Luke 4:2tempted all the while by the Devil. During those days He ate nothing, and at the close of them He suffered from hunger.forty days, tempted of the devil; and in those days he did not eat anything, and when they were finished he hungered. For forty days, being tested by the Evil One. And he had no food in those days; and when they came to an end, he was in need of food.

Luke 4:5The Devil next led Him up and caused Him to see at a glance all the kingdoms of the world. And [the devil], leading him up into a high mountain, shewed him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time. And he took him up and let him see all the kingdoms of the earth in a minute of time.
Luke 4:6And the Devil said to Him, "To you will I give all this authority and this splendour; for it has been handed over to me, and on whomsoever I will I bestow it.And the devil said to him, I will give thee all this power, and their glory; for it is given up to me, and to whomsoever I will I give it.And the Evil One said, I will give you authority over all these, and the glory of them, for it has been given to me, and I give it to anyone at my pleasure.
Luke 4:7If therefore you do homage to me, it shall all be yours.'If therefore *thou* wilt do homage before me, all [of it] shall be thine. If then you will give worship to me, it will all be yours.
Luke 4:8Jesus answered him, "It is written, `To the Lord thy God thou shalt do homage, and to Him alone shalt thou render worship.'"And Jesus answering him said, It is written, Thou shalt do homage to [the] Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou serve. And Jesus in answer said to him, It has been said in the Writings, Give worship to the Lord your God, and be his servant only.
Luke 4:9Then he brought Him to Jerusalem and caused Him to stand on the roof of the Temple, and said to Him, "If you are God's Son, throw yourself down from here; for it is written,And he led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the edge of the temple, and said to him, If thou be Son of God, cast thyself down hence; And he took him to Jerusalem and put him on the highest point of the Temple and said to him, If you are the Son of God, let yourself go down from here; for it is said in the Writings,
Luke 4:10`He will give orders to His angels concerning thee, to guard thee safely;'for it is written, He shall give charge to his angels concerning thee to keep thee;He will give his angels orders to take care of you:

Upon this, the demon hurled the man into the midst of them, and came out of him without doing him any harm. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out from him. And the demon, having thrown him down into the midst, came out from him without doing him any injury. And Jesus said to him, Be quiet, and come out of him.
