Matthew 25:1"Then will the Kingdom of the Heavens be found to be like ten bridesmaids who took their torches and went out to meet the bridegroom.Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like to ten virgins, who taking their lamps went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride."Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Matthew 25:2Five of them were foolish and five were wise.And five of them were foolish, and five wise.Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
Matthew 25:3For the foolish, when they took their torches, did not provide themselves with oil;But the five foolish, having taken their lamps, did not take oil with them:Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,
Matthew 25:4but the wise, besides their torches, took oil in their flasks.But the wise took oil in their vessels with the lamps.but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Matthew 25:5The bridegroom was a long time in coming, so that meanwhile they all became drowsy and fell asleep.And the bridegroom tarrying, they all slumbered and slept.Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
Matthew 25:6But at midnight there is a loud cry, "`The bridegroom! Go out and meet him!'And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him.But at midnight there was a cry, 'Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!'
Matthew 25:7"Then all those bridesmaids roused themselves and trimmed their torches.Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Matthew 25:8"`Give us some of your oil,' said the foolish ones to the wise, `for our torches are going out.'And the foolish said to the wise: Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out.The foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'
Matthew 25:9"`But perhaps,' replied the wise, `there will not be enough for all of us. Go to the shops rather, and buy some for yourselves.'The wise answered, saying: Lest perhaps there be not enough for us and for you, go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.But the wise answered, saying, 'What if there will not be enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.'
Matthew 25:10"So they went to buy. But meanwhile the bridegroom came; those bridesmaids who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet; and the door was shut.Now whilst they went to buy, the bridegroom came: and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.
Matthew 25:11"Afterwards the other bridesmaids came and cried, "`Sir, Sir, open the door to us.'But at last come also the other virgins, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us.Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.'
Matthew 25:12"`In solemn truth I tell you,' he replied, `I do not know you.'But he answering said: Amen I say to you, I know you not.But he answered, 'Most assuredly I tell you, I don't know you.'
Matthew 25:13"Keep awake therefore; for you know neither the day nor the hour.Watch ye therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour.Watch therefore, for you don't know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
Matthew 25:14"Why, it is like a man who, when going on his travels, called his bondservants and entrusted his property to their care.For even as a man going into a far country, called his servants, and delivered to them his goods;"For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and delivered his goods to them.
Matthew 25:15To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one to each according to his individual capacity; and then started from home.And to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to every one according to his proper ability: and immediately he took his journey.To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability, and he went on his journey.
Matthew 25:16Without delay the one who had received the five talents went and employed them in business, and gained five more.And he that had received the five talents, went his way, and traded with the same, and gained other five.Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.
Matthew 25:17In the same way he who had the two gained two more.And in like manner he that had received the two, gained other two.In like manner he also who got the two gained another two.
Matthew 25:18But the man who had received the one went and dug a hole and buried his master's money.But he that had received the one, going his way digged into the earth, and hid his lord's money.But he who received the one went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
Matthew 25:19"After a long lapse of time the master of those servants returned, and had a reckoning with them.But after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reckoned with them.Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them.
Matthew 25:20The one who had received the five talents came and brought five more, and said, "`Sir, it was five talents that you entrusted to me: see, I have gained five more.'And he that had received the five talents coming, brought other five talents, saying: Lord, thou didst deliver to me five talents, behold I have gained other five over and above.He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.'
Matthew 25:21"`You have done well, good and trustworthy servant,' replied his master; `you have been trustworthy in the management of a little, I will put you in charge of much: share your master's joy.'His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant, because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
Matthew 25:22"The second, who had received the two talents, came and said, "`Sir, it was two talents you entrusted to me: see, I have gained two more.'And he also that had received the two talents came and said: Lord, thou deliveredst two talents to me: behold I have gained other two.He also who got the two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents besides them.'
Matthew 25:23"`Good and trustworthy servant, you have done well,' his master replied; `you have been trustworthy in the management of a little, I will put you in charge of much: share your master's joy.'His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant: because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
Matthew 25:24"But, next, the man who had the one talent in his keeping came and said, "`Sir, I knew you to be a severe man, reaping where you had not sown and garnering what you had not winnowed.But he that had received the one talent, came and said: Lord, I know that thou art a hard man; thou reapest where thou hast not sown, and gatherest where thou hast not strewed.He also who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter.
Matthew 25:25So being afraid I went and buried your talent in the ground: there you have what belongs to you.'And being afraid I went and hid thy talent in the earth: behold here thou hast that which is thine.I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have your own.'
Matthew 25:26"`You wicked and slothful servant,' replied his master, `did you know that I reap where I have not sown, and garner what I have not winnowed?And his lord answering, said to him: Wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sow not, and gather where I have not strewed:But his lord answered him, 'You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn't sow, and gather where I didn't scatter.
Matthew 25:27Your duty then was to deposit my money in some bank, and so when I came I should have got back my property with interest.Thou oughtest therefore to have committed my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received my own with usury.You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.
Matthew 25:28So take away the talent from him, and give it to the man who has the ten.'Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that hath ten talents.Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents.
Matthew 25:29(For to every one who has, more shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but from him who has nothing, even what he has shall be taken away.)For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound: but from him that hath not, that also which he seemeth to have shall be taken away.For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who has not, even that which he has will be taken away.
Matthew 25:30`But as for this worthless servant, put him out into the darkness outside: *there* will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.'And the unprofitable servant cast ye out into the exterior darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness; there will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.'
Matthew 25:31"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then will He sit upon His glorious throne,And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty."But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then will he sit on the throne of his glory.
Matthew 25:32and all the nations will be gathered into His presence. And He will separate them from one another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;And all nations shall be gathered together before him, and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats:Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
Matthew 25:33and will make the sheep stand at His right hand, and the goats at His left.And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
Matthew 25:34"Then the King will say to those at His right, "`Come, my Father's blessed ones, receive your inheritance of the Kingdom which has been divinely intended for you ever since the creation of the world.Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.Then the King will tell them on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
Matthew 25:35For when I was hungry, you gave me food; when I was thirsty, you gave me drink; when I was homeless, you gave me a welcome;For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in:for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in;
Matthew 25:36when I was ill-clad, you clothed me; when I was sick, you visited me; when I was in prison, you came to see me.'Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me.naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.'
Matthew 25:37"`When, Lord,' the righteous will reply, `did we see Thee hungry, and feed Thee; or thirsty, and give Thee drink?Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee; thirsty, and gave thee drink?Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?
Matthew 25:38When did we see Thee homeless, and give Thee a welcome? or ill-clad, and clothe Thee?And when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and covered thee?When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?
Matthew 25:39When did we see Thee sick or in prison, and come to see Thee?'Or when did we see thee sick or in prison, and came to thee?When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'
Matthew 25:40"But the King will answer them, "`In solemn truth I tell you that in so far as you rendered such services to one of the humblest of these my brethren, you rendered them to myself.'And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.The King will answer them, 'Most assuredly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'
Matthew 25:41"Then will He say to those at His left, "`Begone from me, with the curse resting upon you, into the Fire of the Ages, which has been prepared for the Devil and his angels.Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels.Then will he say also to them on the left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;
Matthew 25:42For when I was hungry, you gave me nothing to eat; when thirsty, you gave me nothing to drink;For I was hungry, and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me not to drink.for I was hungry, and you didn't give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;
Matthew 25:43when homeless, you gave me no welcome; ill-clad, you clothed me not; sick or in prison, you visited me not.'I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you covered me not: sick and in prison, and you did not visit me.I was a stranger, and you didn't take me in; naked, and you didn't clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn't visit me.'
Matthew 25:44"Then will they also answer, "`Lord, when did we see Thee hungry or thirsty or homeless or ill-clad or sick or in prison, and not come to serve Thee?'Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee?Then will they also answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not help you?'
Matthew 25:45"But he will reply, "`In solemn truth I tell you that in so far as you withheld such services from one of the humblest of these, you withheld them from me.'Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me.Then will he answer them, saying, 'Most assuredly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn't do it to one of these least, you didn't do it to me.'
Matthew 25:46"And these shall go away into the Punishment of the Ages, but the righteous into the Life of the Ages."And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
