Colossians 3:1 | If however you have risen with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, enthroned at God's right hand. | If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. | If therefore ye have been raised with the Christ, seek the things [which are] above, where the Christ is, sitting at [the] right hand of God: |
Colossians 3:2 | Give your minds to the things that are above, not to the things that are on the earth. | Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. | have your mind on the things [that are] above, not on the things [that are] on the earth; |
Colossians 3:3 | For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. | For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. | for ye have died, and your life is hid with the Christ in God. |
Colossians 3:4 | When Christ appears He is our true Life then you also will appear with Him in glory. | When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. | When the Christ is manifested who [is] our life, then shall *ye* also be manifested with him in glory. |
Colossians 3:5 | Therefore put to death your earthward inclinations fornication, impurity, sensual passion, unholy desire, and all greed, for that is a form of idolatry. | Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: | Put to death therefore your members which [are] upon the earth, fornication, uncleanness, vile passions, evil lust, and unbridled desire, which is idolatry. |
Colossians 3:6 | It is on account of these very sins that God's anger is coming, | For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: | On account of which things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. |
Colossians 3:7 | and you also were once addicted to them, while you were living under their power. | In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. | In which *ye* also once walked when ye lived in these things. |
Colossians 3:8 | But now you must rid yourselves of every kind of sin angry and passionate outbreaks, ill-will, evil speaking, foul-mouthed abuse so that these may never soil your lips. | But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. | But now, put off, *ye* also, all [these] things, wrath, anger, malice, blasphemy, vile language out of your mouth. |
Colossians 3:9 | Do not speak falsehoods to one another, for you have stripped off the old self with its doings, | Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; | Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his deeds, |
Colossians 3:10 | and have clothed yourselves with the new self which is being remoulded into full knowledge so as to become like Him who created it. | And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: | and having put on the new, renewed into full knowledge according to [the] image of him that has created him; |
Colossians 3:11 | In that new creation there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free man, but Christ is everything and is in all of us. | Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. | wherein there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ [is] everything, and in all. |
Colossians 3:12 | Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own people holy and dearly loved, with tender-heartedness, kindness, lowliness of mind, meekness, long-suffering; | Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; | Put on therefore, as [the] elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering; |
Colossians 3:13 | bearing with one another and readily forgiving each other, if any one has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, you also must forgive. | Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. | forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any should have a complaint against any; even as the Christ has forgiven you, so also [do] *ye*. |
Colossians 3:14 | And over all these put on love, which is the perfect bond of union; | And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. | And to all these [add] love, which is the bond of perfectness. |
Colossians 3:15 | and let the peace which Christ gives settle all questionings in your hearts, to which peace indeed you were called as belonging to His one Body; and be thankful. | And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. | And let the peace of Christ preside in your hearts, to which also ye have been called in one body, and be thankful. |
Colossians 3:16 | Let the teaching concerning Christ remain as a rich treasure in your hearts. In all wisdom teach and admonish one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, and sing with grace in your hearts to God. | Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. | Let the word of the Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another, in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God. |
Colossians 3:17 | And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, and let it be through Him that you give thanks to God the Father. | And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. | And everything, whatever ye may do in word or in deed, [do] all things in [the] name of [the] Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him. |
Colossians 3:18 | Married women, be submissive to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. | Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. | Wives, be subject to [your] husbands, as is fitting in [the] Lord. |
Colossians 3:19 | Married men, be affectionate to your wives, and do not treat them harshly. | Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. | Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. |
Colossians 3:20 | Children be obedient to your parents in everything; for that is right for Christians. | Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. | Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in [the] Lord. |
Colossians 3:21 | Fathers, do not fret and harass your children, or you may make them sullen and morose. | Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. | Fathers, do not vex your children, to the end that they be not disheartened. |
Colossians 3:22 | Slaves, be obedient in everything to your earthly masters; not in acts of eye service, as aiming only to please men, but with simplicity of purpose, because you fear the Lord. | Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: | Bondmen, obey in all things your masters according to flesh; not with eye-services, as men-pleasers, but in simplicity of heart, fearing the Lord. |
Colossians 3:23 | Whatever you are doing, let your hearts be in your work, as a thing done for the Lord and not for men. | And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; | Whatsoever ye do, labour at it heartily, as [doing it] to the Lord, and not to men; |
Colossians 3:24 | For you know that it is from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. Christ is the Master whose bondservants you are. | Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. | knowing that of [the] Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance; ye serve the Lord Christ. |
Colossians 3:25 | The man who perpetrates a wrong will find the wrong repaid to him; and with God there are no merely earthly distinctions. | But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons. | For he that does a wrong shall receive the wrong he has done, and there is no respect of persons. |
