Luke 19:1So He entered Jericho and was passing through the town.He entered and was passing through Jericho. And entering in, he walked through Jericho.
Luke 19:2There was a man there called Zacchaeus, who was the local surveyor of taxes, and was wealthy. There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And behold, there was a man named Zacheus, who was the chief of the publicans, and he was rich.
Luke 19:3He was anxious to see what sort of man Jesus was; but he could not because of the crowd, for he was short in stature. He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn't because of the crowd, because he was short. And he sought to see Jesus who he was, and he could not for the crowd, because he was low of stature.
Luke 19:4So he ran on in front and climbed up a mulberry tree to see Him; for He was about to pass that way.He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way.And running before, he climbed up into a sycamore tree, that he might see him; for he was to pass that way.
Luke 19:5As soon as Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for I must stay at your house to-day."When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house."And when Jesus was come to the place, looking up, he saw him, and said to him: Zacheus, make haste and come down; for this day I must abide in thy house.
Luke 19:6So he came down in haste, and welcomed Him joyfully. He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully. And he made haste and came down; and received him with joy.
Luke 19:7When they all saw this, they began to complain with indignation. "He has gone in to be the guest of a notorious sinner!" they said. When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, "He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner."And when all saw it, they murmured, saying, that he was gone to be a guest with a man that was a sinner.
Luke 19:8Zacchaeus however stood up, and addressing the Lord said, "Here and now, Master, I give half my property to the poor, and if I have unjustly exacted money from any man, I pledge myself to repay to him four times the amount."Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much."But Zacheus standing, said to the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have wronged any man of any thing, I restore him fourfold.
Luke 19:9Turning towards him, Jesus replied, "To-day salvation has come to this house, seeing that he too is a son of Abraham.Jesus said to him, "Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.Jesus said to him: This day is salvation come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.
Luke 19:10For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost."For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Luke 19:11As they were listening to His words, He went on to teach them by a parable, because He was near to Jerusalem and they supposed that the Kingdom of God was going to appear immediately. As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the kingdom of God would be revealed immediately. As they were hearing these things, he added and spoke a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately be manifested.
Luke 19:12So He said to them, "A man of noble family travelled to a distant country to obtain the rank of king, and to return. He said therefore, "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. He said therefore: A certain nobleman went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
Luke 19:13And he called ten of his servants and gave each of them a pound, instructing them to trade with the money during his absence. He called ten servants of his, and gave them ten minas, and told them, 'Conduct business until I come.'And calling his ten servants, he gave them ten pounds, and said to them: Trade till I come.
Luke 19:14"Now his countrymen hated him, and sent a deputation after him to say, `We are not willing that he should become our king.'But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, 'We don't want this man to reign over us.'But his citizens hated him: and they sent an embassage after him, saying: We will not have this man to reign over us.
Luke 19:15And upon his return, after he had obtained the sovereignty, he ordered those servants to whom he had given the money to be summoned before him, that he might learn their success in trading. It happened, when he had come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business. And it came to pass, that he returned, having received the kingdom: and he commanded his servants to be called, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
Luke 19:16"So the first came and said, "`Sir, your pound has produced ten pounds more.'The first came before him, saying, 'Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.'And the first came, saying: Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
Luke 19:17"`Well done, good servant,' he replied; `because you have been faithful in a very small matter, be in authority over ten towns.'He said to him, 'Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.'And he said to him: Well done, thou good servant, because thou hast been faithful in a little, thou shalt have power over ten cities.
Luke 19:18"The second came, and said, "`Your pound, Sir, has produced five pounds.'The second came, saying, 'Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.'And the second came, saying: Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
Luke 19:19"So he said to this one also, "`And you, be the governor of five towns.'He said to him also, 'You also are to be over five cities.'And he said to him: Be thou also over five cities.
Luke 19:20"The next came. "`Sir,' he said, `here is your pound, which I have kept wrapt up in a cloth.Another came, saying, 'Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,And another came, saying: Lord, behold here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin;
Luke 19:21For I was afraid of you, because you are a severe man: you take up what you did not lay down, and you reap what you did not sow.'for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which didn't lay down, and reap that which you didn't sow.'For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up what thou didst not lay down, and thou reapest that which thou didst not sow.
Luke 19:22"`By your own words,' he replied, `I will judge you, you bad servant. You knew me to be a severe man, taking up what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow:He said to him, 'Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn't lay down, and reaping that which I didn't sow.He saith to him: Out of thy own mouth I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping that which I did not sow:
Luke 19:23why then did you not put my money into a bank, that when I came I might have received it back with interest? Then why didn't you deposit my money in the bank, and I at my coming might have earned interest on it?'And why then didst thou not give my money into the bank, that at my coming, I might have exacted it with usury?
Luke 19:24"And he said to those who stood by, "`Take the pound from him and give it to him who has the ten pounds.'He said to those who stood by, 'Take the mina away from him, and give it to him who has the ten minas.'And he said to them that stood by: Take the pound away from him, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
Luke 19:25("They said to him, "`Sir, he already has ten pounds.')They said to him, 'Lord, he has ten minas!'And they said to him: Lord, he hath ten pounds.
Luke 19:26"`I tell you that to every one who has anything, more shall be given; and from him who has not anything, even what he has shall be taken away.'For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn't have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.But I say to you, that to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound: and from him that hath not, even that which he hath, shall be taken from him.
Luke 19:27But as for those enemies of mine who were unwilling that I should become their king, bring them here, and cut them to pieces in my presence.'"But bring those enemies of mine who didn't want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.'"But as for those my enemies, who would not have me reign over them, bring them hither, and kill them before me.

Untie him, and bring him.Saying: Go into the town which is over against you, at your entering into which you shall find the colt of an ass tied, on which no man ever hath sitten: loose him, and bring him hither.
Luke 19:31And if any one asks you, `Why are you untying the colt?' simply say, `The Master needs it.'"If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' say to him: 'The Lord needs it.'"And if any man shall ask you: Why do you loose him? you shall say thus unto him: Because the Lord hath need of his service.
Luke 19:32So those who were sent went and found things as He had told them. Those who were sent went away, and found things just as he had told them. And they that were sent, went their way, and found the colt standing, as he had said unto them.
Luke 19:33And while they were untying the colt the owners called out, "Why are you untying the colt?"As they were untying the colt, the owners of it said to them, 'Why are you untying the colt?'And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said to them: Why loose you the colt?
