1st-Peter 5:1So I exhort the Elders among you I who am their fellow Elder and have been an eye-witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and am also a sharer in the glory which is soon to be revealed.The ancients therefore that are among you, I beseech, who am myself also an ancient, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ: as also a partaker of that glory which is to be revealed in time to come:The elders which [are] among you I exhort, who [am their] fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of the Christ, who also [am] partaker of the glory about to be revealed:
1st-Peter 5:2Be shepherds of God's flock which is among you. Exercise the oversight not reluctantly but eagerly, in accordance with the will of God; not for base gain but with cheerful minds;Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking care of it, not by constraint, but willingly, according to God: not for filthy lucre's sake, but voluntarily:shepherd the flock of God which [is] among you, exercising oversight, not by necessity, but willingly; not for base gain, but readily;
1st-Peter 5:3not lording it over your Churches but proving yourselves patterns for the flock to imitate.Neither as lording it over the clergy, but being made a pattern of the flock from the heart.not as lording it over your possessions, but being models for the flock.
1st-Peter 5:4And then, when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the never-withering wreath of glory.And when the prince of pastors shall appear, you shall receive a never fading crown of glory.And when the chief shepherd is manifested ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.
1st-Peter 5:5In the same way you younger men must submit to your elders; and all of you must gird yourselves with humility towards one another, for God sets Himself against the proud, but gives grace to the humble.In like manner, ye young men, be subject to the ancients. And do you all insinuate humility one to another, for God resisteth the proud, but to the humble he giveth grace.Likewise [ye] younger, be subject to [the] elder, and all of you bind on humility towards one another; for God sets himself against [the] proud, but to [the] humble gives grace.
1st-Peter 5:6Humble yourselves therefore beneath the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time He may set you on high.Be you humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in the time of visitation:Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in [the due] time;
1st-Peter 5:7Throw the whole of your anxiety upon Him, because He Himself cares for you.Casting all your care upon him, for he hath care of you.having cast all your care upon him, for he cares about you.
1st-Peter 5:8Curb every passion, and be on the alert. Your great accuser, the Devil, is going about like a roaring lion to see whom he can devour.Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour.Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary [the] devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.
1st-Peter 5:9Withstand him, firm in your faith; knowing that your brethren in other parts of the world are passing through just the same experiences.Whom resist ye, strong in faith: knowing that the same affliction befalls your brethren who are in the world.Whom resist, stedfast in faith, knowing that the selfsame sufferings are accomplished in your brotherhood which [is] in [the] world.
1st-Peter 5:10And God, the giver of all grace, who has called you to share His eternal glory, through Christ, after you have suffered for a short time, will Himself make you perfect, firm, and strong.But the God of all grace, who hath called us into his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, will himself perfect you, and confirm you, and establish you.But the God of all grace who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, when ye have suffered for a little while, himself shall make perfect, stablish, strengthen, ground:
1st-Peter 5:11To Him be all power unto the Ages of the Ages! Amen.To him be glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.to him [be] the glory and the might for the ages of the ages. Amen.
1st-Peter 5:12I send this short letter by Silas, our faithful brother for such I regard him in order to encourage you, and to bear witness that what I have told you is the true grace of God. In it stand fast.By Sylvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I think, I have written briefly: beseeching and testifying that this is the true grace of God, wherein you stand.By Silvanus, the faithful brother, as I suppose, I have written to you briefly; exhorting and testifying that this is [the] true grace of God in which ye stand.
1st-Peter 5:13The Church in Babylon, chosen like yourselves by God, sends greetings, and so does Mark my son.The church that is in Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you: and so doth my son Mark.She that is elected with [you] in Babylon salutes you, and Marcus my son.
1st-Peter 5:14Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with all of you who are in Christ.Salute one another with a holy kiss. Grace be to all you, who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with you all who [are] in Christ.
