1st-Peter 4:1Since, then, Christ has suffered in the flesh, you also must arm yourselves with a determination to do the same because he who has suffered in the flesh has done with sinForasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;Christ, then, having suffered for us in [the] flesh, do *ye* also arm yourselves with the same mind; for he that has suffered in [the] flesh has done with sin,
1st-Peter 4:2that in future you may spend the rest of your earthly lives, governed not by human passions, but by the will of God.that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.no longer to live the rest of [his] time in [the] flesh to men's lusts, but to God's will.
1st-Peter 4:3For you have given time enough in the past to the doing of the things which the Gentiles delight in pursuing, as you did, a course of habitual licence, debauchery, hard drinking, noisy revelry, drunkenness and unholy image-worship.For we have spent enough of our past time living in doing the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.For the time past [is] sufficient [for us] to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, walking in lasciviousness, lusts, wine-drinking, revels, drinkings, and unhallowed idolatries.
1st-Peter 4:4At this they are astonished that you do not run into the same excess of profligacy as they do; and they speak abusively of you.They think it is strange that you don't run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming:Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same sink of corruption, speaking injuriously [of you];
1st-Peter 4:5But they will have to give account to Him who stands ready to pronounce judgement on the living and the dead.who will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.who shall render account to him who is ready to judge [the] living and [the] dead.
1st-Peter 4:6For it is with this end in view that the Good News was proclaimed even to some who were dead, that they may be judged, as all mankind will be judged, in the body, but may be living a godly life in the spirit.For to this end was the gospel preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed as men in the flesh, but live as to God in the spirit.For to this [end] were the glad tidings preached to [the] dead also, that they might be judged, as regards men, after [the] flesh, but live, as regards God, after [the] Spirit.
1st-Peter 4:7But the end of all things is now close at hand: therefore be sober-minded and temperate, so that you may give yourselves to prayer.But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.But the end of all things is drawn nigh: be sober therefore, and be watchful unto prayers;
1st-Peter 4:8Above all continue to love one another fervently, for love throws a veil over a multitude of faults.And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.but before all things having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins;
1st-Peter 4:9Extend ungrudging hospitality towards one another.Be hospitable one to another without grumbling.hospitable one to another, without murmuring;
1st-Peter 4:10Whatever be the gifts which each has received, you must use them for one another's benefit, as good stewards of God's many-sided kindness.According as each has received a gift, be ministering it among yourselves, as good stewards of the grace of God in its various forms.each according as he has received a gift, ministering it to one another, as good stewards of [the] various grace of God.
1st-Peter 4:11If any one preaches, let it be as uttering God's truth; if any one renders a service to others, let it be in the strength which God supplies; so that in everything glory may be given to God in the name of Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the might to the Ages of the Ages. Amen.If any man speaks, let it be as it were oracles of God. If any man serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.If any one speak as oracles of God; if any one minister as of strength which God supplies; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the might for the ages of ages. Amen.
1st-Peter 4:12Dear friends, do not be surprised at finding that that scorching flame of persecution is raging among you to put you to the test as though some surprising thing were accidentally happening to you.Beloved, don't be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you, to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you.Beloved, take not [as] strange the fire [of persecution] which has taken place amongst you for [your] trial, as if a strange thing was happening to you;
1st-Peter 4:13On the contrary, in the degree that you share in the sufferings of the Christ, rejoice, so that at the unveiling of His glory you may also rejoice with triumphant gladness.But because you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also you may rejoice with exceeding joy.but as ye have share in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, that in the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exultation.
1st-Peter 4:14You are to be envied, if you are being reproached for bearing the name of Christ; for in that case the Spirit of glory even the Spirit of God is resting upon you.If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.If ye are reproached in [the] name of Christ, blessed [are ye]; for the [Spirit] of glory and the Spirit of God rests upon you: [on their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.]
1st-Peter 4:15But let not one of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evil-doer, or as a spy upon other people's business.For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters.Let none of you suffer indeed as murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or as overseer of other people's matters;
1st-Peter 4:16If, however, any one suffers because he is a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God for being permitted to bear that name.But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter.but if as a christian, let him not be ashamed, but glorify God in this name.
1st-Peter 4:17For the time has come for judgement to begin, and to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the end of those who reject God's Good News?For the time [has come] for judgment to begin at the house of God. If it begins first at us, what will happen to those who don't obey the gospel of God?For the time of having the judgment begin from the house of God [is come]; but if first from us, what [shall be] the end of those who obey not the glad tidings of God?
1st-Peter 4:18And if it is difficult even for a righteous man to be saved, what will become of irreligious men and sinners?"If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will happen to the ungodly and the sinner?"And if the righteous is difficultly saved, where shall the impious and [the] sinner appear?
1st-Peter 4:19Therefore also, let those who are suffering in accordance with the will of God entrust their souls in well-doing to a faithful Creator.Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.Wherefore also let them who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing to a faithful Creator.
