Immediately the fig tree withered away. And seeing a fig-tree by the wayside, he came to it, and saw nothing on it but leaves only; and he said to it, Let there be no fruit from you from this time forward for ever. And straight away the fig-tree became dry and dead. And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
Matthew 21:20When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree immediately wither away?"And when the disciples saw it they were surprised, saying, How did the fig-tree become dry in so short a time? And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
Matthew 21:21Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly I tell you, if you have faith, and don't doubt, you will not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if you will tell this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will be done. And Jesus in answer said to them, Truly I say to you, If you have faith, without doubting, not only may you do what has been done to the fig-tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and put into the sea, it will be done.Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Matthew 21:25The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven or from men?" They reasoned with themselves, saying, "If we will say, 'From heaven,' he will tell us, 'Why then did you not believe him?'The baptism of John, where did it come from? from heaven or from men? And they were reasoning among themselves, saying, If we say, From heaven; he will say to us, Why then did you not have faith in him?The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
Matthew 21:26But if we will say, 'From men,' we fear the multitude, for all hold John as a prophet."But if we say, From men; we are in fear of the people, because all take John to be a prophet. But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
Matthew 21:27They answered Jesus, and said, "We don't know." He also said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things. And they made answer and said, We have no idea. Then he said to them, And I will not say to you by what authority I do these things. And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
Matthew 21:28But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work today in my vineyard.'But how does it seem to you? A man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go and do work today in the vine-garden.But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
Matthew 21:29He answered, 'I will not,' but afterward he repented himself, and went. And he said in answer, I will not: but later, changing his decision, he went.He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
Matthew 21:30He came to the second, and said likewise. He answered, 'I go, sir,' but he didn't go.And he came to the second and said the same. And he made answer and said, I go, sir: and went not.And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
Matthew 21:31Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said to him, "The first." Jesus says to them, "Most assuredly I tell you, that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into the kingdom of God before you.Which of the two did his father's pleasure? They say, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, that tax-farmers and loose women are going into the kingdom of God before you.Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
Matthew 21:32For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn't believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn't even repent afterward, that you might believe him.For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you had no faith in him, but the tax-farmers and the loose women had faith in him: and you, when you saw it, did not even have regret for your sins, so as to have faith in him.For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
Matthew 21:33"Hear another parable. There was a man who was a master of a household, who planted a vineyard, set a hedge about it, dug a winepress in it, built a tower, leased it out to farmers, and went into another country.Give ear to another story. A master of a house made a vine garden, and put a wall round it, and made a place for crushing out the wine, and made a tower, and let it out to field-workers, and went into another country.Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
Matthew 21:34When the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the farmers, to receive his fruits. And when the time for the fruit came near, he sent his servants to the workmen, to get the fruit. And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
Matthew 21:35The farmers took his servants, beat one, killed another, and stoned another. And the workmen made an attack on his servants, giving blows to one, putting another to death, and stoning another. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
Matthew 21:36Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did to them in like manner.Again, he sent other servants more in number than the first: and they did the same to them.Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
Matthew 21:37But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, 'They will respect my son.'But after that he sent his son to them, saying, They will have respect for my son.But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
Matthew 21:38But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him, and seize his inheritance.'But when the workmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is he who will one day be the owner of the property; come, let us put him to death and take his heritage. But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
Matthew 21:39So they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.And they took him and, driving him out of the vine-garden, put him to death. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
Matthew 21:40When therefore the lord of the vineyard will come, what will he do to those farmers?"When, then, the lord of the vine-garden comes, what will he do to those workmen? When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
Matthew 21:41They told him, "He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will lease out the vineyard to other farmers, who will give him the fruits in their seasons."They say to him, He will put those cruel men to a cruel death, and will let out the vine-garden to other workmen, who will give him the fruit when it is ready. They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
Matthew 21:42Jesus said to them, "Did you never read in the scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner. This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes?'Jesus says to them, Did you never see in the Writings, The stone which the builders put on one side, the same has been made the chief stone of the building: this was the Lord's doing, and it is a wonder in our eyes?Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
Matthew 21:43"Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation bringing forth its fruits. For this reason I say to you, The kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation producing the fruits of it.Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Matthew 21:44He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but on whoever it will fall, it will scatter him as dust."Any man falling on this stone will be broken, but he on whom it comes down will be crushed to dust. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Matthew 21:45When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them. And when his stories came to the ears of the chief priests and the Pharisees, they saw that he was talking of them. And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
Matthew 21:46When they sought to lay hold on him, they feared the multitudes, because they took him for a prophet. And though they had a desire to take him, they were in fear of the people, because in their eyes he was a prophet. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
