| 1st-John 2:1 | Dear children, I write thus to you in order that you may not sin. If any one sins, we have an Advocate with the Father Jesus Christ the righteous; | My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may be without sin. And if any man is a sinner, we have a friend and helper with the Father, Jesus Christ, the upright one: | My little children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin: and if any one may sin, an advocate we have with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one, |
| 1st-John 2:2 | and He is an atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. | He is the offering for our sins; and not for ours only, but for all the world. | and he he is a propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world, |
| 1st-John 2:3 | And by this we may know that we know Him if we obey His commands. | And by this we may be certain that we have knowledge of him, if we keep his laws. | and in this we know that we have known him, if his commands we may keep; |

By this we can know that we are in Him. | But in every man who keeps his word, the love of God is made complete. By this we may be certain that we are in him: | and whoever may keep his word, truly in him the love of God hath been perfected; in this we know that in him we are. |
