| John 15:1 | "I am the Vine the True Vine, and my Father is the vine-dresser. | If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; as I also have kept my Father's commandments, and do abide in his love. | I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. |
| John 15:2 | Every branch in me if it bears no fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. | These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be filled. | [As to] every branch in me not bearing fruit, he takes it away; and [as to] every one bearing fruit, he purges it that it may bring forth more fruit. |
| John 15:3 | Already you are cleansed through the teaching which I have given you. | This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. | Ye are already clean by reason of the word which I have spoken to you. |
| John 15:4 | Continue in me, and let me continue in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself that is, if it does not continue in the vine so neither can you if you do not continue in me. | Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends. | Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abide in the vine, thus neither [can] ye unless ye abide in me. |

But I have called you friends: because all things whatsoever I have heard of my Father, I have made known to you. | Unless any one abide in me he is cast out as the branch, and is dried up; and they gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. |

| John 15:11 | "These things I have spoken to you in order that I may have joy in you, and that your joy may become perfect. | Remember my word that I said to you: The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also. | I have spoken these things to you that my joy may be in you, and your joy be full. |

| John 15:15 | No longer do I call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all that I have heard from the Father I have made known to you. | If I had not done among them the works that no other man hath done, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father. | I call you no longer bondmen, for the bondman does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things which I have heard of my Father I have made known to you. |
| John 15:16 | It is not you who chose me, but it is I who chose you and appointed you that you might go and be fruitful and that your fruit might remain; so that whatever petition you present to the Father in my name He may give you. | But that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law: They hated me without cause. | Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and have set you that ye should go and [that] ye should bear fruit, and [that] your fruit should abide, that whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name he may give you. |

But because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world for that reason the world hates you. | | If ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on account of this the world hates you. |

If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. | | Remember the word which I said unto you, The bondman is not greater than his master.
