| John 16:1 | "These things have I spoken to you, so that you wouldn't be caused to stumble. | These things I have spoken unto you that ye may not be offended. | I have said these things to you so that you may not be in doubt. |
| John 16:2 | They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God. | They shall put you out of the synagogues; but the hour is coming that every one who kills you will think to render service to God; | They will put you out of the Synagogues: yes, the time is coming when whoever puts you to death will have the belief that he is doing God's pleasure. |
| John 16:3 | They will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. | and these things they will do because they have not known the Father nor me. | They will do these things to you because they have not had knowledge of the Father or of me. |
| John 16:4 | But I have told you these things, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn't tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you. | But I have spoken these things to you, that when their hour shall have come, ye may remember them, that I have said [them] unto you. But I did not say these things unto you from [the] beginning, because I was with you. | I have said these things to you so that when the time comes, what I have said may come to your mind.
