Micah 7:1 | Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grape gleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat; my soul desires the first-ripe fig. | Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer-fruits, as the grape-gleanings of the vintage. There is no cluster to eat; there is no early fruit [which] my soul desired. | Sorrow is mine! for I am as when they have got in the summer fruits, like the last of the grapes: there is nothing for food, not even an early fig for my desire. |
Micah 7:2 | The godly man is perished out of the earth, and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net. | The godly [man] hath perished out of the land, and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood, they hunt every man his brother with a net. | The good man is gone from the earth, there is no one upright among men: they are all waiting secretly for blood, every man is going after his brother with a net. |
Micah 7:3 | Their hands are on that which is evil to do it diligently; the prince asks, and the judge [is ready] for a reward; and the great man, he utters the evil desire of his soul: thus they weave it together. | Both hands are for evil, to do it well. The prince asketh, and the judge [is there] for a reward; and the great [man] uttereth his soul's greed: and [together] they combine it. | Their hands are made ready to do evil; the ruler makes requests for money, and the judge is looking for a reward; and the great man gives decisions at his pleasure, and the right is twisted. |
Micah 7:4 | The best of them is as a brier; the most upright is [worse] than a thorn hedge: the day of your watchmen, even your visitation, is come; now shall be their perplexity. | The best of them is as a briar; the most upright, [worse] than a thorn-fence. The day of thy watchmen, thy visitation is come; now shall be their perplexity. | The best of them is like a waste plant, and their upright ones are like a wall of thorns. Sorrow! the day of their fate has come; now will trouble come on them. |
Micah 7:5 | Don't you trust in a neighbor; don't you put confidence in a friend; keep the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom. | Believe ye not in a companion, put not confidence in a familiar friend: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. | Put no faith in a friend, do not let your hope be placed in a relation: keep watch on the doors of your mouth against her who is resting on your breast. |
Micah 7:6 | For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. | For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: a man's enemies are the men of his own household. | For the son puts shame on his father, the daughter goes against her mother and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man's haters are those of his family. |
Micah 7:7 | But as for me, I will look to Yahweh; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. | But as for me, I will look unto Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. | But as for me, I am looking to the Lord; I am waiting for the God of my salvation: the ears of my God will be open to me. |
Micah 7:8 | Don't rejoice against me, my enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Yahweh will be a light to me. | Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: though I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Jehovah shall be a light unto me. | Do not be glad because of my sorrow, O my hater: after my fall I will be lifted up; when I am seated in the dark, the Lord will be a light to me. |
Micah 7:9 | I will bear the indignation of Yahweh, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, [and] I shall see his righteousness. | I will bear the indignation of Jehovah for I have sinned against him until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light; I shall behold his righteousness. | I will undergo the wrath of the Lord, because of my sin against him; till he takes up my cause and does what is right for me: when he makes me come out into the light, I will see his righteousness; |
Micah 7:10 | Then my enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her who said to me, Where is Yahweh your God? My eyes shall see [my desire] on her; now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets. | And mine enemy shall see [it], and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is Jehovah thy God? Mine eyes shall behold her; now shall she be trodden down, as the mire of the streets. | And my hater will see it and be covered with shame; she who said to me, Where is the Lord your God? my eyes will see their desire effected on her, now she will be crushed under foot like the dust of the streets. |
Micah 7:11 | A day for building your walls! in that day shall the decree be far removed. | In the day when thy walls shall be built, on that day shall the established limit recede. | A day for building your walls! in that day will your limits be stretched far and wide. |
Micah 7:12 | In that day shall they come to you from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt even to the River, and from sea to sea, and [from] mountain to mountain. | In that day they shall come to thee from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain. | In that day they will come to you from Assyria and the towns of Egypt, and from Egypt even to the River, and from sea to sea and from mountain to mountain. |
Micah 7:13 | Yet shall the land be desolate because of those who dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings. | But the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings. | But the land will become a waste because of its people, as the fruit of their works. |
Micah 7:14 | Feed your people with your rod, the flock of your heritage, which dwell solitarily, in the forest in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old. | Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine inheritance, dwelling alone in the forest, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old. | Keep your people safe with your rod, the flock of your heritage, living by themselves in the woods in the middle of Carmel: let them get their food in Bashan and Gilead as in the past. |
Micah 7:15 | As in the days of your coming forth out of the land of Egypt will I show to them marvelous things. | As in the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt, will I shew them marvellous things. | As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt, let us see things of wonder. |
Micah 7:16 | The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might; they shall lay their hand on their mouth; their ears shall be deaf. | The nations shall see, and be ashamed for all their might: they shall lay [their] hand upon [their] mouth, their ears shall be deaf. | The nations will see and be shamed because of all their strength; they will put their hands on their mouths, their ears will be stopped. |
Micah 7:17 | They shall lick the dust like a serpent; like crawling things of the earth they shall come trembling out of their close places; they shall come with fear to Yahweh our God, and shall be afraid because of you. | They shall lick dust like the serpent; like crawling things of the earth, they shall come trembling forth from their close places. They shall turn with fear to Jehovah our God, and shall be afraid because of thee. | They will take dust as their food like a snake, like the things which go flat on the earth; they will come shaking with fear out of their secret places: they will come with fear to the Lord our God, full of fear because of you. |
Micah 7:18 | Who is a God like you, that pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? he doesn't retain his anger forever, because he delights in lovingkindness. | Who is a ùGod like unto thee, that forgiveth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in loving-kindness. | Who is a God like you, offering forgiveness for evil-doing and overlooking the sins of the rest of his heritage? he does not keep his wrath for ever, because his delight is in mercy. |
Micah 7:19 | He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities under foot; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. | He will yet again have compassion on us, he will tread under foot our iniquities: and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. | He will again have pity on us; he will put our sins under his feet: and you will send all our sins down into the heart of the sea. |
Micah 7:20 | You will perform the truth to Jacob, [and] the lovingkindness to Abraham, which you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old. | Thou wilt perform truth to Jacob, loving-kindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers, from the days of old. | You will make clear your good faith to Jacob and your mercy to Abraham, as you gave your oath to our fathers from times long past. |
