| Exodus 34:1 | Yahweh said to Moses, "Chisel two stone tablets like the first: and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. | And the Lord said to Moses, Make two other stones like the first two; and I will put on them the words which were on the first stones, which were broken by you. | |
| Exodus 34:2 | Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain. | And be ready by the morning, and come up on Mount Sinai, and come before me there in the morning, on the top of the mountain. | |
| Exodus 34:3 | No one shall come up with you; neither let anyone be seen throughout all the mountain; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mountain." | No one is to come up with you, and let no man be seen anywhere on the mountain; let no flocks or herds come near to get their food at its foot. | |
| Exodus 34:4 | He chiseled two tablets of stone like the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to Mount Sinai, as Yahweh had commanded him, and took in his hand two stone tablets. | So Moses got two stones cut like the first; and early in the morning he went up Mount Sinai, as the Lord had said, with the two stones in his hand. | |

| Exodus 34:7 | keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children's children, on the third and on the fourth generation." | Having mercy on thousands, overlooking evil and wrongdoing and sin; he will not let wrongdoers go free, but will send punishment on children for the sins of their fathers, and on their children's children to the third and fourth generation. | |

| Exodus 34:14 | for you shall worship no other god: for Yahweh, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. | For you are to be worshippers of no other god: for the Lord is a God who will not give his honour to another. | |
| Exodus 34:15 | Don't make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, lest they play the prostitute after their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and one call you and you eat of his sacrifice; | So see that you make no agreement with the people of the land, and do not go after their gods, or take part in their offerings, or be guests at their feasts, | |
| Exodus 34:16 | and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods, and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods. | Or take their daughters for your sons; for when their daughters give worship before their gods, they will make your sons take part with them. | |

| Exodus 34:18 | "You shall keep the feast of unleavened bread. For all the first of your sons you are to make payment. No one is to come before me without an offering. | |

He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. | And for forty days and forty nights Moses was there with the Lord, and in that time he had no food or drink.
