated in the open square outside the house: and a servant-girl came to him, saying, You were with Jesus the Galilaean. | Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came to him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. |
Matthew 26:70 | He denied it before them all, saying, "I do not know what you mean." | But he said before them all that it was false, saying, I have no knowledge of what you say. | But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. |
Matthew 26:71 | Soon afterwards he went out and stood in the gateway, when another girl saw him, and said, addressing the people there, "This man was with Jesus the Nazarene." | And when he had gone out into the doorway, another saw him and says to those who were there, This man was with Jesus the Nazarene. | And when he had gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said to them that were there, This man was also with Jesus of Nazareth. |
Matthew 26:72 | Again he denied it with an oath. "I do not know the man," he said. | And again he said with an oath, I have no knowledge of the man. | And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. |
Matthew 26:73 | A short time afterwards the people standing there came and said to Peter, "Certainly you too are one of them, for your brogue shows it." | And after a little time those who were near came and said to Peter, Truly you are one of them; because your talk is witness against you. | And after a while came to him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech betrayeth thee. |
Matthew 26:74 | Then with curses and oaths he declared, "I do not know the man." Immediately a cock crowed, | Then with curses and oaths he said, I have no knowledge of the man. And straight away there came the cry of a cock. | Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crowed. |
Matthew 26:75 | and Peter recollected the words of Jesus, how He had said, "Before the cock crows you will three times disown me." And he went out and wept aloud, bitterly. | And the word of Jesus came back to Peter, when he said, Before the hour of the cock's cry, you will say three times that you have no knowledge of me. And he went out, weeping bitterly. | And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, who said to him, Before the cock shall crow, thou wilt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. |
