Genesis 21:1Yahweh visited Sarah as he had said, and Yahweh did to Sarah as he had spoken.And the Lord came to Sarah as he had said and did to her as he had undertaken.And Jehovah hath looked after Sarah as He hath said, and Jehovah doth to Sarah as He hath spoken;
Genesis 21:2Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.And Sarah became with child, and gave Abraham a son when he was old, at the time named by God.and Sarah conceiveth, and beareth a son to Abraham, to his old age, at the appointed time that God hath spoken of with him;
Genesis 21:3Abraham called his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.And Abraham gave to his son, to whom Sarah had given birth, the name Isaac.and Abraham calleth the name of his son who is born to him, whom Sarah hath born to him Isaac;
Genesis 21:4Abraham circumcised his son, Isaac, when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.And when his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham made him undergo circumcision, as God had said to him.and Abraham circumciseth Isaac his son, [being] a son of eight days, as God hath commanded him.
Genesis 21:5Abraham was one hundred years old when his son, Isaac, was born to him.Now Abraham was a hundred years old when the birth of Isaac took place.And Abraham [is] a son of a hundred years in Isaac his son being born to him,
Genesis 21:6Sarah said, "God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me."And Sarah said, God has given me cause for laughing, and everyone who has news of it will be laughing with me.and Sarah saith, `God hath made laughter for me; every one who is hearing laugheth for me.`
Genesis 21:7She said, "Who would have said to Abraham, that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age."And she said, Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would have a child at her breast? for see, I have given him a son now when he is old.She saith also, `Who hath said to Abraham, Sarah hath suckled sons, that I have born a son for his old age?`
Genesis 21:8The child grew, and was weaned. Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.And when the child was old enough to be taken from the breast, Abraham made a great feast.And the lad groweth, and is weaned, and Abraham maketh a great banquet in the day of Isaac`s being weaned;
Genesis 21:9Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking.And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian playing with Isaac.and Sarah seeth the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she hath borne to Abraham, mocking,
Genesis 21:10Therefore she said to Abraham, "Cast out this handmaid and her son! For the son of this handmaid will not be heir with my son, even with Isaac."So she said to Abraham, Send away that woman and her son: for the son of that woman is not to have a part in the heritage with my son Isaac.and she saith to Abraham, `Cast out this handmaid and her son; for the son of this handmaid hath no possession with my son with Isaac.`
Genesis 21:11The thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight on account of his son.And this was a great grief to Abraham because of his son.And the thing is very wrong in the eyes of Abraham, for his son`s sake;
Genesis 21:12God said to Abraham, "Don't let it be grievous in your sight because of the boy, and because of your handmaid. In all that Sarah says to you, listen to her voice. For from Isaac will your seed be called.But God said, Let it not be a grief to you because of the boy and Hagar his mother; give ear to whatever Sarah says to you, because it is from Isaac that your seed will take its name.and God saith unto Abraham, `Let it not be wrong in thine eyes because of the youth, and because of thy handmaid: all that Sarah saith unto thee hearken to her voice, for in Isaac is a seed called to thee.
Genesis 21:13Also of the son of the handmaid will I make a nation, because he is your seed."And I will make a nation of the son of your servant-woman, because he is your seed.As to the son of the handmaid also, for a nation I set him, because he [is] thy seed.`
Genesis 21:14Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a bottle of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and gave her the child, and sent her away. She departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.And early in the morning Abraham got up, and gave Hagar some bread and a water-skin, and put the boy on her back, and sent her away: and she went, wandering in the waste land of Beer-sheba.And Abraham riseth early in the morning, and taketh bread, and a bottle of water, and giveth unto Hagar (placing [it] on her shoulder), also the lad, and sendeth her out; and she goeth on, and goeth astray in the wilderness of Beer-Sheba;
Genesis 21:15The water in the bottle was spent, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.And when all the water in the skin was used up, she put the child down under a tree.and the water is consumed from the bottle, and she placeth the lad under one of the shrubs.
Genesis 21:16She went and sat down opposite him, a good way off, about a bow shot away. For she said, "Don't let me see the death of the child." She sat over against him, and lifted up her voice, and wept.And she went some distance away, about an arrow flight, and seating herself on the earth, she gave way to bitter weeping, saying, Let me not see the death of my child.And she goeth and sitteth by herself over-against, afar off, about a bow-shot, for she said, `Let me not look on the death of the lad;` and she sitteth over-against, and lifteth up her voice, and weepeth.
Genesis 21:17God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, "What ails you, Hagar? Don't be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is.And the boy's cry came to the ears of God; and the angel of God said to Hagar from heaven, Hagar, why are you weeping? have no fear, for the child's cry has come to the ears of God.And God heareth the voice of the youth; and the messenger of God calleth unto Hagar from the heavens, and saith to her, `What to thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath hearkened unto the voice of the youth where he [is];
Genesis 21:18Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him in your hand. For I will make him a great nation."Come, take your child in your arms, for I will make of him a great nation.rise, lift up the youth, and lay hold on him with thy hand, for for a great nation I set him.`
Genesis 21:19God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the bottle with water, and gave the boy drink.Then God made her eyes open, and she saw a water-spring, and she got water in the skin and gave the boy a drink.And God openeth her eyes, and she seeth a well of water, and she goeth and filleth the bottle [with] water, and causeth the youth to drink;
Genesis 21:20God was with the boy, and he grew. He lived in the wilderness, and became, as he grew up, an archer.And God was with the boy, and he became tall and strong, and he became a bowman, living in the waste land.and God is with the youth, and he groweth, and dwelleth in the wilderness, and is an archer;
Genesis 21:21He lived in the wilderness of Paran. His mother took a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.And while he was in the waste land of Paran, his mother got him a wife from the land of Egypt.and he dwelleth in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother taketh for him a wife from the land of Egypt.
Genesis 21:22It happened at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his host spoke to Abraham, saying, "God is with you in all that you do.Now at that time, Abimelech and Phicol, the captain of his army, said to Abraham, I see that God is with you in all you do.And it cometh to pass at that time that Abimelech speaketh Phichol also, head of his host unto Abraham, saying, `God [is] with thee in all that thou art doing;
Genesis 21:23Now therefore swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son. But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall do to me, and to the land in which you have sojourned."Now, then, give me your oath, in the name of God, that you will not be false to me or to my sons after me, but that as I have been good to you, so you will be to me and to this land where you have been living.and now, swear to me by God here: thou dost not lie to me, or to my continuator, or to my successor; according to the kindness which I have done with thee thou dost with me, and with the land in which thou hast sojourned.`
Genesis 21:24Abraham said, "I will swear."And Abraham said, I will give you my oath.And Abraham saith, `I I do swear.`
Genesis 21:25Abraham complained to Abimelech because of a water well, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.But Abraham made a protest to Abimelech because of a water-hole which Abimelech's servants had taken by force.And Abraham reasoned with Abimelech concerning the matter of a well of water which Abimelech`s servants have taken violently away,
Genesis 21:26Abimelech said, I don't know who has done this thing. Neither did you tell me, neither did I hear of it, until today."But Abimelech said, I have no idea who has done this thing; you never gave me word of it, and I had no knowledge of it till this day.and Abimelech saith, `I have not known who hath done this thing, and even thou didst not declare to me, and I also, I have not heard save to-day.`
Genesis 21:27Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them to Abimelech. Those two made a covenant.And Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech, and the two of them made an agreement together.And Abraham taketh sheep and oxen, and giveth to Abimelech, and they make, both of them, a covenant;
Genesis 21:28Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.And Abraham put seven young lambs of the flock on one side by themselves.and Abraham setteth seven Lambs of the flock by themselves.
Genesis 21:29Abimelech said to Abraham, "What do these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves mean?"Then Abimelech said, What are these seven lambs which you have put on one side?And Abimelech saith unto Abraham, `What [are] they these seven lambs which thou hast set by themselves?`
Genesis 21:30He said, "You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, that it may be a witness to me, that I have dug this well."And he said, Take these seven lambs from me as a witness that I have made this water-hole.And he saith, `For the seven lambs thou dost accept from my hand, so that it becometh a witness for me that I have digged this well;`
Genesis 21:31Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because they both swore there.So he gave that place the name Beer-sheba, because there the two of them had given their oaths.therefore hath he called that place `Beer-Sheba,` for there have both of them sworn.
Genesis 21:32So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Abimelech rose up with Phicol, the captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.So they made an agreement at Beer-sheba, and Abimelech and Phicol, the captain of his army, went back to the land of the Philistines.And they make a covenant in Beer-Sheba, and Abimelech riseth Phichol also, head of his host and they turn back unto the land of the Philistines;
