| Genesis 20:1 | Abraham journeyed from there toward the land of the South, and lived between Kadesh and Shur. He sojourned in Gerar. | And Abraham departed thence towards the south country, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned at Gerar. | Abraham removed from thence to the south country, and dwelt between Cedes and Sur, and sojourned in Gerara. |
| Genesis 20:2 | Abraham said about Sarah his wife, "She is my sister." Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. | And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister. And Abimelech the king of Gerar sent and took Sarah. | And he said of Sara his wife: She is my sister. So Abimelech the king of Oerara sent, and took her. |

Therefore I didn't allow you to touch her. | And God said to him in a dream, I also knew that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart, and I, too, have withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore have I not suffered thee to touch her. | And God said to him: And I know that thou didst it with a sincere heart: and therefore I withheld thee from sinning against me, and I suffered thee not to touch her. |

And in what have I sinned against thee, that thou hast brought on me, and on my kingdom, a great sin? Thou hast done to me deeds that ought not to be done. | And Abimelech called also for Abraham, and said to him: What hast thou done to us? what have we offended thee in, that thou hast brought upon me and upon my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done to us what thou oughtest not to do. |

They will kill me for my wife's sake.' | And Abraham said, Because I said, Surely the fear of God is not in this place, and they will kill me for my wife's sake. | Abraham answered: I thought with myself, saying: Perhaps there is not the fear of God in this place: and they will kill me for the sake of my wife: |
