| Matthew 13:1 | That same day Jesus had left the house and was sitting on the shore of the Lake, | On that day Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the seaside. | And that [same] day Jesus went out from the house and sat down by the sea. |
| Matthew 13:2 | when a vast multitude of people crowded round Him. He therefore went on board a boat and sat there, while all the people stood on the shore. | Great multitudes gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat, and sat, and all the multitude stood on the beach. | And great crowds were gathered together to him, so that going on board ship himself he sat down, and the whole crowd stood on the shore. |
| Matthew 13:3 | He then spoke many things to them in figurative language. "The sower goes out," He said, "to sow. | He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, "Behold, the farmer went forth to sow. | And he spoke to them many things in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went out to sow: |

| Matthew 13:15 | For this people's mind is stupefied, their hearing has become dull, and their eyes they have closed; to prevent their ever seeing with their eyes, or hearing with their ears, or understanding with their minds, and turning back, so that I might heal them.' | For this people's heart has grown callous, Their ears are dull of hearing, Their eyes they have closed; Or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their heart, And should turn again; And I would heal them.' | for the heart of this people has grown fat, and they have heard heavily with their ears, and they have closed their eyes as asleep, lest they should see with the eyes, and hear with the ears, and understand with the heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. |

| Matthew 13:19 | When a man hears the Message concerning the Kingdom and does not understand it, the Evil one comes and catches away what has been sown in his heart. This is he who has received the seed by the road-side. | When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and doesn't understand it, the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown by the roadside. | From every one who hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand [it], the wicked one comes and catches away what was sown in his heart: this is he that is sown by the wayside. |
