John 2:1The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. Jesus' mother was there. And on the third day a marriage took place in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. On the third day two people were going to be married at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there:
John 2:2Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage. And Jesus also, and his disciples, were invited to the marriage. And Jesus with his disciples came as guests.
John 2:3When the wine ran out, Jesus' Mother said to him, "They have no wine."And wine being deficient, the mother of Jesus says to him, They have no wine. When they had not enough wine, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine.
John 2:4Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come."Jesus says to her, What have I to do with thee, woman? mine hour has not yet come.Jesus said to her, Woman, this is not your business; my time is still to come.
John 2:5His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it."His mother says to the servants, Whatever he may say to you, do.His mother said to the servants, Whatever he says to you, do it.
John 2:6Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews' manner of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece. Now there were standing there six stone water-vessels, according to the purification of the Jews, holding two or three measures each. Now six pots of stone, every one taking two or three firkins of water, were placed there for the purpose of washing, as is the way of the Jews.
John 2:7Jesus said to them, "Fill the water pots with water." They filled them up to the brim.Jesus says to them, Fill the water-vessels with water. And they filled them up to the brim.Jesus said to the servants, Make the pots full of water. And they made them full to the top.
John 2:8He said to them, "Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast." They took it.And he says to them, Draw out now, and carry [it] to the feast-master. And they carried [it].Then he said to them, Now take some, and give it to the master of the feast. So they took it to him.
John 2:9When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn't know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom,But when the feast-master had tasted the water which had been made wine (and knew not whence it was, but the servants knew who drew the water), the feast-master calls the bridegroom,After tasting the water which had now become wine, the master of the feast (having no idea where it came from, though it was clear to the servants who took the water out) sent for the newly-married man,
John 2:10and said to him, "Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!"and says to him, Every man sets on first the good wine, and when [men] have well drunk, then the inferior; thou hast kept the good wine till now.And said to him, Every man first puts out his best wine and when all have had enough he puts out what is not so good; but you have kept the good wine till now.
John 2:11This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory. His disciples believed in him. This beginning of signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him. This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee and let his glory be seen openly; and his disciples put their faith in him.
John 2:12After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and there they stayed not many days. After this he descended to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brethren and his disciples; and there they abode not many days. After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples, and they were there not more than two or three days.
John 2:13The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And the passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. The time of the Passover of the Jews was near and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
John 2:14He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting. And he found in the temple the sellers of oxen and sheep and doves, and the money-changers sitting; And there in the Temple he saw men trading in oxen and sheep and doves, and he saw the changers of money in their seats:
John 2:15He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overthrew their tables.and, having made a scourge of cords, he cast [them] all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the change of the money-changers, and overturned the tables,And he made a whip of small cords and put them all out of the Temple, with the sheep and the oxen, sending in all directions the small money of the changers and overturning their tables;
John 2:16To those who sold the doves, he said, "Take these things out of here! Don't make my Father's house a marketplace!"and said to the sellers of doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise. And to those who were trading in doves he said, Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a market.
John 2:17His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will eat me up."[And] his disciples remembered that it is written, The zeal of thy house devours me.And it came to the minds of the disciples that the Writings say, I am on fire with passion for your house.
John 2:18The Jews therefore answered him, "What sign do you show to us, seeing that you do these things?"The Jews therefore answered and said to him, What sign shewest thou to us, that thou doest these things? Then the Jews put this question to him: What sign of authority have you to give us, seeing that you do these things?
John 2:19Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.And Jesus said to them, Send destruction on this Temple and I will put it up again in three days.
John 2:20The Jews therefore said, "Forty-six years was this temple in building, and will you raise it up in three days?"The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple building, and thou wilt raise it up in three days? The Jews said, The building of this Temple took forty-six years; and you will put it up in three days!
John 2:21But he spoke of the temple of his body. But *he* spoke of the temple of his body. But his words were about that holy building which was his body.
John 2:22When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said. When therefore he was raised from among [the] dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken. So when he had come back again from the dead, the memory of these words came back to the disciples, and they had faith in the holy Writings and in the word which Jesus had said.
John 2:23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.And when he was in Jerusalem, at the passover, at the feast, many believed on his name, beholding his signs which he wrought. Now while he was in Jerusalem at the feast of the Passover, a great number of people came to have faith in his name, after seeing the signs which he did.
John 2:24But Jesus didn't trust himself to them, because he knew all people,But Jesus himself did not trust himself to them, because he knew all [men],But Jesus did not have faith in them, because he had knowledge of them all.
John 2:25and because he didn't need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.and that he had not need that any should testify of man, for himself knew what was in man.He had no need for any witness about man; for he himself had knowledge of what was in man.
