Ezekiel 27:1The word of Yahweh came again to me, saying,The word of the Lord came to me again, saying,And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying:
Ezekiel 27:2You, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre;And you, son of man, make a song of grief for Tyre;And thou, son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre,
Ezekiel 27:3and tell Tyre, you who dwell at the entry of the sea, who are the merchant of the peoples to many isles, thus says the Lord Yahweh: You, Tyre, have said, I am perfect in beauty.And say to Tyre, O you who are seated at the doorway of the sea, trading for the peoples with the great sea-lands, these are the words of the Lord: You, O Tyre, have said, I am a ship completely beautiful.and say unto Tyre: O thou that art situate at the entries of the sea, and traffickest with the peoples in many isles, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, Tyre, hast said, I am perfect in beauty.
Ezekiel 27:4Your borders are in the heart of the seas; your builders have perfected your beauty.Your builders have made your outlines in the heart of the seas, they have made you completely beautiful.Thy borders are in the heart of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.
Ezekiel 27:5They have made all your planks of fir-trees from Senir; they have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you.They have made all your boards of fir-trees from Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make the supports for your sails.They made all thy double boards of cypress-trees of Senir; they took cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.
Ezekiel 27:6Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; they have made your benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the isles of Kittim.Of oak-trees from Bashan they have made your driving blades; they have made your floors of ivory and boxwood from the sea-lands of Kittim.Of the oaks of Bashan did they make thine oars; they made thy benches of ivory, inlaid in box-wood, out of the isles of Chittim.
Ezekiel 27:7Of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt was your sail, that it might be to you for an ensign; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was your awning.The best linen with needlework from Egypt was your sail, stretched out to be a flag for you; blue and purple from the sea-lands of Elishah gave you shade.Byssus with broidered work from Egypt was thy sail, to serve thee for a banner; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning.
Ezekiel 27:8The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers: your wise men, Tyre, were in you, they were your pilots.The people of Zidon and Arvad were your boatmen; the wise men of Zemer were in you; they were guiding your ships;The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy rowers; thy wise men, O Tyre, who were in thee, were thy pilots.
Ezekiel 27:9The old men of Gebal and the wise men of it were in you your repairers of ship seams: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in you to deal in your merchandise.The responsible men of Gebal and its wise men were in you, making your boards watertight: all the ships of the sea with their seamen were in you trading in your goods.The elders of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee repairing thy leaks; all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee, to barter with thee.
Ezekiel 27:10Persia and Lud and Put were in your army, your men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in you; they set forth your comeliness.Cush and Lud and Put were in your army, your men of war, hanging up their body-covers and head-dresses of war in you: they gave you your glory.Persia and Lud and Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged shield and helmet in thee; they gave splendour to thee.
Ezekiel 27:11The men of Arvad with your army were on your walls round about, and valorous men were in your towers; they hanged their shields on your walls round about; they have perfected your beauty.The men of Arvad in your army were on your walls, and were watchmen in your towers, hanging up their arms on your walls round about; they made you completely beautiful.The children of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadim were on thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they made thy beauty perfect.
Ezekiel 27:12Tarshish was your merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for your wares.Tarshish did business with you because of the great amount of your wealth; they gave silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods.Tarshish dealt with thee by reason of the abundance of all substance; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they furnished thy markets.
Ezekiel 27:13Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were your traffickers; they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass for your merchandise.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders; they gave living men and brass vessels for your goods.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee the persons of men, and vessels of bronze.
Ezekiel 27:14They of the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses and war-horses and mules.The people of Togarmah gave horses and war-horses and transport beasts for your goods.They of the house of Togarmah furnished thy markets with horses, and horsemen, and mules.
Ezekiel 27:15The men of Dedan were your traffickers; many isles were the market of your hand: they brought you in exchange horns of ivory and ebony.The men of Rodan were your traders: a great number of sea-lands did business with you: they gave you horns of ivory and ebony as an offering.The children of Dedan were thy traffickers; many isles were the mart of thy hand: they rendered in payment horns of ivory, and ebony.
Ezekiel 27:16Syria was your merchant by reason of the multitude of your handiworks: they traded for your wares with emeralds, purple, and embroidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.Edom did business with you because of the great number of things which you made; they gave emeralds, purple, and needlework, and the best linen and coral and rubies for your goods.Syria dealt with thee for the multitude of thy handiworks: they traded in thy markets with carbuncles, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and corals, and rubies.
Ezekiel 27:17Judah, and the land of Israel, they were your traffickers: they traded for your merchandise wheat of Minnith, and confections, and honey, and oil, and balm.Judah and the land of Israel were your traders; they gave grain of Minnith and sweet cakes and honey and oil and perfume for your goods.Judah and the land of Israel were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee wheat of Minnith, and sweet cakes, and honey, and oil, and balm.
Ezekiel 27:18Damascus was your merchant for the multitude of your handiworks, by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.Damascus did business with you because of the great amount of your wealth, with wine of Helbon and white wool.Damascus dealt with thee because of the multitude of thy handiworks, by reason of the abundance of all substance, with wine of Helbon, and white wool.
Ezekiel 27:19Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for your wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among your merchandise.... for your goods: they gave polished iron and spices for your goods.Vedan and Javan of Uzal traded in thy markets: wrought iron, cassia, and calamus were in thy traffic.
Ezekiel 27:20Dedan was your trafficker in precious cloths for riding.Dedan did trade with you in cloths for the backs of horses.Dedan was thy trafficker in precious riding-cloths.
Ezekiel 27:21Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they were the merchants of your hand; in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these were they your merchants.Arabia and all the rulers of Kedar did business with you; in lambs and sheep and goats, in these they did business with you.Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were the merchants of thy hand: in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these did they trade with thee.
Ezekiel 27:22The traffickers of Sheba and Raamah, they were your traffickers; they traded for your wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.The traders of Sheba and Raamah did trade with you; they gave the best of all sorts of spices and all sorts of stones of great price and gold for your goods.The merchants of Sheba and Raamah were thy traffickers: they furnished thy markets with all the choice spices, and with all precious stones and gold.
Ezekiel 27:23Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traffickers of Sheba, Asshur [and] Chilmad, were your traffickers.Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traders of Asshur and all the Medes:Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad traded with thee:
Ezekiel 27:24These were your traffickers in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and embroidered work, and in chests of rich clothing, bound with cords and made of cedar, among your merchandise.These were your traders in beautiful robes, in rolls of blue and needlework, and in chests of coloured cloth, corded with cords and made of cedar-wood, in them they did trade with you.these traded with thee in sumptuous clothes, in wrappings of blue and broidered work, and in chests full of variegated stuffs, bound with cords and made of cedar-wood, amongst thy merchandise.
Ezekiel 27:25The ships of Tarshish were your caravans for your merchandise: and you were replenished, and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.Tarshish ships did business for you in your goods: and you were made full, and great was your glory in the heart of the seas.The ships of Tarshish were thy caravans for thy traffic; and thou wast replenished, and highly honoured, in the heart of the seas.
Ezekiel 27:26Your rowers have brought you into great waters: the east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas.Your boatmen have taken you into great waters: you have been broken by the east wind in the heart of the seas.Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters; the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.
Ezekiel 27:27Your riches, and your wares, your merchandise, your mariners, and your pilots, your repairers of ship seams, and the dealers in your merchandise, and all your men of war, who are in you, with all your company which is in the midst of you, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.Your wealth and your goods, the things in which you do trade, your seamen and those guiding your ships, those who make your boards watertight, and those who do business with your goods, and all your men of war who are in you, with all who have come together in you, will go down into the heart of the seas in the day of your downfall.Thy substance, and thy markets, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, they that repair thy leaks, and they that barter with thee, and all thy men of war that are in thee, along with all thine assemblage which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy fall.
Ezekiel 27:28At the sound of the cry of your pilots the suburbs shall shake.At the sound of the cry of your ships' guides, the boards of the ship will be shaking.The open places shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.
Ezekiel 27:29All who handled the oar, the mariners, [and] all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand on the land,And all the boatmen, the seamen and those who are expert at guiding a ship through the sea, will come down from their ships and take their places on the land;And all that handle the oar, the mariners, all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand upon the land,
Ezekiel 27:30and shall cause their voice to be heard over you, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust on their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:And their voices will be sounding over you, and crying bitterly they will put dust on their heads, rolling themselves in the dust:and shall cause their voice to be heard over thee, and shall cry bitterly; and they shall cast up dust upon their heads; they shall wallow themselves in ashes.
Ezekiel 27:31and they shall make themselves bald for you, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for you in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.And they will have the hair of their heads cut off because of you, and will put haircloth on their bodies, weeping for you with bitter grief in their souls, even with bitter sorrow.And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird themselves with sackcloth; and they shall weep for thee in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.
Ezekiel 27:32In their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, [saying], Who is there like Tyre, like her who is brought to silence in the midst of the sea?And in their weeping they will make a song of grief for you, sorrowing over you and saying, Who is like Tyre, who has come to an end in the deep sea?And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, [saying,] Who is like Tyre, like her that is destroyed in the midst of the sea?
Ezekiel 27:33When your wares went forth out of the seas, you filled many peoples; you did enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.When your goods went out over the seas, you made numbers of peoples full; the wealth of the kings of the earth was increased with your great wealth and all your goods.When thy wares went forth over the seas, thou filledst many peoples; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the abundance of thy substance and of thy merchandise.
Ezekiel 27:34In the time that you were broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, your merchandise and all your company did fall in the midst of you.Now that you are broken by the seas in the deep waters, your goods and all your people will go down with you.In the time [when] thou art broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters, thy merchandise and all thine assemblage in the midst of thee have fallen.
Ezekiel 27:35All the inhabitants of the isles are astonished at you, and their kings are horribly afraid; they are troubled in their face.All the people of the sea-lands are overcome with wonder at you, and their kings are full of fear, their faces are troubled.All the inhabitants of the isles are amazed at thee, and their kings are horribly afraid, [their] countenance is troubled.
Ezekiel 27:36The merchants among the peoples hiss at you; you are become a terror, and you shall nevermore have any being.Those who do business among the peoples make sounds of surprise at you; you have become a thing of fear, you have come to an end for ever.The merchants among the peoples hiss at thee; thou art become a terror, and thou shalt never be any more.
