| John 9:1 | As He passed by, He saw a man who had been blind from his birth. | And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. | And as he passed on, he saw a man blind from birth. |
| John 9:2 | So His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned this man or his parents that he was born blind?" | And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? | And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this [man] or his parents, that he should be born blind? |
| John 9:3 | "Neither he nor his parents sinned," answered Jesus, "but he was born blind in order that God's mercy might be openly shown in him. | Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. | Jesus answered, Neither has this [man] sinned nor his parents, but that the works of God should be manifested in him. |
