| James 3:1 | Do not be eager, my brethren, for many among you to become teachers; for you know that we teachers shall undergo severer judgement. | My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. | Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment. |
| James 3:2 | For we often stumble and fall, all of us. If there is any one who never stumbles in speech, that man has reached maturity of character and is able to curb his whole nature. | For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. | For in many things we all stumble. If anyone doesn't stumble in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also. |

Let him prove it by a right life with conduct guided by a wisely teachable spirit. | Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. | Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show his deeds done in gentleness of wisdom by his good life. |
