Mark 8:1In those days, when there was a very great multitude, and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to himself, and said to them,In those days again, when there was a great mass of people and they had no food, he made his disciples come to him and said to them,In those days again, when there was a great multitude, and had nothing to eat; calling his disciples together, he saith to them:
Mark 8:2"I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat.I have pity for these people because they have been with me now three days, and have no food;I have compassion on the multitude, for behold they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat.
Mark 8:3If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way."If I send them away to their houses with no food, they will be overcome by weariness on the way; and some of them have come from far.And if I shall send them away fasting to their home, they will faint in the way; for some of them came from afar off.
Mark 8:4His disciples answered him, "From where will one be able to fill these men with bread here in a desert place?"And his disciples said in answer, How will it be possible to get enough bread for these men here in a waste place? And his disciples answered him: From whence can any one fill them here with bread in the wilderness?
Mark 8:5He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" They said, "Seven."And he put the question, How much bread have you? And they said, Seven cakes. And he asked them: How many loaves have ye? Who said: Seven.
Mark 8:6He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them, and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the multitude. And he made the people be seated on the earth: and he took the seven cakes and, having given praise, he gave the broken bread to his disciples to put before them; and they put it before the people. And taking the seven loaves, giving thanks, he broke, and gave to his disciples for to set before them; and they set them before the people.
Mark 8:7They had a few small fish. Having blessed them, he said to serve these also. And they had some small fishes; and blessing them he had them put before the people in the same way.And they had a few little fishes; and he blessed them, and commanded them to be set before them.
Mark 8:8They ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets of broken pieces that were left over. And they took the food, and had enough; and they took up seven baskets full of the broken bits. And they did eat and were filled; and they took up that which was left of the fragments, seven baskets.
Mark 8:9Those who had eaten were about four thousand. Then he sent them away. And there were about four thousand people: and he sent them away. And they that had eaten were about four thousand; and he sent them away.
Mark 8:10Immediately he entered into the boat with his disciples, and came into the region of Dalmanutha. And he got into the boat with his disciples straight away, and came into the country of Dalmanutha. And immediately going up into a ship with his disciples, he came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
Mark 8:11The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking a sign from heaven from him, and tempting him.And the Pharisees came out and put questions to him, requesting from him a sign from heaven, testing him.And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, asking him a sign from heaven, tempting him.
Mark 8:12He sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, "Why does this generation seek a sign? Most assuredly I tell you, there will no sign be given to this generation."And he was very sad in spirit, and said, Why is this generation looking for a sign? truly, I say to you, No sign will be given to this generation. And sighing deeply in spirit, he saith: Why doth this generation seek a sign? Amen, I say to you, a sign shall not be given to this generation.
Mark 8:13He left them, and again entering into the boat, departed to the other side. And he went away from them, and again got into the boat and went across to the other side. And leaving them, he went up again into the ship, and passed to the other side of the water.
Mark 8:14They forgot to take bread; and they didn't have more than one loaf in the boat with them. And they had taken no thought to get bread; and they had only one cake of bread with them in the boat. And they forgot to take bread; and they had but one loaf with them in the ship.
Mark 8:15He charged them, saying, "Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod."And he said to them, Take care to be on the watch against the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod. And he charged them, saying: Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
Mark 8:16They reasoned with one another, saying, "It's because we have no bread."And they said to one another, We have no bread. And they reasoned among themselves, saying: Because we have no bread.
Mark 8:17Jesus, perceiving it, said to them, "Why do you reason that it's because you have no bread? Don't you perceive yet, neither understand? Is your heart still hardened? And Jesus, hearing it, said to them, Why are you reasoning among yourselves because you have no bread? do you still not see, and is it still not clear to you? are your hearts so hard?Which Jesus knowing, saith to them: Why do you reason, because you have no bread? do you not yet know nor understand? have you still your heart blinded?

Mark 8:19When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They told him, "Twelve."When I made a division of the five cakes of bread among the five thousand, what number of baskets full of broken bits did you take up? They said to him, Twelve. When I broke the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took you up? They say to him, Twelve.
Mark 8:20"When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They told him, "Seven."And when the seven among the four thousand, what number of baskets full of broken bits did you take up? Mark 8:23He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything. And he took the blind man by the hand, and went with him out of the town; and when he had put water from his mouth on his eyes, and put his hands on him, he said, Do you see anything? And taking the blind man by the hand, he led him out of the town; and spitting upon his eyes, laying his hands on him, he asked him if he saw any thing.

Mark 8:25Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly. Then again he put his hands on his eyes; and looking hard, he was able to see, and saw all things clearly. After that again he laid his hands upon his eyes, and he began to see, and was restored, so that he saw all things clearly.
Mark 8:26He sent him away to his house, saying, "Don't enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village."And he sent him away to his house, saying, Do not even go into the town. And he sent him into his house, saying: Go into thy house, and if thou enter into the town, tell nobody.

And in the way, he asked his disciples, saying to them: Whom do men say that I am?

Mark 8:29He asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ."And he said to them, But who do you say I am? Peter said in answer, You are the Christ. Then he saith to them: But whom do you say that I am? Peter answering said to him: Thou art the Christ.
Mark 8:30He charged them that they should tell no one about him.And he put them under orders not to say this of him to anyone. And he strictly charged them that they should not tell any man of him.
Mark 8:31He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. And teaching them, he said that the Son of man would have to undergo much, and be hated by those in authority, and the chief priests, and the scribes, and be put to death, and after three days come back from the dead. And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the ancients and by the high priests, and the scribes, and be killed: and after three days rise again.

For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men."But he, turning about, and seeing his disciples, said sharply to Peter, Get out of my way, Satan: for your mind is not on the things of God, but on the things of men.Who turning about and seeing his disciples, threatened Peter, saying: Go behind me, Satan, because thou savorest not the things that are of God, but that are of men.
