Titus 2:1But as for you, you must speak in a manner that befits wholesome teaching.But speak thou the things that become sound doctrine:But speak thou the things which befit the sound doctrine:
Titus 2:2Exhort aged men to be temperate, grave, sober-minded, robust in their faith, their love and their patience.That the aged men be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.that aged men be temperate, grave, sober-minded, sound in faith, in love, in patience:
Titus 2:3In the same way exhort aged women to let their conduct be such as becomes consecrated persons. They must not be slanderers nor enslaved to wine-drinking. They must be teachers of what is right.The aged women, in like manner, in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well:that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;
Titus 2:4They should school the young women to be affectionate to their husbands and to their children, to be sober-minded, pure in their lives,That they may teach the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, to love their children,that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
Titus 2:5industrious in their homes, kind, submissive to their husbands, so that the Christian teaching may not be exposed to reproach.To be discreet, chaste, sober, having a care of the house, gentle, obedient to their husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.[to be] sober-minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed:
Titus 2:6In the same way exhort the younger men to be discreet,Young men, in like manner, exhort that they be sober.the younger men likewise exhort to be sober-minded:
Titus 2:7and above all make your own life a pattern of right conduct, having in your teaching no taint of insincerity, but a serious tone,In all things shew thyself an example of good works, in doctrine, in integrity, in gravity,in all things showing thyself an ensample of good works; in thy doctrine [showing] uncorruptness, gravity,
Titus 2:8and healthy language which no one can censure, so that our opponents may feel ashamed at having nothing evil to say against us.The sound word that can not be blamed: that he, who is on the contrary part, may be afraid, having no evil to say of us.sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us.
Titus 2:9Exhort slaves to be always obedient to their owners, and to give them satisfaction in everything, not contradicting and not pilfering,Exhort servants to be obedient to their masters, in all things pleasing, not gainsaying:[Exhort] servants to be in subjection to their own masters, [and] to be well-pleasing [to them] in all things; not gainsaying;
Titus 2:10but manifesting perfect fidelity and kind feeling, in order to bring honour to the teaching of our Saviour, God, in all things.Not defrauding, but in all things shewing good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things:not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
Titus 2:11For the grace of God has displayed itself with healing power to all mankind,For the grace of God our Savior hath appeared to all men;For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
Titus 2:12training us to renounce ungodliness and all the pleasures of this world, and to live sober, upright, and pious lives at the present time,Instructing us, that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, and justly, and godly in this world,instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world;
Titus 2:13in expectation of the fulfilment of our blessed hope the Appearing in glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;Looking for the blessed hope and coming of the glory of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ,looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:14who gave Himself for us to purchase our freedom from all iniquity, and purify for Himself a people who should be specially His own, zealous for doing good works.Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works.who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:15Thus speak, exhort, reprove, with all impressiveness. Let no one make light of your authority.These things speak, and exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
