| Luke 18:1 | He also taught them by a parable that they must always pray and never lose heart. | And he spoke also a parable to them to the purport that they should always pray and not faint, | And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint; |
| Luke 18:2 | "In a certain town," He said, "there was a judge who had no fear of God and no respect for man. | saying, There was a judge in a city, not fearing God and not respecting man: | saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, and regarded not man: |
| Luke 18:3 | And in the same town was a widow who repeatedly came and entreated him, saying, "`Give me justice and stop my oppressor.' | and there was a widow in that city, and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of mine adverse party. | and there was a widow in that city; and she came oft unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. |
| Luke 18:4 | "For a time he would not, but afterwards he said to himself, "`Though I have neither reverence for God nor respect for man, | And he would not for a time; but afterwards he said within himself, If even I fear not God and respect not man, | And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; |
| Luke 18:5 | yet because she annoys me I will give her justice, to prevent her from constantly coming to pester me.'" | at any rate because this widow annoys me I will avenge her, that she may not by perpetually coming completely harass me. | yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest she wear me out by her continual coming. |
