| Luke 18:1 | He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up, | And he made a story for them, the point of which was that men were to go on making prayer and not get tired; | He also taught them by a parable that they must always pray and never lose heart. |
| Luke 18:2 | saying, "A certain judge was in a city, who didn't fear God, and didn't respect man. | Saying, There was a judge in a certain town, who had no fear of God or respect for man: | "In a certain town," He said, "there was a judge who had no fear of God and no respect for man. |
| Luke 18:3 | A widow was in that city, and she came often to him, saying, 'Defend me from my adversary!' | And there was a widow in that town, and she kept on coming to him and saying, Give me my right against the man who has done me wrong. | And in the same town was a widow who repeatedly came and entreated him, saying, "`Give me justice and stop my oppressor.' |
