Luke 9:4 | Whatever house you enter, make that your home, and from it start afresh. | And whatsoever house you shall enter into, abide there, and depart not from thence. | And into whatsoever house ye enter, there abide and thence go forth. |
Luke 9:5 | Wherever they refuse to receive you, as you leave that town shake off the very dust from your feet as a protest against them." | And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off even the dust of your feet, for a testimony against them. | And as many as may not receive you, going forth from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a witness against them. |
Luke 9:6 | So they departed and visited village after village, spreading the Good News and performing cures everywhere. | And going out, they went about through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where. | And going forth they passed through the villages, announcing the glad tidings and healing everywhere. |

Luke 9:13 | "You yourselves," He said, "must give them food." "We have nothing," they replied, "but five loaves and a couple of fish, unless indeed we were to go and buy provisions for all this host of people." | But he said to them: Give you them to eat. And they said: We have no more than five loaves and two fishes; unless perhaps we should go and buy food for all this multitude. | And he said to them, Give *ye them to eat. And they said, We have not more than five loaves and two fishes, unless *we* should go and buy food for all this people; |

Luke 9:25 | Why, what benefit is it to a man to have gained the whole world, but to have lost or forfeited his own self. | For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, and cast away himself? | For what shall a man profit if he shall have gained the whole world, and have destroyed, or come under the penalty of the loss of himself? |
Luke 9:26 | For whoever shall have been ashamed of me and my teachings, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own and the Father's glory and in that of the holy angels. | For he that shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him the Son of man shall be ashamed, when he shall come in his majesty, and that of his Father, and of the holy angels. | For whosoever shall have been ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of man be ashamed when he shall come in his glory, and [in that] of the Father, and of the holy angels. |
Luke 9:27 | I tell you truly that there are some of those who stand here who will certainly not taste death till they have seen the Kingdom of God." | But I tell you of a truth: There are some standing here that shall not taste death, till they see the kingdom of God. | But I say unto you of a truth, There are some of those standing here who shall not taste death until they shall have seen the kingdom of God. |

Luke 9:34 | But while he was thus speaking, there came a cloud which spread over them; and they were awe-struck when they had entered into the cloud. | And as he spoke these things, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them; and they were afraid, when they entered into the cloud. | But as he was saying these things, there came a cloud and overshadowed them, and they feared as they entered into the cloud: |

Luke 9:36 | After this voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They kept it to themselves, and said not a word to any one at that time about what they had seen. | And whilst the voice was uttered, Jesus was found alone. Luke 9:38 | and a man from the crowd called out, "Rabbi, I beg you to pity my son, for he is my only child. | And behold a man among the crowd cried out, saying: Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son, because he is my only one. | And lo, a man from the crowd cried out saying, Teacher, I beseech thee look upon my son, for he is mine only child: |
Luke 9:39 | At times a spirit seizes him and he suddenly cries out. It convulses him, and makes him foam at the mouth, and does not leave him till it has well-nigh covered him with bruises. | And lo, a spirit seizeth him, and he suddenly crieth out, and he throweth him down and teareth him, so that he foameth; and bruising him, he hardly departeth from him. | and behold, a spirit takes him, and suddenly he cries out, and it tears him with foaming, and with difficulty departs from him after crushing him. |

Luke 9:41 | "O unbelieving and perverse generation!" replied Jesus; "how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here to me." | And Jesus answering, said: O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring hither thy son. | And Jesus answering said, O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you and suffer you? Bring hither thy son. |
Luke 9:42 | Now while the youth was coming, the spirit dashed him to the ground and cruelly convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the foul spirit, and cured the youth and gave him back to his father. | And as he was coming to him, the devil threw him down, and tore him. | But as he was yet coming, the demon tore him and dragged him all together. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child and gave him back to his father. |

And while every one was expressing wonder at all that He was doing, He said to his disciples, | And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and cured the boy, and restored him to his father. | And all were astonished at the glorious greatness of God. And as all wondered at all the things which [Jesus] did, he said to his disciples, |
Luke 9:44 | "As for you, store these my sayings in your memory; for, before long, the Son of Man will be betrayed into the hands of men." | And all were astonished at the mighty power of God. But while all wondered at all the things he did, he said to his disciples: Lay you up in your hearts these words, for it shall come to pass, that the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. | Do *ye* let these words sink into your ears. For the Son of man is about to be delivered into men's hands. |
Luke 9:45 | But they did not understand His meaning: it was veiled from them that they might not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask Him about it. | But they understood not this word; and it was hid from them, so that they perceived it not. And they were afraid to ask him concerning this word. | But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them that they should not perceive it. And they feared to ask him concerning this saying. |
Luke 9:46 | Now there arose a dispute among them, which of them was to be the greatest. | And there entered a thought into them, which of them should be greater. | And a reasoning came in amongst them, who should be [the] greatest of them. |

Luke 9:48 | and said to them, "Whoever for my sake receives this little child, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives Him who sent me. For the lowliest among you all he is the greatest." | And said to them: Whosoever shall receive this child in my name, receiveth me; and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth him that sent me. For he that is the lesser among you all, he is the greater. | and said to them, Whosoever shall receive this little child in my name receives me, and whosoever shall receive me receives him that sent me. For he who is the least among you all, *he* is great. |
Luke 9:49 | "Rabbi," replied John, "we have seen a man making use of your name to expel demons; and we forbad him, because he does not come with us." | And John, answering, said: Master, we saw a certain man casting out devils in thy name, and we forbade him, because he followeth not with us. | And John answering said, Master, we saw some one casting out demons in thy name, and we forbad him, because he follows not with us. |
Luke 9:50 | "Do not forbid him," said Jesus, "for he who is not against you is on your side." | And Jesus said to him: Forbid him not; for he that is not against you, is for you. | And Jesus said to him, Forbid [him] not, for he that is not against you is for you. |

And having gone they entered into a village of the Samaritans that they might make ready for him. |
Luke 9:53 | But the people there would not receive Him, because He was evidently going to Jerusalem. | And they received him not, because his face was of one going to Jerusalem. | And they did not receive him, because his face was [turned as] going to Jerusalem. |
Luke 9:54 | When the disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Master, do you wish us to order fire to come down from Heaven and consume them?" | And when his disciples James and John had seen this, they said: Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them? | And his disciples James and John seeing [it] said, Lord, wilt thou that we speak [that] fire come down from heaven and consume them, as also Elias did? |

Luke 9:59 | "Follow me," He said to another. "Master," the man replied, "allow me first to go and bury my father." | But he said to another: Follow me. Luke 9:60 | "Leave the dead," Jesus rejoined, "to bury their own dead; but you must go and announce far and wide the coming of the Kingdom of God." | And Jesus said to him: Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou, and preach the kingdom of God. | But Jesus said to him, Suffer the dead to bury their own dead, but do *thou* go and announce the kingdom of God. |
Luke 9:61 | "Master," said yet another, "I will follow you; but allow me first to go and say good-bye to my friends at home." | And another said: I will follow thee, Lord; but let me first take my leave of them that are at my house. | And another also said, I will follow thee, Lord, but first allow me to bid adieu to those at my house. |
Luke 9:62 | Jesus answered him, "No one who has put his hand to the plough, and then looks behind him, is fit for the Kingdom of God. | Jesus said to him: No man putting his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. | But Jesus said to him, No one having laid his hand on [the] plough and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God. |
