Acts 10:1

Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,

Acts 10:2

a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave alms generously to the people, and always prayed to God.

Acts 10:3

At about the ninth hour of the day, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, "Cornelius!"

Acts 10:4

He, fastening his eyes on him, and being frightened, said, "What is it, Lord?" He said to him, "Your prayers and your alms have gone up for a memorial before God.

And he, fastening his eyes upon him, and being affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are gone up for a memorial before God.

And he, beholding him, being seized with fear, said: What is it, Lord? And he said to him: Thy prayers and thy alms are ascended for a memorial in the sight of God.

Acts 10:5

Now send men to Joppa, and get one Simon, who is surnamed Peter.

And now send men to Joppa, and fetch one Simon, who is surnamed Peter:

Acts 10:6

He lodges with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the seaside."

Acts 10:7

When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.

Acts 10:8

Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

and having rehearsed all things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

To whom when he had related all, he sent them to Joppe.

Acts 10:9

Now on the next day, as they were on their journey, and got close to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, at about noon.

Now on the morrow, as they were on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour:

And on the next day, whilst they were going on their journey, and drawing nigh to the city, Peter went up to the higher parts of the house to pray, about the sixth hour.

Acts 10:10

He became hungry, and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.

and he became hungry, and desired to eat: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance;

And being hungry, he was desirous to taste somewhat. And as they were preparing, there came upon him an ecstasy of mind.

Acts 10:11

He saw heaven opened, and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet, let down by four corners on the earth,

and he beholdeth the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet, let down by four corners upon the earth:

And he saw the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great linen sheet let down by the four corners from heaven to the earth:

Acts 10:12

in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the sky.

A voice came to him, "Rise, Peter, kill and eat!"

But Peter said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean."

Acts 10:15

A voice came to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed, you must not make unholy."

And a voice [came] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common.

And the voice spoke to him again the second time: That which God hath cleansed, do not thou call common.

Acts 10:16

This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven.

And this was done thrice: and straightway the vessel was received up into heaven.

And this was done thrice; and presently the vessel was taken up into heaven.

Acts 10:17

Now while Peter was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate,

and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, was lodging there.

While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men seek you.

Acts 10:20

But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them."

Acts 10:21

Peter went down to the men, and said, "Behold, I am he whom you seek. Why have you come?"

And Peter went down to the men, and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

Then Peter, going down to the men, said: Behold, I am he whom you seek; what is the cause for which you are come?

Acts 10:22

They said, "Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say.

And they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one that feareth God, and well reported of by all the nation of the Jews, was warned [of God] by a holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words from thee.

Who said: Cornelius, a centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and having good testimony from all the nation of the Jews, received an answer of an holy angel, to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

Acts 10:23

So he called them in and lodged them. On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.

Acts 10:24

On the next day they entered into Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and his near friends.

And on the morrow they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his kinsmen and his near friends.

And the morrow after, he entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, having called together his kinsmen and special friends.

Acts 10:25

When it happened that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

And when it came to pass that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

And it came to pass, that when Peter was come in, Cornelius came to meet him, Cornelius came to meet him, and falling at his feet adored.

Acts 10:26

But Peter raised him up, saying, "Stand up! I myself am also a man."

As he talked with him, he went in, and found many come together.

He said to them, "You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn't call any man unholy or unclean.

and he said unto them, Ye yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to join himself or come unto one of another nation; and [yet] unto me hath God showed that I should not call any man common or unclean:

And he said to them: You know how abominable it is for a man that is a Jew, to keep company or to come unto one of another nation: but God hath shewed to me, to call no man common or unclean.

Acts 10:29

Therefore also I came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?"

wherefore also I came without gainsaying, when I was sent for. I ask therefore with what intent ye sent for me.

For which cause, making no doubt, I came when I was sent for. I ask, therefore, for what cause you have sent for me?

Acts 10:30

Cornelius said, "Four days ago, I was fasting until this hour, and at the ninth hour, I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

And Cornelius said, Four days ago, until this hour, I was keeping the ninth hour of prayer in my house; and behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel,

And Cornelius said: Four days ago, unto this hour, I was praying in my house, at the ninth hour, and behold a man stood before me in white apparel, and said:

Acts 10:31

and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God.

and saith, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

Acts 10:32

Send therefore to Joppa, and call to you Simon, who is surnamed Peter. He lodges in the house of Simon a tanner, by the seaside. When he comes, he will speak to you.'

Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by God."

Forthwith therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all things that have been commanded thee of the Lord.

Immediately therefore I sent to thee: and thou hast done well in coming. Now therefore all we are present in thy sight, to hear all things whatsoever are commanded thee by the Lord.

Acts 10:34

Peter opened his mouth and said, "Truly I perceive that God doesn't show favoritism,

And Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

And Peter opening his mouth, said: In very deed I perceive, that God is not a respecter of persons.

Acts 10:35

but in every nation he who fears him, and works righteousness, is acceptable to him.

but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to him.

But in every nation, he that feareth him, and worketh justice, is acceptable to him.

Acts 10:36

The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all):

The word which he sent unto the children of Israel, preaching good tidings of peace by Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all.) --

God sent the word to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all.)

Acts 10:37

that spoken word you yourselves know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

that saying ye yourselves know, which was published throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

You know the word which hath been published through all Judea: for it began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached,

Acts 10:38

even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.

"Can any man forbid the water, that these who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we should not be baptized,?"

Acts 10:48

He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.
