Matthew 28:1After the Sabbath, in the early dawn of the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Mary came to see the sepulchre.And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.
Matthew 28:2But to their amazement there had been a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord had descended from Heaven, and had come and rolled back the stone, and was sitting upon it.and lo, there came a great earthquake, for a messenger of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, having come, did roll away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it,And behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
Matthew 28:3His appearance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow.and his countenance was as lightning, and his clothing white as snow,His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow.
Matthew 28:4For fear of him the guards trembled violently, and became like dead men.and from the fear of him did the keepers shake, and they became as dead men.And for fear of him the keepers trembled and became as dead men.
Matthew 28:5But the angel said to the women, "As for you, dismiss your fears. I know that it is Jesus that you are looking for the crucified One.And the messenger answering said to the women, `Fear not ye, for I have known that Jesus, who hath been crucified, ye seek;And the angel answered and said to the women, Fear ye not: for I know that ye seek Jesus, who was crucified.
Matthew 28:6He is not here: He has come back to life, as He foretold. Come and see the place where He lay.he is not here, for he rose, as he said; come, see the place where the Lord was lying;He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Matthew 28:7And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead and is going before you into Galilee: there you shall see Him. Remember, I have told you."and having gone quickly, say ye to his disciples, that he rose from the dead; and lo, he doth go before you to Galilee, there ye shall see him; lo, I have told you.`And go quickly, and tell his disciples, that he is risen from the dead, and behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
Matthew 28:8They quickly left the tomb and ran, still terrified but full of unspeakable joy, to carry the news to His disciples.And having gone forth quickly from the tomb, with fear and great joy, they ran to tell to his disciples;And they departed quickly from the sepulcher, with fear and great joy; and ran to bring word to his disciples.
Matthew 28:9And then suddenly they saw Jesus coming to meet them. "Peace be to you," He said. And they came and clasped His feet, bowing to the ground before Him.and as they were going to tell to his disciples, then lo, Jesus met them, saying, `Hail!` and they having come near, laid hold of his feet, and did bow to him.And as they were going to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came, and held him by the feet, and worshiped him.
Matthew 28:10Then He said, "Dismiss all fear! Go and take word to my brethren to go into Galilee, and there they shall see me."Then saith Jesus to them, `Fear ye not, go away, tell to my brethren that they may go away to Galilee, and there they shall see me.`Then said Jesus to them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren, that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Matthew 28:11While they went on this errand, some of the guards came into the city and reported to the High Priests every detail of what had happened.And while they are going on, lo, certain of the watch having come to the city, told to the chief priests all the things that happened,Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed to the chief priests all the things that had been done.
Matthew 28:12So the latter held a conference with the Elders, and after consultation with them they heavily bribed the soldiers,and having been gathered together with the elders, counsel also having taken, they gave much money to the soldiers,And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,
Matthew 28:13telling them to say, "His disciples came during the night and stole his body while we were asleep."saying, `Say ye, that his disciples having come by night, stole him we being asleep;Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
Matthew 28:14"And if this," they added, "is reported to the Governor, we will satisfy him and screen you from punishment."and if this be heard by the governor, we will persuade him, and you keep free from anxiety.`And if this shall come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
Matthew 28:15So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this story was noised about among the Jews, and is current to this day.And they, having received the money, did as they were taught, and this account was spread abroad among Jews till this day.So they took the money, and did as they were instructed: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
Matthew 28:16As for the eleven disciples, they proceeded into Galilee, to the hill where Jesus had arranged to meet them.And the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mount where Jesus appointed them,Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
Matthew 28:17There they saw Him and prostrated themselves before Him. Yet some doubted.and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver.And when they saw him, they worshiped him: but some doubted.
Matthew 28:18Jesus however came near and said to them, "All power in Heaven and over the earth has been given to me.And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;And Jesus came, and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to me in heaven and upon earth.
Matthew 28:19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations; baptize them into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:20and teach them to obey every command which I have given you. And remember, I am with you always, day by day, until the Close of the Age."teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days till the full end of the age.`Teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.
