Luke 21:1Looking up He saw the people throwing their gifts into the Treasury the rich people.And he looked up and saw the rich casting their gifts into the treasury;He looked up, and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury.
Luke 21:2He also saw a poor widow dropping in two farthings,but he saw also a certain poor widow casting therein two mites.He saw a certain poor widow casting in two lepta.
Luke 21:3and He said, "In truth I tell you that this widow, so poor, has thrown in more than any of them.And he said, Verily I say unto you, that this poor widow has cast in more than all;He said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them,
Luke 21:4For from what they could well spare they have all of them contributed to the offerings, but she in her need has thrown in all she had to live on."for all these out of their abundance have cast into the gifts [of God]; but she out of her need has cast in all the living which she had.for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her lack, put in all that she had to live on."
Luke 21:5When some were remarking about the Temple, how it was embellished with beautiful stones and dedicated gifts, He said,And as some spoke of the temple, that it was adorned with goodly stones and consecrated offerings, he said,As some were talking about the temple and how it was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts, he said,
Luke 21:6"As to these things which you now admire, the time is coming when there will not be one stone left here upon another which will not be pulled down."[As to] these things which ye are beholding, days are coming in which there shall not be left stone upon stone which shall not be thrown down."As for these things which you see, the days will come, in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down."
Luke 21:7"Rabbi, when will this be?" they asked Him, "and what will be the token given when these things are about to take place?"And they asked him saying, Teacher, when then shall these things be; and what [is] the sign when these things are going to take place?They asked him, "Teacher, when therefore will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?"
Luke 21:8"See to it," He replied, "that you are not misled; for many will come assuming my name and professing, `I am He,' or saying, `The time is close at hand.' Do not go and follow them.And he said, See that ye be not led astray, for many shall come in my name, saying, *I* am [he], and the time is drawn nigh: go ye not [therefore] after them.He said, "Watch out that you don't get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, 'I AM,' and, 'The time is at hand.' Therefore don't follow them.
Luke 21:9But when you hear of wars and turmoils, be not afraid; for these things must happen first, but the end does not come immediately."And when ye shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end is not immediately.When you hear of wars and disturbances, don't be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won't come immediately."
Luke 21:10Then He said to them, "Nation will rise in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.Then he said to them, Nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
Luke 21:11And there will be great earthquakes, and in places famines and pestilence; and there will be terrible sights and wonderful tokens from Heaven.there shall be both great earthquakes in different places, and famines and pestilences; and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.
Luke 21:12"But before all these things happen they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you up to synagogues and to prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my sake.But before all these things they shall lay their hands upon you and persecute you, delivering [you] up to synagogues and prisons, bringing [you] before kings and governors on account of my name;But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake.
Luke 21:13In the end all this will be evidence of your fidelity.but it shall turn out to you for a testimony.It will turn out as a testimony to you.
Luke 21:14"Make up your minds, however, not to prepare a defence beforehand,Settle therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand [your] defence,Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer,
Luke 21:15for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to withstand or reply to.for *I* will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your opposers shall not be able to reply to or resist.for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.
Luke 21:16You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives, friends; and some of you they will put to death.But ye will be delivered up even by parents and brethren and relations and friends, and they shall put to death [some] from among you,But you will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. Some of you will they cause to be put to death.
Luke 21:17You will be the objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name;and ye will be hated of all for my name's sake.You will be hated by all men for my name's sake.
Luke 21:18and yet not a hair of your heads shall perish.And a hair of your head shall in no wise perish.Not a hair of your head will perish.
Luke 21:19By your patient endurance you will purchase your lives.By your patient endurance gain your souls.By your endurance you will win your souls.
Luke 21:20"But when you see Jerusalem with armies encamping round her on every side, then be certain that her overthrow is close at hand.But when ye see Jerusalem encompassed with armies, then know that its desolation is drawn nigh."But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand.
Luke 21:21Then let those who shall be in Judaea escape to the hills; let those who are in the city leave it, and those who are in the country not enter in.Then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of it depart out, and those who are in the country not enter into it;Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let them who are in the midst of her depart. Don't let those who are in the country enter therein.
Luke 21:22For those are the days of vengeance and of fulfilling all that is written.for these are days of avenging, that all the things that are written may be accomplished.For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Luke 21:23"Alas for the women who at that time are with child or who have infants; for there will be great distress in the land, and anger towards this People.But woe to them that are with child and to them who give suck in those days, for there shall be great distress upon the land and wrath upon this people.Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people.
Luke 21:24They will fall by the sword, or be carried off into slavery among all the Gentiles. And Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles, till the appointed times of the Gentiles have expired.And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of [the] nations until [the] times of [the] nations be fulfilled.They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
Luke 21:25"There will be signs in sun, moon, and stars; and on earth anguish among the nations in their bewilderment at the roaring of the sea and its billows;And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations in perplexity [at] the roar of the sea and rolling waves,There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;
Luke 21:26while men's hearts are fainting for fear, and for anxious expectation of what is coming on the world. For the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.men ready to die through fear and expectation of what is coming on the habitable earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Luke 21:27And then will they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and glory.And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Luke 21:28But when all this is beginning to take place, grieve no longer. Lift up your heads, because your deliverance is drawing near."But when these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws nigh.But when these things begin to happen, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near."
Luke 21:29And He spoke a parable to them. "See," He said, "the fig-tree and all the trees.And he spoke a parable to them: Behold the fig-tree and all the trees;He told them a parable. "See the fig tree, and all the trees.
Luke 21:30As soon as they have shot out their leaves, you know at a glance that summer is now near.when they already sprout, ye know of your own selves, [on] looking [at them], that already the summer is near.When they are already budding, you see it and know by your own selves that the summer is already near.
Luke 21:31So also, when you see these things happening, you may be sure that the Kingdom of God is near.So also *ye*, when ye see these things take place, know that the kingdom of God is near.Even so you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
Luke 21:32I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall in no wise pass away until all come to pass.Most assuredly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things are accomplished.
Luke 21:33Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away.Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.
Luke 21:34"But take heed to yourselves, lest your souls be weighed down with self-indulgence and drunkenness or the anxieties of this life, and that day come upon you, suddenly, like a falling trap;But take heed to yourselves lest possibly your hearts be laden with surfeiting and drinking and cares of life, and that day come upon you suddenly unawares;"So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.
Luke 21:35for it will come on all dwellers on the face of the whole earth.for as a snare shall it come upon all them that dwell upon the face of the whole earth.For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth.
Luke 21:36But beware of slumbering; and every moment pray that you may be fully strengthened to escape from all these coming evils, and to take your stand in the presence of the Son of Man."Watch therefore, praying at every season, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things which are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.Therefore be watchful all the time, asking that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."
Luke 21:37His habit at this time was to teach in the Temple by day, but to go out and spend the night on the Mount called the Oliveyard.And by day he was teaching in the temple, and by night, going out, he remained abroad on the mountain called [the mount] of Olives;Every day Jesus was teaching in the temple, and every night he went out, and spent the night on the mountain that is called Olivet.
Luke 21:38And all the people came to Him in the Temple, early in the morning, to listen to Him.and all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple to hear him.All the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, to hear him.
