Luke 22:1Meanwhile the Festival of the Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching,And the feast of the unleavened food was coming nigh, that is called Passover,Now the feast of unleavened bread, which [is] called the passover, drew nigh,
Luke 22:2and the High Priests and the Scribes were contriving how to destroy Him. But they feared the people.and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they may take him up, for they were afraid of the people.and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
Luke 22:3Satan, however, entered into Judas (the man called Iscariot) who was one of the Twelve.And the Adversary entered into Judas, who is surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve,And Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariote, being of the number of the twelve.
Luke 22:4He went and conferred with the High Priests and Commanders as to how he should deliver Him up to them.and he, having gone away, spake with the chief priests and the magistrates, how he might deliver him up to them,And he went away and spoke with the chief priests and captains as to how he should deliver him up to them.
Luke 22:5This gave them great pleasure, and they agreed to pay him.and they rejoiced, and covenanted to give him money,And they were rejoiced, and agreed to give him money.
Luke 22:6He accepted their offer, and then looked out for an opportunity to betray Him when the people were not there.and he agreed, and was seeking a favourable season to deliver him up to them without tumult.And he came to an agreement to do it, and sought an opportunity to deliver him up to them away from the crowd.
Luke 22:7When the day of the Unleavened Bread came the day for the Passover lamb to be sacrificedAnd the day of the unleavened food came, in which it was behoving the passover to be sacrificed,And the day of unleavened bread came, in which the passover was to be killed.
Luke 22:8Jesus sent Peter and John with instructions. "Go," He said, "and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat it."and he sent Peter and John, saying, `Having gone on, prepare to us the passover, that we may eat;`And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare the passover for us, that we may eat [it].
Luke 22:9"Where shall we prepare it?" they asked.and they said to him, `Where wilt thou that we might prepare?`But they said to him, Where wilt thou that we prepare [it]?
Luke 22:10"You will no sooner have entered the city," He replied, "than you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him into the house to which he goes,And he said to them, `Lo, in your entering into the city, there shall meet you a man, bearing a pitcher of water, follow him to the house where he doth go in,And he said to them, Behold, as ye enter into the city a man will meet you, carrying an earthen pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goes in;
Luke 22:11and say to the master of the house, "`The Rabbi asks you, Where is the room where I can eat the Passover with my disciples?'and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith to thee, Where is the guest-chamber where the passover with my disciples I may eat?and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher says to thee, Where is the guest-chamber where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
Luke 22:12"And he will show you a large furnished room upstairs. There make your preparations."and he shall show you a large upper room furnished, there make ready;`And *he* will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
Luke 22:13So they went and found all as He had told them; and they got the Passover ready.and they, having gone away, found as he hath said to them, and they made ready the passover.And having gone they found it as he had said to them; and they prepared the passover.
Luke 22:14When the time was come, and He had taken His place at table, and the Apostles with Him,And when the hour come, he reclined (at meat), and the twelve apostles with him,And when the hour was come, he placed himself at table, and the [twelve] apostles with him.
Luke 22:15He said to them, "Earnestly have I longed to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;and he said unto them, `With desire I did desire to eat this passover with you before my suffering,And he said to them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer.
Luke 22:16for I tell you that I certainly shall not eat one again till its full meaning has been brought out in the Kingdom of God."for I say to you, that no more may I eat of it till it may be fulfilled in the reign of God.`For I say unto you, that I will not eat any more at all of it until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Luke 22:17Then, having received the cup and given thanks, He said, "Take this and share it among yourselves;And having taken a cup, having given thanks, he said, `Take this and divide to yourselves,And having received a cup, when he had given thanks he said, Take this and divide it among yourselves.
Luke 22:18for I tell you that from this time I will never drink the produce of the vine till the Kingdom of God has come."for I say to you that I may not drink of the produce of the vine till the reign of God may come.`For I say unto you, that I will not drink at all of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God come.
Luke 22:19Then, taking a Passover biscuit, He gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body which is being given on your behalf: this do in remembrance of me."And having taken bread, having given thanks, he brake and gave to them, saying, `This is my body, that for you is being given, this do ye to remembrance of me.`And having taken a loaf, when he had given thanks, he broke [it], and gave [it] to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luke 22:20He gave them the cup in like manner, when the meal was over. "This cup," He said, "is the new Covenant ratified by my blood which is to be poured out on your behalf.In like manner, also, the cup after the supping, saying, `This cup [is] the new covenant in my blood, that for you is being poured forth.In like manner also the cup, after having supped, saying, This cup [is] the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Luke 22:21Yet the hand of him who is betraying me is at the table with me.`But, lo, the hand of him delivering me up [is] with me on the table,Moreover, behold, the hand of him that delivers me up [is] with me on the table;
Luke 22:22For indeed the Son of Man goes on His way His pre-destined way; yet alas for that man who is betraying Him!"and indeed the Son of Man doth go according to what hath been determined; but wo to that man through whom he is being delivered up.`and the Son of man indeed goes as it is determined, but woe unto that man by whom he is delivered up.
Luke 22:23Thereupon they began to discuss with one another which of them it could possibly be who was about to do this.And they began to reason among themselves, who then of them it may be, who is about to do this thing.And *they* began to question together among themselves who then it could be of them who was about to do this.
Luke 22:24There arose also a dispute among them which of them should be regarded as greatest.And there happened also a strife among them who of them is accounted to be greater.And there was also a strife among them which of them should be held to be [the] greatest.
Luke 22:25But He said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles are their masters, and those who exercise authority over them are called Benefactors.And he said to them, `The kings of the nations do exercise lordship over them, and those exercising authority upon them are called benefactors;And he said to them, The kings of the nations rule over them, and they that exercise authority over them are called benefactors.
Luke 22:26With you it is not so; but let the greatest among you be as the younger, and the leader be like him who serves.but ye [are] not so, but he who is greater among you let him be as the younger; and he who is leading, as he who is ministering;But *ye* [shall] not [be] thus; but let the greater among you be as the younger, and the leader as he that serves.
Luke 22:27For which is the greater he who sits at table, or he who waits on him? Is it not he who sits at table? But my position among you is that of one who waits on others.for who is greater? he who is reclining (at meat), or he who is ministering? is it not he who is reclining (at meat)? and I I am in your midst as he who is ministering.For which [is] greater, he that is at table or he that serves? [Is] not he that is at table? But *I* am in the midst of you as the one that serves.
Luke 22:28You however have remained with me amid my trials;`And ye ye are those who have remained with me in my temptations,But *ye* are they who have persevered with me in my temptations.
Luke 22:29and I covenant to give you, as my Father has covenanted to give me, a Kingdomand I appoint to you, as my Father did appoint to me, a kingdom,And *I* appoint unto you, as my Father has appointed unto me, a kingdom,
Luke 22:30so that you shall eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom, and sit on thrones as judges over the twelve tribes of Israel.that ye may eat and may drink at my table, in my kingdom, and may sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.`that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Luke 22:31"Simon, Simon, I tell you that Satan has obtained permission to have all of you to sift as wheat is sifted.And the Lord said, `Simon, Simon, lo, the Adversary did ask you for himself to sift as the wheat,And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to have you, to sift [you] as wheat;

Luke 22:34"I tell you, Peter," said Jesus, "that the cock will not crow to-day till you have three times denied that you know me."and he said, `I say to thee, Peter, a cock shall not crow to-day, before thrice thou mayest disown knowing me.`And he said, I tell thee, Peter, [the] cock shall not crow to-day before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
Luke 22:35Then He asked them, "When I sent you out without purse or bag or shoes, was there anything you needed?" "No, nothing," they replied.And he said to them, `When I sent you without bag, and scrip, and sandals, did ye lack anything?` and they said, `Nothing.`And he said to them, When I sent you without purse and scrip and sandals, did ye lack anything? And they said, Nothing.
Luke 22:36"But now," said He, "let the one who has a purse take it, and he who has a bag must do the same. And let him who has no sword sell his outer garment and buy one.Then said he to them, `But, now, he who is having a bag, let him take [it] up, and in like manner also a scrip; and he who is not having, let him sell his garment, and buy a sword,He said therefore to them, But now he that has a purse let him take [it], in like manner also a scrip, and he that has none let him sell his garment and buy a sword;
Luke 22:37For I tell you that those words of Scripture must yet find their fulfilment in me: `And He was reckoned among the lawless'; for indeed that saying about me has its accomplishment."for I say to you, that yet this that hath been written it behoveth to be fulfilled in me: And with lawless ones he was reckoned, for also the things concerning me have an end.`for I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned with [the] lawless: for also the things concerning me have an end.
Luke 22:38"Master, here are two swords," they exclaimed. "That is enough," He replied.And they said, `Sir, lo, here [are] two swords;` and he said to them, `It is sufficient.`And they said, Lord, behold here are two swords. And he said to them, It is enough.

And his sweat became as great drops of blood, falling down upon the earth.

Luke 22:46"Why are you sleeping?" He said; "stand up; and pray that you may not come into temptation."and he said to them, `Why do ye sleep? having risen, pray that ye may not enter into temptation.`And he said to them, Why sleep ye? rise up and pray that ye enter not into temptation.
Luke 22:47While He was still speaking there came a crowd with Judas, already mentioned as one of the Twelve, at their head. He went up to Jesus to kiss Him.And while he is speaking, lo, a multitude, and he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, was coming before them, and he came nigh to Jesus to kiss him,As he was yet speaking, behold, a crowd, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went on before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss him.

Luke 22:54And they arrested Him and led Him away, and brought Him to the High Priest's house, while Peter followed a good way behind.And having taken him, they led and brought him to the house of the chief priest. And Peter was following afar off,And having laid hold on him, they led him [away], and they led [him] into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed afar off.

Luke 22:57But he denied it, and declared, "Woman, I do not know him."and he disowned him, saying, `Woman, I have not known him.`But he denied [him], saying, Woman, I do not know him.
Luke 22:58Shortly afterwards a man saw him and said, "You, too, are one of them." "No, man, I am not," said Peter.And after a little, another having seen him, said, `And thou art of them!` and Peter said, `Man, I am not.`And after a short time another seeing him said, And *thou* art of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
Luke 22:59After an interval of about an hour some one else stoutly maintained: "Certainly this fellow also was with him, for in fact he is a Galilaean."And one hour, as it were, having intervened, a certain other was confidently affirming, saying, `Of a truth this one also was with him, for he is also a Galilean;`And after the lapse of about one hour another stoutly maintained it, saying, In truth this [man] also was with him, for also he is a Galilaean.
Luke 22:60"Man, I don't know what you mean," replied Peter. No sooner had he spoken than a cock crowed.and Peter said, `Man, I have not known what thou sayest;` and presently, while he is speaking, a cock crew.And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, [the] cock crew.
Luke 22:61The Master turned and looked on Peter; and Peter recollected the Master's words, how He had said to him, "This very day, before the cock crows, you will disown me three times."And the Lord having turned did look on Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him `Before a cock shall crow, thou mayest disown me thrice;`And the Lord, turning round, looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him, Before [the] cock crow thou shalt deny me thrice.

Luke 22:64or blindfolded Him, and then challenged Him. "Prove to us," they said, "that you are a prophet, by telling us who it was that struck you."and having blindfolded him, they were striking him on the face, and were questioning him, saying, `Prophesy who he is who smote thee?`and covering him up, asked him saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck thee?
Luke 22:65And they said many other insulting things to Him.and many other things, speaking evilly, they spake in regard to him.And they said many other injurious things to him.
Luke 22:66As soon as it was day, the whole body of the Elders, both High Priests and Scribes, assembled. Then He was brought into their Sanhedrin, and they asked Him,And when it became day there was gathered together the eldership of the people, chief priests also, and scribes, and they led him up to their own sanhedrim,And when it was day, the elderhood of the people, both [the] chief priests and scribes, were gathered together, and led him into their council, saying,
Luke 22:67"Are you the Christ? Tell us." "If I tell you," He replied, "you will certainly not believe;saying, `If thou be the Christ, tell us.` And he said to them, `If I may tell you, ye will not believe;If *thou* art the Christ, tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, ye will not at all believe;
Luke 22:68and if I ask you questions, you will certainly not answer.and if I also question [you], ye will not answer me or send me away;and if I should ask [you], ye would not answer me at all, nor let me go;

Luke 22:70Thereupon they cried out with one voice, "You, then, are the Son of God?" "It is as you say," He answered; "I am He."And they all said, `Thou, then, art the Son of God?` and he said unto them, `Ye say [it], because I am;`And they all said, *Thou* then art the Son of God? And he said to them, *Ye* say that I am.
Luke 22:71"What need have we of further evidence?" they said; "for we ourselves have heard it from his own lips."and they said, `What need yet have we of testimony? for we ourselves did hear [it] from his mouth.`And they said, What need have we any more of witness, for we have heard ourselves out of his mouth?
