| Mark 7:1 | Then the Pharisees, with certain Scribes who had come from Jerusalem, came to Him in a body. | And there assembled together unto him the Pharisees and some of the scribes, coming from Jerusalem. | And the Pharisees and some of the scribes, coming from Jerusalem, are gathered together to him, |
| Mark 7:2 | They had noticed that some of His disciples were eating their food with `unclean' (that is to say, unwashed) hands. | And when they had seen some of his disciples eat bread with common, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault. | and seeing some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is, unwashed, hands, |
| Mark 7:3 | (For the Pharisees and all the Jews being, as they are, zealous for the traditions of the Elders never eat without first carefully washing their hands, | For the Pharisees, and all the Jews eat not without often washing their hands, holding the tradition of the ancients: | (for the Pharisees and all the Jews, unless they wash their hands diligently, do not eat, holding what has been delivered by the ancients; |

| Mark 7:12 | And so you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or mother, | And further you suffer him not to do any thing for his father or mother, | And ye no longer suffer him to do anything for his father or his mother; |
| Mark 7:13 | thus nullifying God's precept by your tradition which you have handed down. And many things of that kind you do." | Making void the word of God by your own tradition, which you have given forth. | Mark 7:18 | "Have *you* also so little understanding?" He replied; "do you not understand that anything whatever that enters a man from outside cannot make him unclean, | And he saith to them: So are you also without knowledge? understand you not that every thing from without, entering into a man cannot defile him: | And he says to them, Are *ye* also thus unintelligent? Do ye not perceive that all that is outside entering into the man cannot defile him, |
| Mark 7:19 | because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and passes away ejected from him?" By these words Jesus pronounced all kinds of food clean. | Because it entereth not into his heart, but goeth into the belly, and goeth out into the privy, purging all meats? | because it does not enter into his heart but into his belly, and goes out into the draught, purging all meats? |

| Mark 7:37 | The amazement was extreme. "He succeeds in everything he attempts," they exclaimed; "he even makes deaf men hear and dumb men speak!" | And so much the more did they wonder, saying: He hath done all things well; he hath made both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak. | and they were astonished above measure, saying, He does all things well; he makes both the deaf to hear, and the speechless to speak. |
