1st-John 2:1Dear children, I write thus to you in order that you may not sin. If any one sins, we have an Advocate with the Father Jesus Christ the righteous;My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may be without sin. And if any man is a sinner, we have a friend and helper with the Father, Jesus Christ, the upright one:My little children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin: and if any one may sin, an advocate we have with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one,
1st-John 2:2and He is an atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.He is the offering for our sins; and not for ours only, but for all the world.and he he is a propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world,
1st-John 2:3And by this we may know that we know Him if we obey His commands.And by this we may be certain that we have knowledge of him, if we keep his laws.and in this we know that we have known him, if his commands we may keep;
1st-John 2:4He who professes to know Him, and yet does not obey His commands, is a liar, and the truth has no place in his heart.The man who says, I have knowledge of him, and does not keep his laws, is false, and there is nothing true in him:he who is saying, `I have known him,` and his command is not keeping, a liar he is, and in him the truth is not;
1st-John 2:5But whoever obeys His Message, in him love for God has in very deed reached perfection. By this we can know that we are in Him.But in every man who keeps his word, the love of God is made complete. By this we may be certain that we are in him:and whoever may keep his word, truly in him the love of God hath been perfected; in this we know that in him we are.
1st-John 2:6The man who professes to be continuing in Him is himself also bound to live as He lived.He who says that he is living in him, will do as he did.He who is saying in him he doth remain, ought according as he walked also himself so to walk.
1st-John 2:7My dearly-loved friends, it is no new command that I am now giving you, but an old command which you have had from the very beginning. By the old command I mean the teaching which you have already received.My loved ones, I do not give you a new law, but an old law which you had from the first; this old law is the word which came to your ears.Brethren, a new command I write not to you, but an old command, that ye had from the beginning the old command is the word that ye heard from the beginning;
1st-John 2:8And yet I *am* giving you a new command, for such it really is, so far as both He and you are concerned: because the darkness is now passing away and the light, the true light, is already beginning to shine.Again, I give you a new law, which is true in him and in you; for the night is near its end and the true light is even now shining out.again, a new command I write to you, which thing is true in him and in you, because the darkness doth pass away, and the true light doth now shine;
1st-John 2:9Any one who professes to be in the light and yet hates his brother man is still in darkness.He who says that he is in the light, and has hate in his heart for his brother, is still in the dark.he who is saying, in the light he is, and his brother is hating, in the darkness he is till now;
1st-John 2:10He who loves his brother man continues in the light, and his life puts no stumbling-block in the way of others.He who has love for his brother is in the light, and there is no cause of error in him.he who is loving his brother, in the light he doth remain, and a stumbling-block in him there is not;
1st-John 2:11But he who hates his brother man is in darkness and is walking in darkness; and he does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.But he who has hate for his brother is in the dark, walking in the dark with no knowledge of where he is going, unable to see because of the dark.and he who is hating his brother, in the darkness he is, and in the darkness he doth walk, and he hath not known whither he doth go, because the darkness did blind his eyes.
1st-John 2:12I am writing to you, dear children, because for His sake your sins are forgiven you.I am writing to you, my children, because you have forgiveness of sins through his name.I write to you, little children, because the sins have been forgiven you through his name;
1st-John 2:13I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has existed from the very beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the Evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father.I am writing to you, fathers, because you have knowledge of him who was from the first. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the Evil One. I have sent a letter to you, children, because you have knowledge of the Father.I write to you, fathers, because ye have known him who [is] from the beginning; I write to you, young men, because ye have overcome the evil. I write to you, little youths, because ye have known the Father:
1st-John 2:14I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has existed from the very beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong and God's Message still has a place in your hearts, and you have overcome the Evil one.I have sent a letter to you, fathers, because you have knowledge of him who was from the first. I have sent a letter to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God is in you, and because you have overcome the Evil One.I did write to you, fathers, because ye have known him who [is] from the beginning; I did write to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God in you doth remain, and ye have overcome the evil.
1st-John 2:15Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If any one loves the world, there is no love in his heart for the Father.Have no love for the world or for the things which are in the world. If any man has love for the world, the love of the Father is not in him.Love not ye the world, nor the things in the world; if any one doth love the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
1st-John 2:16For the things in the world the cravings of the earthly nature, the cravings of the eyes, the show and pride of life they all come, not from the Father, but from the world.Because everything in the world, the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but of the world.because all that [is] in the world the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes, and the ostentation of the life is not of the Father, but of the world,
1st-John 2:17And the world, with its cravings, is passing away, but he who does God's will continues for ever.And the world and its desires is coming to an end: but he who does God's pleasure is living for ever.and the world doth pass away, and the desire of it, and he who is doing the will of God, he doth remain to the age.
1st-John 2:18Dear children, the last hour has come; and as you once heard that there was to be an anti-Christ, so even now many anti-Christs have appeared. By this we may know that the last hour has come.Little children, it is the last hour; and as you were given word that the Antichrist would come, so now a number of Antichrists have come to you; and by this we are certain that it is the last hour.Little youths, it is the last hour; and even as ye heard that the antichrist doth come, even now antichrists have become many whence we know that it is the last hour;
1st-John 2:19They have gone forth from our midst, but they did not really belong to us; for had they belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But they left us that it might be manifest that professed believers do not all belong to us.They went out from us but they were not of us; if they had been of us they would still be with us: but they went out from us so that it might be made clear that they were not of us.out of us they went forth, but they were not of us, for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but that they might be manifested that they are not all of us.
1st-John 2:20As for you, you have an anointing from the holy One and have perfect knowledge.And you have the Spirit from the Holy One and you all have knowledge.And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and have known all things;
1st-John 2:21I have written to you, not because you are ignorant of the truth, but because you know it, and you know that nothing false comes from the truth.I have not sent you this letter because you have no knowledge of what is true, but because you have knowledge, and because that which is false has nothing in common with that which is true.I did not write to you because ye have not known the truth, but because ye have known it, and because no lie is of the truth.
1st-John 2:22Who is a liar compared with him who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He who disowns the Father and the Son is the anti-Christ.Who is false but he who says that Jesus is not the Christ? He is the Antichrist who has no belief in the Father or the Son.Who is the liar, except he who is denying that Jesus is the Christ? this one is the antichrist who is denying the Father and the Son;
1st-John 2:23No one who disowns the Son has the Father. He who acknowledges the Son has also the Father.He who has no belief in the Son has not the Father: he who makes clear his belief in the Son has the Father.every one who is denying the Son, neither hath he the Father, [he who is confessing the Son hath the Father also.]
1st-John 2:24As for you, let the teaching which you have received from the very beginning continue in your hearts. If that teaching does continue in your hearts, you also will continue to be in union with the Son and with the Father.But as for you, keep in your hearts the things which were made clear to you from the first. If you keep these things in your hearts you will be kept in the Father and the Son.Ye, then, that which ye heard from the beginning, in you let it remain; if in you may remain that which from the beginning ye did hear, ye also in the Son and in the Father shall remain,
1st-John 2:25And this is the promise which He Himself has given us the Life of the Ages.And this is the hope which he gave you, even eternal life.and this is the promise that He did promise us the life the age-during.
1st-John 2:26I have thus written to you concerning those who are leading you astray.I am writing these things to you about those whose purpose is that you may be turned out of the true way.These things I did write to you concerning those leading you astray;
1st-John 2:27And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him remains within you, and there is no need for any one to teach you. But since His anointing gives you instruction in all things and is true and is no falsehood you are continuing in union with Him even as it has taught you to do.As for you, the Spirit which he gave you is still in you, and you have no need of any teacher; but as his Spirit gives you teaching about all things, and is true and not false, so keep your hearts in him, through the teaching which he has given you.and you, the anointing that ye did receive from him, in you it doth remain, and ye have no need that any one may teach you, but as the same anointing doth teach you concerning all, and is true, and is not a lie, and even as was taught you, ye shall remain in him.
1st-John 2:28And now, dear children, continue in union with Him; so that, if He re-appears, we may have perfect confidence, and may not shrink away in shame from His presence at His Coming.And now, my children, keep your hearts in him; so that at his revelation, we may have no fear or shame before him at his coming.And now, little children, remain in him, that when he may be manifested, we may have boldness, and may not be ashamed before him, in his presence;
1st-John 2:29Since you know that He is righteous, be assured also that the man who habitually acts righteously is a child of His.If you have knowledge that he is upright, it is clear to you that everyone who does righteousness is his offspring.if ye know that he is righteous, know ye that every one doing the righteousness, of him hath been begotten.
