Titus 3:1Remind people that they must submit to the rulers who are in authority over them; that they must obey the magistrates, be prepared for every right action,Put them in mind to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient to rule, to be ready to do every good work,Admonish them to be subject to princes and powers, to obey at a word, to be ready to every good work.
Titus 3:2not speak evil of any one, nor be contentious, but yield unselfishly to others and constantly manifest a forgiving spirit towards all men.to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, [to be] mild, shewing all meekness towards all men.To speak evil of no man, not to be litigious, but gentle: shewing all mildness towards all men.
Titus 3:3For there was a time when we also were deficient in understanding, obstinate, deluded, the slaves of various cravings and pleasures, spending our lives in malice and envy, hateful ourselves and hating one another.For we were once ourselves also without intelligence, disobedient, wandering in error, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.For we ourselves also were some time unwise, incredulous, erring, slaves to divers desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
Titus 3:4But when the goodness of God our Saviour, and His love to man, dawned upon us, not in consequence of things which we,But when the kindness and love to man of our Saviour God appeared,But when the goodness and kindness of God our Savior appeared:
Titus 3:5as righteous men, had done, but as the result of His own mercy He saved us by means of the bath of regeneration and the renewal of our natures by the Holy Spirit,not on the principle of works which [have been done] in righteousness which *we* had done, but according to his own mercy he saved us through [the] washing of regeneration and renewal of [the] Holy Spirit,Not by the works of justice, which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the laver of regeneration, and renovation of the Holy Ghost;
Titus 3:6which He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;which he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;Whom he hath poured forth upon us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Savior:
Titus 3:7in order that having been declared righteous through His grace we might become heirs to the Life of the Ages in fulfilment of our hopes.that, having been justified by *his* grace, we should become heirs according to [the] hope of eternal life.That, being justified by his grace, we may be heirs, according to hope of life everlasting.
Titus 3:8This is a faithful saying, and on these various points I would have you insist strenuously, in order that those who have their faith fixed on God may be careful to set an example of good actions. For these are not only good in themselves, but are also useful to mankind.The word [is] faithful, and I desire that thou insist strenuously on these things, that they who have believed God may take care to pay diligent attention to good works. These things are good and profitable to men.It is a faithful saying: and these things I will have thee affirm constantly: that they, who believe in God, may be careful to excel in good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Titus 3:9But hold yourself aloof from foolish controversies and pedigrees and discussions and wrangling about the Law, for they are useless and vain.But foolish questions, and genealogies, and strifes, and contentions about the law, shun; for they are unprofitable and vain.But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law. For they are unprofitable and vain.
Titus 3:10After a first and second admonition, have nothing further to do with any one who will not be taught;An heretical man after a first and second admonition have done with,A man that is a heretic, after the first and second admonition, avoid:
Titus 3:11for, as you know, a man of that description has turned aside from the right path and is a sinner self-condemned.knowing that such a one is perverted, and sins, being self-condemned.Knowing that he, that is such an one, is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned by his own judgment.
Titus 3:12After I have sent Artemas or Tychicus to you, lose no time in joining me at Nicopolis; for I have decided to pass the winter there.When I shall send Artemas to thee, or Tychicus, use diligence to come to me to Nicopolis; for I have decided to winter there.When I shall send to thee Artemas or Tychicus, make haste to come unto me to Nicopolis. For there I have determined to winter.
Titus 3:13Help Zenas the lawyer forward on his journey with special care, and Apollos, so that they may have all they require.Zenas the lawyer and Apollos set forward diligently on their way, that nothing may be lacking to them;Send forward Zenas, the lawyer, and Apollo, with care, that nothing be wanting to them.
Titus 3:14And let our people too learn to set a good example in following honest occupations for the supply of their necessities, so that they may not live useless lives.and let ours also learn to apply themselves to good works for necessary wants, that they may not be unfruitful.And let our men also learn to excel in good works for necessary uses: that they be not unfruitful.
Titus 3:15Every one here sends you greeting. Greet the believers who hold us dear. May grace be with you all.All with me salute thee. Salute those who love us in [the] faith. Grace [be] with you all.All that are with me salute thee: salute them that love us in the faith. The grace of God be with you all. Amen.
