Colossians 3:1 | If however you have risen with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, enthroned at God's right hand. | If, then, ye were raised with the Christ, the things above seek ye, where the Christ is, on the right hand of God seated, | If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. |
Colossians 3:2 | Give your minds to the things that are above, not to the things that are on the earth. | the things above mind ye, not the things upon the earth, | Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. |
Colossians 3:3 | For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. | for ye did die, and your life hath been hid with the Christ in God; | For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. |
Colossians 3:4 | When Christ appears He is our true Life then you also will appear with Him in glory. | when the Christ our life may be manifested, then also we with him shall be manifested in glory. | When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory. |
Colossians 3:5 | Therefore put to death your earthward inclinations fornication, impurity, sensual passion, unholy desire, and all greed, for that is a form of idolatry. | Put to death, then, your members that [are] upon the earth whoredom, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and the covetousness, which is idolatry | Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; |
Colossians 3:6 | It is on account of these very sins that God's anger is coming, | because of which things cometh the anger of God upon the sons of the disobedience, | for which things' sake the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience. |
Colossians 3:7 | and you also were once addicted to them, while you were living under their power. | in which also ye ye did walk once, when ye lived in them; | You also once walked in those, when you lived in these things; |
Colossians 3:8 | But now you must rid yourselves of every kind of sin angry and passionate outbreaks, ill-will, evil speaking, foul-mouthed abuse so that these may never soil your lips. | but now put off, even ye, the whole anger, wrath, malice, evil-speaking, filthy talking out of your mouth. | but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. |
Colossians 3:9 | Do not speak falsehoods to one another, for you have stripped off the old self with its doings, | Lie not one to another, having put off the old man with his practices, | Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, |
Colossians 3:10 | and have clothed yourselves with the new self which is being remoulded into full knowledge so as to become like Him who created it. | and having put on the new, which is renewed in regard to knowledge, after the image of Him who did create him; | and have put on the new man, that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator, |
Colossians 3:11 | In that new creation there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free man, but Christ is everything and is in all of us. | where there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, servant, freeman but the all and in all Christ. | where there can't be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all. |
Colossians 3:12 | Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own people holy and dearly loved, with tender-heartedness, kindness, lowliness of mind, meekness, long-suffering; | Put on, therefore, as choice ones of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humble-mindedness, meekness, long-suffering, | Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; |
Colossians 3:13 | bearing with one another and readily forgiving each other, if any one has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, you also must forgive. | forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any one with any one may have a quarrel, as also the Christ did forgive you so also ye; | bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do. |
Colossians 3:14 | And over all these put on love, which is the perfect bond of union; | and above all these things, [have] love, which is a bond of the perfection, | Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. |
Colossians 3:15 | and let the peace which Christ gives settle all questionings in your hearts, to which peace indeed you were called as belonging to His one Body; and be thankful. | and let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye were called in one body, and become thankful. | Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body. Be thankful. |
Colossians 3:16 | Let the teaching concerning Christ remain as a rich treasure in your hearts. In all wisdom teach and admonish one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, and sing with grace in your hearts to God. | Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing each other, in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, in grace singing in your hearts to the Lord; | Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God. |
Colossians 3:17 | And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, and let it be through Him that you give thanks to God the Father. | and all, whatever ye may do in word or in work, [do] all things in the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks to the God and Father, through him. | Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God, the Father, through him. |
Colossians 3:18 | Married women, be submissive to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. | The wives! be subject to your own husbands, as is fit in the Lord; | Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. |
Colossians 3:19 | Married men, be affectionate to your wives, and do not treat them harshly. | the husbands! love your wives, and be not bitter with them; | Husbands, love your wives, and don't be bitter against them. |
Colossians 3:20 | Children be obedient to your parents in everything; for that is right for Christians. | the children! obey the parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord; | Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord. |
Colossians 3:21 | Fathers, do not fret and harass your children, or you may make them sullen and morose. | the fathers! vex not your children, lest they be discouraged. | Fathers, don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged. |
Colossians 3:22 | Slaves, be obedient in everything to your earthly masters; not in acts of eye service, as aiming only to please men, but with simplicity of purpose, because you fear the Lord. | The servants! obey in all things those who are masters according to the flesh, not in eye-service as men-pleasers, but in simplicity of heart, fearing God; | Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord. |
Colossians 3:23 | Whatever you are doing, let your hearts be in your work, as a thing done for the Lord and not for men. | and all, whatever ye may do out of soul work as to the Lord, and not to men, | Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, |
Colossians 3:24 | For you know that it is from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. Christ is the Master whose bondservants you are. | having known that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance for the Lord Christ ye serve; | knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord, Christ. |
Colossians 3:25 | The man who perpetrates a wrong will find the wrong repaid to him; and with God there are no merely earthly distinctions. | and he who is doing unrighteously shall receive what he did unrighteously, and there is no acceptance of persons. | For he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality. |
