| Romans 13:1 | Let every individual be obedient to those who rule over him; for no one is a ruler except by God's permission, and our present rulers have had their rank and power assigned to them by Him. | Let every soul to the higher authorities be subject, for there is no authority except from God, and the authorities existing are appointed by God, | Let every soul be subject to the authorities that are above [him]. For there is no authority except from God; and those that exist are set up by God. |
| Romans 13:2 | Therefore the man who rebels against his ruler is resisting God's will; and those who thus resist will bring punishment upon themselves. | so that he who is setting himself against the authority, against God`s ordinance hath resisted; and those resisting, to themselves shall receive judgment. | So that he that sets himself in opposition to the authority resists the ordinance of God; and they who [thus] resist shall bring sentence of guilt on themselves. |
