| Exodus 40:1 | Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, | And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, |
| Exodus 40:2 | "On the first day of the first month you shall raise up the tent of the Tent of Meeting. | On the first day of the first month you are to put up the House of the Tent of meeting. | On the day of the first month, on the first of the month, shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. |
| Exodus 40:3 | You shall put the ark of the testimony in it, and you shall screen the ark with the veil. | And inside it put the ark of the law, hanging the veil before it. | And thou shalt put in it the ark of the testimony, and shalt cover the ark with the veil. |
| Exodus 40:4 | You shall bring in the table, and set in order the things that are on it. You shall bring in the lampstand, and light the lamps of it. | And put the table inside, placing all the things on it in order; and put in the support for the lights, and let its lights be burning. | And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it. And thou shalt bring in the candlestick and light its lamps. |
| Exodus 40:5 | You shall set the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the screen of the door to the tent. | And put the gold altar for burning perfumes in front of the ark of the law, hanging the curtain over the doorway of the House. | And thou shalt set the golden altar for the incense before the ark of the testimony; and hang up the curtain of the entrance to the tabernacle. |

| Exodus 40:9 | You shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tent, and all that is in it, and shall make it holy, and all its furniture: and it will be holy. | And take the holy oil and put it on the House and everything in it, and make it and everything in it holy: | And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is in it, and shalt hallow it, and all its utensils; and it shall be holy. |
| Exodus 40:10 | You shall anoint the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and sanctify the altar: and the altar will be most holy. | And put oil on the altar of burned offering, and make it and all its vessels holy; this altar is to be most holy. | And thou shalt anoint the altar of burnt-offering, and all its utensils; and thou shalt hallow the altar, and the altar shall be most holy. |

| Exodus 40:13 | You shall put on Aaron the holy garments; and you shall anoint him, and sanctify him, that he may minister to me in the priest's office. | You are to put on Aaron the holy robes; and you are to put oil on him, and make him holy, so that he may be my priest. | And thou shalt clothe Aaron with the holy garments, and anoint him, and hallow him, that he may serve me as priest. |

| Exodus 40:15 | You shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to me in the priest's office. Their anointing shall be to them for an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. | And put oil on them as you did on their father, so that they may be my priests: the putting on of oil will make them priests for ever, from generation to generation. | And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may serve me as priests. And their anointing shall be to them an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. |

| Exodus 40:19 | He spread the covering over the tent, and put the roof of the tent above on it, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | Stretching the outer tent over it, and covering it, as the Lord had given him orders. | And he spread the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above over it; as Jehovah had commanded Moses. |

| Exodus 40:27 | and he burnt incense of sweet spices on it, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | Burning sweet perfumes on it, as the Lord had given him orders. | And he burnt on it fragrant incense; as Jehovah had commanded Moses. |

| Exodus 40:33 | He raised up the court around the tent and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. | Exodus 40:35 | Moses wasn't able to enter into the tent of meeting, because the cloud stayed on it, and Yahweh's glory filled the tent. | So that Moses was not able to go into the Tent of meeting, because the cloud was resting on it, and the House was full of the glory of the Lord. | And Moses could not enter into the tent of meeting, for the cloud abode on it, and the glory of Jehovah filled the tabernacle. |
| Exodus 40:36 | When the cloud was taken up from over the tent, the children of Israel went onward, throughout all their journeys; | And whenever the cloud was taken up from the House, the children of Israel went forward on their journey: | And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel journeyed in all their journeys. |
| Exodus 40:37 | but if the cloud wasn't taken up, then they didn't travel until the day that it was taken up. | But while the cloud was there, they made no move till it was taken up. | And if the cloud were not taken up, then they did not journey until the day that it was taken up. |
