Mark 11:1When they were getting near Jerusalem and had arrived at Bethphage and Bethany, on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples on in front, with these instructions. And when they draw near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sends two of his disciples,And when they came near to Jerusalem, to Beth-phage and Bethany, at the Mountain of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
Mark 11:2"Go," He said, "to the village facing you, and immediately on entering it you will find an ass's foal tied up which no one has ever yet ridden: untie him and bring him here.and says to them, Go into the village which is over against you, and immediately on entering into it ye will find a colt tied, upon which no [child] of man has ever sat: loose it and lead it [here].And said to them, Go into the little town opposite: and when you come to it, you will see a young ass with a cord round his neck, on which no man has ever been seated; let him loose, and come back with him.
Mark 11:3And if any one asks you, `Why are you doing that?' say, `The Master needs it, and will send it back here without delay.'"And if any one say to you, Why do ye this? say, The Lord has need of it; and straightway he sends it hither. And if anyone says to you, Why are you doing this? say, The Lord has need of him and will send him back straight away.
Mark 11:4So they went and found a young ass tied up at the front door of a house. They were untying it,And they departed, and found a colt bound to the door without at the crossway, and they loose him.And they went away and saw a young ass by the door outside in the open street; and they were getting him loose.
Mark 11:5when some of the bystanders called out, "What are you doing, untying the foal?"And some of those who stood there said to them, What are ye doing, loosing the colt? And some of those who were there said to them, What are you doing, taking the ass?
Mark 11:6But on their giving the answer that Jesus had bidden them give, they let them take it.And they said to them as Jesus had commanded. And they let them [do it].And they said to them the words which Jesus had said; and they let them go.
Mark 11:7So they brought the foal to Jesus, and threw their outer garments over him; and Jesus mounted. And they led the colt to Jesus, and cast their clothes upon it, and he sat on it;And they took the young ass to Jesus, and put their clothing on him, and he got on his back.
Mark 11:8Then many spread their outer garments to carpet the road, and others leafy branches which they had cut down in the fields;and many strewed their clothes on the way, and others cut down branches from the trees [and went on strewing them on the way].And a great number put down their clothing in the way; and others put down branches which they had taken from the fields.
Mark 11:9while those who led the way and those who followed kept shouting "God save Him!" Blessed be He who comes in the Lord's name. And those going on before and those following cried out, Hosanna! blessed [be] he that comes in [the] Lord's name. And those who went in front, and those who came after, were crying, Glory: A blessing on him who comes in the name of the Lord:
Mark 11:10Blessings on the coming Kingdom of our forefather David! God in the highest Heavens save Him!"Blessed [be] the coming kingdom of our father David. Hosanna in the highest!A blessing on the coming kingdom of our father David: Glory in the highest.
Mark 11:11So He came into Jerusalem and into the Temple; and after looking round upon everything there, the hour being now late He went out to Bethany with the Twelve. And he entered into Jerusalem and into the temple; and having looked round on all things, the hour being already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve. And he went into Jerusalem into the Temple; and after looking round about on all things, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
Mark 11:12The next day, after they had left Bethany, He was hungry. And on the morrow, when they were gone out of Bethany, he hungered. And on the day after, when they had come out from Bethany, he was in need of food.
Mark 11:13But in the distance He saw a fig-tree in full leaf, and went to see whether perhaps He could find some figs on it. When however He came to it, He found nothing but leaves (for it was not fig time); And seeing from afar off a fig-tree which had leaves, he came, if perhaps he might find something on it. And having come up to it he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the time of figs. And seeing a fig-tree in the distance with leaves, he went to see if by chance it had anything on it: and when he came to it, he saw nothing but leaves, for it was not the time for the fruit.
Mark 11:14and He said to the tree, "Let no one ever again eat fruit from thee!" And His disciples heard this. And answering he said to it, Let no one eat fruit of thee any more for ever. And his disciples heard [it].And he said to it, Let no man take fruit from you for ever. And his disciples took note of his words.
Mark 11:15They reached Jerusalem, and entering the Temple He began to drive out the buyers and sellers, and upset the money-changers' tables and the stools of the pigeon-dealers,And they come to Jerusalem, and entering into the temple, he began to cast out those who sold and who bought in the temple, and he overthrew the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of the dove-sellers,And they came to Jerusalem; and he went into the Temple, and sent out those who were trading there, overturning the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who were offering doves for money;
Mark 11:16and would not allow any one to carry anything through the Temple.and suffered not that any one should carry any package through the temple. And he would not let any man take a vessel through the Temple.
Mark 11:17And He remonstrated with them. "Is it not written," He said, "`My House shall be called The House of Prayer for all the nations?' But you have made it what it now is a robbers' cave."And he taught saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? but *ye* have made it a den of robbers. And he gave them teaching, and said to them, Is it not in the Writings, My house is to be named a house of prayer for all the nations? but you have made it a hole of thieves.
Mark 11:18This the High Priests and Scribes heard, and they began to devise means to destroy Him. For they were afraid of Him, because of the deep impression produced on all the people by His teaching. And the chief priests and the scribes heard [it], and they sought how they might destroy him; for they feared him, because all the crowd were astonished at his doctrine. And it came to the ears of the chief priests and scribes, and they took thought how they might put him to death; being in fear of him, because all the people were full of wonder at his teaching.
Mark 11:19When evening came on, Jesus and His disciples used to leave the city. And when it was evening he went forth without the city. And every evening he went out of the town.
Mark 11:20In the early morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig-tree withered to the roots; And passing by early in the morning they saw the fig-tree dried up from the roots. And when they were going by in the morning, they saw the fig-tree dead from the roots.
Mark 11:21and Peter, recollecting, said to Him, "Look, Rabbi, the fig-tree which you cursed is withered up."And Peter, remembering [what Jesus had said], says to him, Rabbi, see, the fig-tree which thou cursedst is dried up.And Peter, having a memory of it, said to him, Master, see, the tree which was cursed by you is dead.
Mark 11:22Jesus said to them, "Have faith in God.And Jesus answering says to them, Have faith in God.And Jesus, answering, said to them, Have God's faith.
Mark 11:23In solemn truth I tell you that if any one shall say to this mountain, `Remove, and hurl thyself into the sea,' and has no doubt about it in his heart, but stedfastly believes that what he says will happen, it shall be granted him.Verily I say to you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain, Be thou taken away and cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but believe that what he says takes place, whatever he shall say shall come to pass for him.Truly I say to you, Whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and be put into the sea; and has no doubt in his heart, but has faith that what he says will come about, he will have his desire.
Mark 11:24That is why I tell you, as to whatever you pray and make request for, if you believe that you have received it it shall be yours. For this reason I say to you, All things whatsoever ye pray for and ask, believe that ye receive it, and it shall come to pass for you.For this reason I say to you, Whatever you make a request for in prayer, have faith that it has been given to you, and you will have it.
Mark 11:25But whenever you stand praying, if you have a grievance against any one, forgive it, so that your Father in Heaven may also forgive you your offences."And when ye stand praying, forgive if ye have anything against any one, that your Father also who is in the heavens may forgive you your offences. And whenever you make a prayer, let there be forgiveness in your hearts, if you have anything against anyone; so that you may have forgiveness for your sins from your Father who is in heaven.
Mark 11:26[]But if *ye* do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in the heavens forgive your offences.[]
Mark 11:27They came again to Jerusalem; and as He was walking in the Temple, the High Priests, Scribes and Elders came to HimAnd they come again to Jerusalem. And as he walked about in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders come to him,And they came again to Jerusalem: and while he was walking in the Temple, there came to him the chief priests and the scribes and those in authority:
Mark 11:28and asked, "By what authority are you doing these things? and who gave you authority to do them?"and they say to him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority, that thou shouldest do these things? And they said to him, By what authority do you do these things? or who gave you authority to do these things?
Mark 11:29"And I will put a question to you," replied Jesus; "answer me, and then I will tell you by what authority I do these things. And Jesus answering said to them, *I* also will ask you one thing, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things:And Jesus said to them, I will put to you one question; give me an answer, and I will say by what authority I do these things.
Mark 11:30John's Baptism was it of Heavenly or of human origin? Answer me."The baptism of John, was it of heaven, or of men? answer me.The baptism of John, was it from heaven or from men? give me an answer.
Mark 11:31So they debated the matter with one another. "Suppose we say, `Heavenly,'" they argued, "he will ask, `Why then did you not believe him?'And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we should say, Of heaven, he will say, Why [then] have ye not believed him?And they gave thought to it among themselves, saying, If we say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did you not have faith in him?
Mark 11:32Or should we say, `human?'" They were afraid of the people; for all agreed in holding John to have been really a Prophet.but should we say, Of men they feared the people; for all held of John that he was truly a prophet. But if we say, From men they were in fear of the people, because all took John to be truly a prophet.
Mark 11:33So they answered Jesus, "We do not know." "Nor do I tell you," said Jesus, "by what authority I do these things."And they answering say to Jesus, We do not know. And Jesus [answering] says to them, Neither do *I* tell you by what authority I do these things. And they said in answer to Jesus, We have no idea. And Jesus said to them, And I will not say to you by what authority I do these things.
