Matthew 21:25 | John's Baptism, whence was it? had it a heavenly or a human origin?" So they debated the matter among themselves. "If we say `a heavenly origin,'" they argued, "he will say, `Why then did you not believe him?' | The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or from men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, if we shall say, From heaven; he will say to us, Why then did ye not believe him? | The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven or from men? But they thought within themselves, saying: |
Matthew 21:26 | and if we say `a human origin' we have the people to fear, for they all hold John to have been a Prophet." | But if we shall say, From men; we fear the people: for all hold John as a prophet. | If we shall say, from heaven, he will say to us: Why then did you not believe him? But if we shall say, from men, we are afraid of the multitude: for all held John as a prophet. |
Matthew 21:27 | So they answered Jesus, "We do not know." "Nor do I tell you," He replied, "by what authority I do these things." | And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. A certain man had two sons; and coming to the first, he said: Son, go work to day in my vineyard. |

They say to him, The first. Jesus saith to them, Verily I say to you, that the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. | Which of the two did the father's will? They say to him: The first. Jesus saith to them: Amen I say to you, that the publicans and the harlots shall go into the kingdom of God before you. |
Matthew 21:32 | For John came to you observing all sorts of ritual, and you put no faith in him: the tax-gatherers and the notorious sinners did put faith in him, and you, though you saw this example set you, were not even afterwards sorry so as to believe him. | For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him. | For John came to you in the way of justice, and you did not believe him. But the publicans and the harlots believed him: but you, seeing it, did not even afterwards repent, that you might believe him. |
Matthew 21:33 | "Listen to another parable. There was a householder who planted a vineyard, made a fence round it, dug a wine-tank in it, and built a strong lodge; then let the place to vine-dressers, and went abroad. | Hear another parable; There was a certain householder, who planted a vineyard, and hedged it around, and digged a wine-press in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a remote country: | Hear ye another parable. There was a man an householder, who planted a vineyard, and made a hedge round about it, and dug in it a press, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen; and went into a strange country. |

Matthew 21:37 | Later still he sent to them his son, saying, "`They will respect my son.' | But last of all he sent to them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. | And last of all he sent to them his son, saying: They will reverence my son. |
Matthew 21:38 | "But the vine-dressers, when they saw the son, said to one another, "`Here is the heir: come, let us kill him and get his inheritance.' | But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. | But the husbandmen seeing the son, said among themselves: This is the heir: come, let us kill him, and we shall have his inheritance. |
Matthew 21:39 | "So they seized him, dragged him out of the vineyard, and killed him. | And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. | And taking him, they cast him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him. |
Matthew 21:40 | When then the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-dressers?" | When therefore the Lord of the vineyard cometh, what will he do to those husbandmen? | When therefore the lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those husbandmen? |

By the Lord this has been done; and it is wonderful in our eyes. |
Matthew 21:43 | "That, I tell you, is the reason why the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and given to a nation that will exhibit the power of it. | Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it. | Therefore I say to you, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation yielding the fruits thereof. |
Matthew 21:44 | He who falls on this stone will be severely hurt; but he on whom it falls will be utterly crushed." | And whoever shall fall on this stone, shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. | And whosoever shall fall on this stone, shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it shall grind him to powder. |
Matthew 21:45 | After listening to His parables the High Priests and the Pharisees perceived that He was speaking about them; | And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them. | And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they knew that he spoke of them. |
Matthew 21:46 | but though they were eager to lay hands upon Him, they were afraid of the people, for by them He was regarded as a Prophet. | But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet. | And seeking to lay hands on him, they feared the multitudes: because they held him as a prophet. |
