Matthew 10:1Then He called to Him His twelve disciples and gave them authority over foul spirits, to drive them out; and to cure every kind of disease and infirmity.And having called to him his twelve disciples, he gave to them power over unclean spirits, so as to be casting them out, and to be healing every sickness, and every malady.And having called his twelve disciples together, he gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of diseases, and all manner of infirmities.
Matthew 10:2Now the names of the twelve Apostles were these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James the son of Zabdi, and his brother John;And of the twelve apostles the names are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James of Zebedee, and John his brother;And the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother,
Matthew 10:3Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax-gatherer, James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax-gatherer; James of Alpheus, and Lebbeus who was surnamed Thaddeus;James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the publican, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus,
Matthew 10:4Simon the Cananaean, and Judas the Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who did also deliver him up.Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Matthew 10:5These twelve Jesus sent on a mission, after giving them their instructions: "Go not," He said, "among the Gentiles, and enter no Samaritan town;These twelve did Jesus send forth, having given command to them, saying, `To the way of the nations go not away, and into a city of the Samaritans go not in,These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not.
Matthew 10:6but, instead of that, go to the lost sheep of Israel's race.and be going rather unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.But go ye rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matthew 10:7And as you go, preach and say, `The Kingdom of the Heavens is close at hand.'`And, going on, proclaim saying that, the reign of the heavens hath come nigh;And going, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 10:8Cure the sick, raise the dead to life, cleanse lepers, drive out demons: you have received without payment, give without payment.infirm ones be healing, lepers be cleansing, dead be raising, demons be casting out freely ye did receive, freely give.Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils: freely have you received, freely give.
Matthew 10:9"Provide no gold, nor even silver nor copper to carry in your pockets;`Provide not gold, nor silver, nor brass in your girdles,Do not possess gold, nor silver, nor money in your purses:
Matthew 10:10no bag for your journey, nor change of linen, nor shoes, nor stick; for the labourer deserves his food.nor scrip for the way, nor two coats, nor sandals, nor staff for the workman is worthy of his nourishment.Nor scrip for your journey, nor two coats, nor shoes, nor a staff; for the workman is worthy of his meat.
Matthew 10:11"Whatever town or village you enter, inquire for some good man; and make his house your home till you leave the place.`And into whatever city or village ye may enter, inquire ye who in it is worthy, and there abide, till ye may go forth.And into whatsoever city or town you shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide till you go thence.
Matthew 10:12When you enter the house, salute it;And coming to the house salute it,And when you come into the house, salute it, saying: Peace be to this house.
Matthew 10:13and if the house deserves it, the peace you invoke shall come upon it. If not, your peace shall return to you.and if indeed the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it; and if it be not worthy, let your peace turn back to you.And if that house be worthy, your peace shall come upon it; but if it be not worthy, your peace shall return to you.
Matthew 10:14And whoever refuses to receive you or even to listen to your Message, as you leave that house or town, shake off the very dust from your feet.`And whoever may not receive you nor hear your words, coming forth from that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet,And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet.
Matthew 10:15I solemnly tell you that it will be more endurable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of Judgement than for that town.verily I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.Amen I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Matthew 10:16"Remember it is I who am sending you out, as sheep into the midst of wolves; prove yourselves as sagacious as serpents, and as innocent as doves.`Lo, I do send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves, be ye therefore wise as the serpents, and simple as the doves.Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves.
Matthew 10:17But beware of men; for they will deliver you up to appear before Sanhedrins, and will flog you in their synagogues;And, take ye heed of men, for they will give you up to sanhedrims, and in their synagogues they will scourge you,But beware of men. For they will deliver you up in councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.
Matthew 10:18and you will even be put on trial before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness to them and to the Gentiles.and before governors and kings ye shall be brought for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.And you shall be brought before governors, and before kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles:
Matthew 10:19But when they have delivered you up, have no anxiety as to how you shall speak or what you shall say; for at that very time it shall be given you what to say;`And whenever they may deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye may speak, for it shall be given you in that hour what ye shall speak;But when they shall deliver you up, take no thought how or what to speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what to speak.
Matthew 10:20for it is not you who will speak: it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.for ye are not the speakers, but the Spirit of your Father that is speaking in you.For it is not you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.
Matthew 10:21Brother will betray brother to death, and father, child; and children will rise against their own parents and will put them to death.`And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child, and children shall rise up against parents, and shall put them to death,The brother also shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the son: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and shall put them to death.
Matthew 10:22And you will be objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name; but he who holds out to the End he will be saved.and ye shall be hated by all because of my name, but he who hath endured to the end, he shall be saved.And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved.
Matthew 10:23Whenever they persecute you in one town, escape to the next; for I solemnly tell you that you will not have gone the round of all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.`And whenever they may persecute you in this city, flee to the other, for verily I say to you, ye may not have completed the cities of Israel till the Son of Man may come.And when they shall persecute you in this city, flee into another. Amen I say to you, you shall not finish all the cities of Israel, till the Son of man come.
Matthew 10:24"The learner is never superior to his teacher, and the servant is never superior to his master.`A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his lord;The disciple is not above the master, nor the servant above his lord.
Matthew 10:25Enough for the learner to be on a level with his teacher, and for the servant to be on a level with his master. If they have called the master of the house Baal-zebul, how much more will they slander his servants?sufficient to the disciple that he may be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord; if the master of the house they did call Beelzeboul, how much more those of his household?It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the goodman of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?
Matthew 10:26Fear them not, however; there is nothing veiled which will not be uncovered, nor secret which will not become known.`Ye may not, therefore, fear them, for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed, and hid, that shall not be known;Therefore fear them not. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed: nor hid, that shall not be known.
Matthew 10:27What I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what is whispered into your ear, proclaim upon the roofs of the houses.that which I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light, and that which you hear at the ear, proclaim on the house-tops.That which I tell you in the dark, speak ye in the light: and that which you hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops.
Matthew 10:28"And do not fear those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.`And be not afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but fear rather Him who is able both soul and body to destroy in gehenna.And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:29Do not two sparrows sell for a halfpenny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's leave.`Are not two sparrows sold for an assar? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father;Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father.
Matthew 10:30But as for you, the very hairs on your heads are all numbered.and of you even the hairs of the head are all numbered;But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Matthew 10:31Away then with fear; you are more precious than a multitude of sparrows.be not therefore afraid, than many sparrows ye are better.Fear not therefore: better are you than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:32"Every man who acknowledges me before men I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in Heaven.`Every one, therefore, who shall confess in me before men, I also will confess in him before my Father who is in the heavens;Every one therefore that shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 10:33But whoever disowns me before men I also will disown before my Father who is in Heaven.and whoever shall deny me before men, I also will deny him before my Father who is in the heavens.But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 10:34"Do not suppose that I came to bring peace to the earth: I did not come to bring peace but a sword.`Ye may not suppose that I came to put peace on the earth; I did not come to put peace, but a sword;Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword.
Matthew 10:35For I came to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;for I came to set a man at variance against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law,For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36and a man's own family will be his foes.and the enemies of a man are those of his household.And as a man's enemies shall be they of his own household.
Matthew 10:37Any one who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and any one who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;`He who is loving father or mother above me, is not worthy of me, and he who is loving son or daughter above me, is not worthy of me,He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me.
Matthew 10:38and any one who does not take up his cross and follow where I lead is not worthy of me.and whoever doth not receive his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me.
Matthew 10:39To save your life is to lose it, and to lose your life for my sake is to save it.`He who found his life shall lose it, and he who lost his life for my sake shall find it.He that findeth his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for me, shall find it.
Matthew 10:40"Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives Him who sent me.`He who is receiving you doth receive me, and he who is receiving me doth receive Him who sent me,He that receiveth you, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.
Matthew 10:41Every one who receives a prophet, because he is a prophet, will receive a prophet's reward, and every one who receives a righteous man, because he is a righteous man, will receive a righteous man's reward.he who is receiving a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet`s reward, and he who is receiving a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man`s reward,He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet: and he that receiveth a just man in the name of a just man, shall receive the reward of a just man.
Matthew 10:42And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink because he is a disciple, I solemnly tell you that he will not lose his reward."and whoever may give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say to you, he may not lose his reward.`And whosoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
