Hebrews 10:1For, since the Law exhibits only an outline of the blessings to come and not a perfect representation of the things themselves, the priests can never, by repeating the same sacrifices which they continually offer year after year, give complete freedom from sin to those who draw near.For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, not the very image of the things; by the selfsame sacrifices which they offer continually every year, can never make the comers thereunto perfect:For the law, having a shadow of the coming good things, not the image itself of the things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually yearly, perfect those who approach.
Hebrews 10:2For then would not the sacrifices have ceased to be offered, because the consciences of the worshippers who in that case would now have been cleansed once for all would no longer be burdened with sins?For then they would have ceased to be offered: because the worshippers once cleansed should have no conscience of sin any longer:Since, would they not indeed have ceased being offered, on account of the worshippers once purged having no longer any conscience of sins?
Hebrews 10:3But in those sacrifices sins are recalled to memory year after year.But in them there is made a commemoration of sins every year.But in these [there is] a calling to mind of sins yearly.
Hebrews 10:4For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.For it is impossible that with the blood of oxen and goats sin should be taken away.For blood of bulls and goats [is] incapable of taking away sins.
Hebrews 10:5That is why, when He comes into the world, He says, "Sacrifice and offering Thou has not desired, but a body Thou hast prepared for Me.Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith: Sacrifice and oblation thou wouldest not: but a body thou hast fitted to me:Wherefore coming into the world he says, Sacrifice and offering thou willedst not; but thou hast prepared me a body.
Hebrews 10:6In whole burnt-offerings and in sin-offerings Thou hast taken no pleasure.Holocausts for sin did not please thee.Thou tookest no pleasure in burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin.
Hebrews 10:7Then I said, `I have come in the roll of the book it is written concerning Me to do Thy will, O God.'"Then said I: Behold I come: in the head of the book it is written of me: that I should do thy will, O God.Then I said, Lo, I come (in [the] roll of the book it is written of me) to do, O God, thy will.
Hebrews 10:8After saying the words I have just quoted, "Sacrifices and offerings or whole burnt-offerings and sin-offerings Thou hast not desired or taken pleasure in" all such being offered in obedience to the LawIn saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law.Above, saying Sacrifices and offerings and burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin thou willedst not, neither tookest pleasure in (which are offered according to the law);
Hebrews 10:9He then adds, "I have come to do Thy will." He does away with the first in order to establish the second.Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: he taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.then he said, Lo, I come to do thy will. He takes away the first that he may establish the second;
Hebrews 10:10It is through that divine will that we have been set free from sin, through the offering of Jesus Christ as our sacrifice once for all.In the which will, we are sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ once.by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:11And while every priest stands ministering, day after day, and constantly offering the same sacrifices though such can never rid us of our sinsAnd every priest indeed standeth daily ministering, and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.And every priest stands daily ministering, and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
Hebrews 10:12this Priest, on the contrary, after offering for sins a single sacrifice of perpetual efficacy, took His seat at God's right hand,But this man offering one sacrifice for sins, for ever sitteth on the right hand of God,But *he*, having offered one sacrifice for sins, sat down in perpetuity at [the] right hand of God,
Hebrews 10:13waiting from that time onward until His enemies be put as a footstool under His feet.From henceforth expecting, until his enemies be made his footstool.waiting from henceforth until his enemies be set [for the] footstool of his feet.
Hebrews 10:14For by a single offering He has for ever completed the blessing for those whom He is setting free from sin.For by one oblation he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.For by one offering he has perfected in perpetuity the sanctified.
Hebrews 10:15And the Holy Spirit also gives us His testimony; for when He had said,And the Holy Ghost also doth testify this to us. For after that he said:And the Holy Spirit also bears us witness [of it]; for after what was said:
Hebrews 10:16"`This is the Covenant that I will make with them after those days,' says the Lord: `I will put My laws upon their hearts and will write them on their minds;'"And this is the testament which I will make unto them after those days, saith the Lord. I will give my laws in their hearts, and on their minds will I write them:This [is] the covenant which I will establish towards them after those days, saith [the] Lord: Giving my laws into their hearts, I will write them also in their understandings;
Hebrews 10:17He adds, "And their sins and offences I will remember no longer."And their sins and iniquities I will remember no more.and their sins and their lawlessnesses I will never remember any more.
Hebrews 10:18But where these have been forgiven no further offering for sin is required.Now where there is a remission of these, there is no more an oblation for sin.But where there [is] remission of these, [there is] no longer a sacrifice for sin.
Hebrews 10:19Since then, brethren, we have free access to the Holy place through the blood of Jesus,Having therefore, brethren, a confidence in the entering into the holies by the blood of Christ;Having therefore, brethren, boldness for entering into the [holy of] holies by the blood of Jesus,
Hebrews 10:20by the new and ever-living way which He opened up for us through the rending of the veil that is to say, of His earthly natureA new and living way which he hath dedicated for us through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,the new and living way which he has dedicated for us through the veil, that is, his flesh,
Hebrews 10:21and since we have a great Priest who has authority over the house of God,And a high priest over the house of God:and [having] a great priest over the house of God,
Hebrews 10:22let us draw near with sincerity and unfaltering faith, having had our hearts sprinkled, once for all, from consciences oppressed with sin, and our bodies bathed in pure water.Let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with clean water.let us approach with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, sprinkled as to our hearts from a wicked conscience, and washed as to our body with pure water.
Hebrews 10:23Let us hold firmly to an unflinching avowal of our hope, for He is faithful who gave us the promises.Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering (for he is faithful that hath promised),Let us hold fast the confession of the hope unwavering, (for he [is] faithful who has promised;)
Hebrews 10:24And let us bestow thought on one another with a view to arousing one another to brotherly love and right conduct;And let us consider one another, to provoke unto charity and to good works:and let us consider one another for provoking to love and good works;
Hebrews 10:25not neglecting as some habitually do to meet together, but encouraging one another, and doing this all the more since you can see the day of Christ approaching.Not forsaking our assembly, as some are accustomed; but comforting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching.not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the custom [is] with some; but encouraging [one another], and by so much the more as ye see the day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:26For if we wilfully persist in sin after having received the full knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains in reserve any other sacrifice for sins.For if we sin wilfully after having the knowledge of the truth, there is now left no sacrifice for sins,For where we sin wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains any sacrifice for sins,
Hebrews 10:27There remains nothing but a certain awful expectation of judgement, and the fury of a fire which before long will devour the enemies of the truth.But a certain dreadful expectation of judgment, and the rage of a fire which shall consume the adversaries.but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and heat of fire about to devour the adversaries.
Hebrews 10:28Any one who bids defiance to the Law of Moses is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.A man making void the law of Moses, dieth without any mercy under two or three witnesses:Any one that has disregarded Moses' law dies without mercy on [the testimony of] two or three witnesses:
Hebrews 10:29How much severer punishment, think you, will he be held to deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, has not regarded as holy that Covenant-blood with which he was set free from sin, and has insulted the Spirit from whom comes grace?How much more, do you think he deserveth worse punishments, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath esteemed the blood of the testament unclean, by which he was sanctified, and hath offered an affront to the Spirit of grace?of how much worse punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and esteemed the blood of the covenant, whereby he has been sanctified, common, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Hebrews 10:30For we know who it is that has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me: I will pay back;" and again, "The Lord will be His people's judge."For we know him that hath said: Vengeance belongeth to me, and I will repay. And again: The Lord shall judge his people.For we know him that said, To me [belongs] vengeance; *I* will recompense, saith the Lord: and again, The Lord shall judge his people.
Hebrews 10:31It is an awful thing to fall into the hands of the ever-living God.It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.[It is] a fearful thing falling into [the] hands of [the] living God.
Hebrews 10:32But continually recall to mind the days now past, when on being first enlightened you went through a great conflict and many sufferings.But call to mind the former days, wherein, being illuminated, you endured a great fight of afflictions.But call to mind the earlier days in which, having been enlightened, ye endured much conflict of sufferings;
Hebrews 10:33This was partly through allowing yourselves to be made a public spectacle amid reproaches and persecutions, and partly through coming forward to share the sufferings of those who were thus treated.And on the one hand indeed, by reproaches and tribulations, were made a gazingstock; and on the other, became companions of them that were used in such sort.on the one hand, when ye were made a spectacle both in reproaches and afflictions; and on the other, when ye became partakers with those who were passing through them.
Hebrews 10:34For you not only showed sympathy with those who were imprisoned, but you even submitted with joy when your property was taken from you, being well aware that you have in your own selves a more valuable possession and one which will remain.For you both had compassion on them that were in bands, and took with joy the being stripped of your own goods, knowing that you have a better and a lasting substance.For ye both sympathised with prisoners and accepted with joy the plunder of your goods, knowing that ye have for yourselves a better substance, and an abiding one.
Hebrews 10:35Therefore do not cast from you your confident hope, for it will receive a vast reward.Do not therefore lose your confidence, which hath a great reward.Cast not away therefore your confidence, which has great recompense.
Hebrews 10:36For you stand in need of patient endurance, so that, as the result of having done the will of God, you may receive the promised blessing.For patience is necessary for you; that, doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.For ye have need of endurance in order that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise.
Hebrews 10:37For there is still but a short time and then "The coming One will come and will not delay.For yet a little and a very little while, and he that is to come, will come, and will not delay.For yet a very little while he that comes will come, and will not delay.
Hebrews 10:38But it is by faith that My righteous servant shall live; and if he shrinks back, My soul takes no pleasure in him."But my just man liveth by faith; but if he withdraw himself, he shall not please my soul.But the just shall live by faith; and, if he draw back, my soul does not take pleasure in him.
Hebrews 10:39But we are not people who shrink back and perish, but are among those who believe and gain possession of their souls.But we are not the children of withdrawing unto perdition, but of faith to the saving of the soul.But *we* are not drawers back to perdition, but of faith to saving [the] soul.
