Matthew 15:2 | "Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the Elders by not washing their hands before meals?" | `Wherefore do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they do not wash their hands when they may eat bread.` | Why do your disciples go against the teaching of the fathers? for they take food with unwashed hands. |
Matthew 15:3 | "Why do you, too," He retorted, "transgress God's commands for the sake of your tradition? | And he answering said to them, `Wherefore also do ye transgress the command of God because of your tradition? | And in answer he said to them, Why do you, yourselves, go against the word of God on account of the teaching which has been handed down to you? |
Matthew 15:4 | For God said, `Honour thy father and thy mother'; and `Let him who reviles father or mother be certainly put to death'; | for God did command, saying, Honour thy father and mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother let him die the death; | For God said, Give honour to your father and mother: and, He who says evil of father or mother will be put to death. |
Matthew 15:5 | but you this is what you say: `If a man says to his father or mother, That is consecrated, whatever it is, which otherwise you should have received from me | but ye say, Whoever may say to father or mother, An offering [is] whatever thou mayest be profited by me; | But you say, If a man says to his father or his mother, That by which you might have had profit from me is given to God; |
Matthew 15:6 | he shall be absolved from honouring his father'; and so you have abrogated God's Word for the sake of your tradition. | and he may not honour his father or his mother, and ye did set aside the command of God because of your tradition. | There is no need for him to give honour to his father. And you have made the word of God without effect because of your teaching. |

Matthew 15:9 | but it is in vain they worship Me, while they lay down precepts which are mere human rules.'" | and in vain do they worship Me, teaching teachings commands of men.` | But their worship is to no purpose, while they give as their teaching the rules of men. |
Matthew 15:10 | Then, when He had called the people to Him, Jesus said, "Hear and understand. | And having called near the multitude, he said to them, `Hear and understand: | And he got the people together and said to them, Give ear, and let my words be clear to you: |
Matthew 15:11 | It is not what goes into a man's mouth that defiles him; but it is what comes out of his mouth *that* defiles a man." | not that which is coming into the mouth doth defile the man, but that which is coming forth from the mouth, this defileth the man.` | Not that which goes into the mouth makes a man unclean, but that which comes out of the mouth. |
Matthew 15:12 | Then His disciples came and said to Him, "Do you know that the Pharisees were greatly shocked when they heard those words?" | Then his disciples having come near, said to him, `Hast thou known that the Pharisees, having heard the word, were stumbled?` | Then the disciples came and said to him, Did you see that the Pharisees were troubled when these words came to their ears? |

Matthew 15:18 | But the things that come out of the mouth proceed from the heart, and it is these that defile the man. | but the things coming forth from the mouth from the heart do come forth, and these defile the man; | But the things which come out of the mouth come from the heart; and they make a man unclean. |
Matthew 15:19 | For out of the heart proceed wicked thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, perjury, impiety of speech. | for out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, whoredoms, thefts, false witnessings, evil speakings: | For out of the heart come evil thoughts, the taking of life, broken faith between the married, unclean desires of the flesh, taking of property, false witness, bitter words: |

I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they should faint on the road." | And Jesus having called near his disciples, said, `I have compassion upon the multitude, because now three days they continue with me, and they have not what they may eat; and to let them away fasting I will not, lest they faint in the way.` | And Jesus got his disciples together and said, I have pity for the people, because they have now been with me three days and have no food: and I will not send them away without food, or they will have no strength for the journey. |
