Luke 23:1 | Then the whole assembly rose and brought Him to Pilate, and began to accuse Him. | And having risen, the whole multitude of them did lead him to Pilate, | And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate. |
Luke 23:2 | "We have found this man," they said, "an agitator among our nation, forbidding the payment of tribute to Caesar, and claiming to be himself an anointed king." | and began to accuse him, saying, `This one we found perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying himself to be Christ a king.` | And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King. |
Luke 23:3 | Then Pilate asked Him, "You, then, are the King of the Jews?" "It is as you say," He replied. | And Pilate questioned him, saying, `Thou art the king of the Jews?` and he answering him, said, `Thou dost say [it].` | And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? Luke 23:5 | But they violently insisted. "He stirs up the people," they said, "throughout all Judaea with His teaching even from Galilee (where He first started) to this city." | and they were the more urgent, saying `He doth stir up the people, teaching throughout the whole of Judea having begun from Galilee unto this place.` | And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place. |
Luke 23:6 | On hearing this, Pilate inquired, "Is this man a Galilaean?" | And Pilate having heard of Galilee, questioned if the man is a Galilean, | When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean. |
Luke 23:7 | And learning that He belonged to Herod's jurisdiction he sent Him to Herod, for he too was in Jerusalem at that time. | and having known that he is from the jurisdiction of Herod, he sent him back unto Herod, he being also in Jerusalem in those days. | And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time. |
Luke 23:8 | To Herod the sight of Jesus was a great gratification, for, for a long time, he had been wanting to see Him, because he had heard so much about Him. He hoped also to see some miracle performed by Him. | And Herod having seen Jesus did rejoice exceedingly, for he was wishing for a long [time] to see him, because of hearing many things about him, and he was hoping some sign to see done by him, | And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. |

Luke 23:15 | No, nor does Herod; for he has sent him back to us; and, you see, there is nothing he has done that deserves death. | no, nor yet Herod, for I sent you back unto him, and lo, nothing worthy of death is having been done by him; | No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him. |
Luke 23:16 | I will therefore give him a light punishment and release him." | having chastised, therefore, I will release him,` | I will therefore chastise him, and release him. |

Luke 23:23 | But they urgently insisted, demanding with frantic outcries that He should be crucified; and their clamour prevailed. | And they were pressing with loud voices asking him to be crucified, and their voices, and those of the chief priests, were prevailing, | And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. |
Luke 23:24 | So Pilate gave judgement, yielding to their demand. | and Pilate gave judgment for their request being done, | And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required. |
