Mark 3:1At another time, when He went to the synagogue, there was a man there with one arm shrivelled up.And he entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had a withered hand.And he entered again into the synagogue, and there was there a man having the hand withered,
Mark 3:2They closely watched Him to see whether He would cure him on the Sabbath so as to have a charge to bring against Him.And they watched him whether he would heal on the sabbath days; that they might accuse him.and they were watching him, whether on the sabbaths he will heal him, that they might accuse him.
Mark 3:3"Come forward," said He to the man with the shrivelled arm.And he said to the man who had the withered hand: Stand up in the midst.And he saith to the man having the hand withered, `Rise up in the midst.`
Mark 3:4Then He asked them, "Are we allowed to do good on the Sabbath, or to do evil? to save a life, or to destroy one?" They remained silent.And he saith to them: Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy? But they held their peace.And he saith to them, `Is it lawful on the sabbaths to do good, or to do evil? life to save, or to kill?` but they were silent.
Mark 3:5Grieved and indignant at the hardening of their hearts, He looked round on them with anger, and said to the man, "Stretch out your arm." He stretched it out, and the arm was completely restored.And looking round about on them with anger, being grieved for the blindness of their hearts, he saith to the man: Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth: and his hand was restored unto him.And having looked round upon them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their heart, he saith to the man, `Stretch forth thy hand;` and he stretched forth, and his hand was restored whole as the other;
Mark 3:6But no sooner had the Pharisees left the synagogue than they held a consultation with the Herodians against Jesus, to devise some means of destroying Him.And the Pharisees going out, immediately made a consultation with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.and the Pharisees having gone forth, immediately, with the Herodians, were taking counsel against him how they might destroy him.
Mark 3:7Accordingly Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the Lake, and a vast crowd of people from Galilee followed Him;But Jesus retired with his disciples to the sea; and a great multitude followed him from Galilee and Judea,And Jesus withdrew with his disciples unto the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judea,
Mark 3:8and from Judaea and Jerusalem and Idumaea and from beyond the Jordan and from the district of Tyre and Sidon there came to Him a vast crowd, hearing of all that He was doing.And from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and from beyond the Jordan. And they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, hearing the things which he did, came to him.and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea and beyond the Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon a great multitude having heard how great things he was doing, came unto him.
Mark 3:9So He gave directions to His disciples to keep a small boat in constant attendance on Him because of the throng to prevent their crushing Him.And he spoke to his disciples that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.And he said to his disciples that a little boat may wait on him, because of the multitude, that they may not press upon him,
Mark 3:10For He had cured many of the people, so that all who had any ailments pressed upon Him, to touch Him.For he healed many, so that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had evils.for he did heal many, so that they threw themselves on him, in order to touch him as many as had plagues;
Mark 3:11And the foul spirits, whenever they saw Him, threw themselves down at His feet, screaming out: "You are the Son of God."And the unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him: and they cried, saying:and the unclean spirits, when they were seeing him, were falling down before him, and were crying, saying `Thou art the Son of God;`
Mark 3:12But He many a time checked them, forbidding them to say who He was.Thou art the Son of God. And he strictly charged them that they should not make him known.and many times he was charging them that they might not make him manifest.
Mark 3:13Then He went up the hill; and those whom He Himself chose He called, and they came to Him.And going up into a mountain, he called unto him whom he would himself: and they came to him.And he goeth up to the mountain, and doth call near whom he willed, and they went away to him;
Mark 3:14He appointed twelve of them, that they might be with Him, and that He might also send them to proclaim His Message,And he made that twelve should be with him, and that he might send them to preach.and he appointed twelve, that they may be with him, and that he may send them forth to preach,
Mark 3:15with authority to expel the demons.And he gave them power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils.and to have power to heal the sicknesses, and to cast out the demons.
Mark 3:16These twelve were Simon (to whom He gave the surname of Peter),And to Simon he gave the name Peter:And he put on Simon the name Peter;
Mark 3:17James the son of Zabdi and John the brother of James (these two He surnamed Boanerges, that is `Sons of Thunder'),And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he named them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:and James of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, and he put on them names Boanerges, that is, `Sons of thunder;`
Mark 3:18Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Cananaean,And Andrew and Philip, and Bartholomew and Matthew, and Thomas and James of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Cananean:and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Cananite,
Mark 3:19and Judas Iscariot, the man who also betrayed Him.And Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.and Judas Iscariot, who did also deliver him up; and they come into a house.
Mark 3:20And He went into a house. But again the crowd assembled, so that there was no opportunity for them even to snatch a meal.And they come to a house, and the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.And come together again doth a multitude, so that they are not able even to eat bread;
Mark 3:21Hearing of this, His relatives came to seize Him by force, for they said, "He is out of his mind."And when his friends had heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him. For they said: He is become mad.and his friends having heard, went forth to lay hold on him, for they said that he was beside himself,
Mark 3:22The Scribes, too, who had come down from Jerusalem said, "He has Baal-zebul in him; and it is by the power of the Prince of the demons that he expels the demons."And the scribes who were come down from Jerusalem, said: He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of devils he casteth out devils.and the scribes who [are] from Jerusalem having come down, said `He hath Beelzeboul,` and `By the ruler of the demons he doth cast out the demons.`
Mark 3:23So He called them to Him, and using figurative language He appealed to them, saying, "How is it possible for Satan to expel Satan?And after he had called them together, he said to them in parables: How can Satan cast out Satan?And, having called them near, in similes he said to them, `How is the Adversary able to cast out the Adversary?
Mark 3:24For if civil war breaks out in a kingdom, nothing can make that kingdom last;And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.and if a kingdom against itself be divided, that kingdom cannot be made to stand;
Mark 3:25and if a family splits into parties, that family cannot continue.And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.and if a house against itself be divided, that house cannot be made to stand;
Mark 3:26So if Satan has risen in arms and has made war upon himself, stand he cannot, but meets his end.And if Satan be risen up against himself, he is divided, and cannot stand, but hath an end.and if the Adversary did rise against himself, and hath been divided, he cannot be made to stand, but hath an end.
Mark 3:27Nay, no one can go into a strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.No man can enter into the house of a strong man and rob him of his goods, unless he first bind the strong man, and then shall he plunder his house.`No one is able the vessels of the strong man having entered into his house to spoil, if first he may not bind the strong man, and then his house he will spoil.
Mark 3:28In solemn truth I tell you that all their sins may be pardoned to the sons of men, and all their blasphemies, however they may have blasphemed;Amen I say to you, that all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and the blasphemies wherewith they shall blaspheme:`Verily I say to you, that all the sins shall be forgiven to the sons of men, and evil speakings with which they might speak evil,
Mark 3:29but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, he remains for ever unabsolved: he is guilty of a sin of the Ages."But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, shall never have forgiveness, but shall be guilty of an everlasting sin.but whoever may speak evil in regard to the Holy Spirit hath not forgiveness to the age, but is in danger of age-during judgment;`
Mark 3:30This was because they said, "He is possessed by a foul spirit."Because they said: He hath an unclean spirit.because they said, `He hath an unclean spirit.`
Mark 3:31By this time His mother and His brothers arrive, and standing outside they send a message to Him to call Him.And his mother and his bretheren came; and standing without, sent unto him, calling him.Then come do his brethren and mother, and standing without, they sent unto him, calling him,
Mark 3:32Now a crowd was sitting round Him; so they tell Him, "Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, inquiring for you."And the multitude sat about him; and they say to him: Behold thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.and a multitude was sitting about him, and they said to him, `Lo, thy mother and thy brethren without do seek thee.`
Mark 3:33"Who are my mother and my brothers?" He replied.And answering them, he said: Who is my mother and my brethren?And he answered them, saying, `Who is my mother, or my brethren?`
Mark 3:34And, fixing His eyes on the people who were sitting round Him in a circle, He said,And looking round about on them who sat about him, he saith: Behold my mother and my brethren.And having looked round in a circle to those sitting about him, he saith, `Lo, my mother and my brethren!
Mark 3:35"Here are my mother and my brothers. For wherever there is one who has been obedient to God, there is my brother my sister and my mother."For whosoever shall do the will of God, he is my brother, and my sister, and mother.for whoever may do the will of God, he is my brother, and my sister, and mother.`
