| Luke 18:1 | He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up, | And he made a story for them, the point of which was that men were to go on making prayer and not get tired; | And he spoke a parable to them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; |
| Luke 18:2 | saying, "A certain judge was in a city, who didn't fear God, and didn't respect man. | Saying, There was a judge in a certain town, who had no fear of God or respect for man: | Saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, neither regarded man. |
| Luke 18:3 | A widow was in that city, and she came often to him, saying, 'Defend me from my adversary!' | And there was a widow in that town, and she kept on coming to him and saying, Give me my right against the man who has done me wrong. | And there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of my adversary. |
