Mark 15:1Immediately in the morning the chief priests, with the elders and scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.And immediately in the morning the chief priests, having taken counsel with the elders and scribes and the whole sanhedrim, bound Jesus and carried [him] away, and delivered [him] up to Pilate.And straightway in the morning, the chief priests holding a consultation with the ancients and the scribes and the whole council, binding Jesus, led him away, and delivered him to Pilate.
Mark 15:2Pilate asked him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" He answered, "So you say."And Pilate asked him, Art *thou* the King of the Jews? And he answered and said to him, *Thou* sayest.And Pilate asked him: Art thou the king of the Jews? But he answering, saith to him: Thou sayest it.
Mark 15:3The chief priests accused him of many things.And the chief priests accused him urgently.And the chief priests accused him in many things.
Mark 15:4Pilate again asked him, "Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!"And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? See of how many things they bear witness against thee.And Pilate again asked him, saying: Answerest thou nothing? behold in how many things they accuse thee.
Mark 15:5But Jesus made no further answer, so Pilate marveled.But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate marvelled.But Jesus still answered nothing; so that Pilate wondered.
Mark 15:6Now at the feast he used to release to them one prisoner, whom they asked of him.But at [the] feast he released to them one prisoner, whomsoever they begged [of him].Now on the festival day he was wont to release unto them one of the prisoners, whomsoever they demanded.
Mark 15:7There was one called Barabbas, bound with those who had made insurrection, men who in the insurrection had committed murder.Now there was the [person] named Barabbas bound with those who had made insurrection with [him], [and] that had committed murder in the insurrection.And there was one called Barabbas, who was put in prison with some seditious men, who in the sedition had committed murder.
Mark 15:8The multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he always did for them.And the crowd crying out began to beg [that he would do] to them as he had always done.And when the multitude was come up, they began to desire that he would do, as he had ever done unto them.
Mark 15:9Pilate answered them, saying, "Do you you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?"But Pilate answered them saying, Will ye that I release to you the King of the Jews?And Pilate answered them, and said: Will you that I release to you the king of the Jews?
Mark 15:10For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.for he knew that the chief priests had delivered him up through envy.For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him up out of envy.
Mark 15:11But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should release Barabbas to them instead.But the chief priests stirred up the crowd that he might rather release Barabbas to them.But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas to them.
Mark 15:12Pilate again asked them, "What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?"And Pilate answering said to them again, What will ye then that I do [to him] whom ye call King of the Jews?And Pilate again answering, saith to them: What will you then that I do to the king of the Jews?
Mark 15:13They cried out again, "Crucify him!"And they cried out again, Crucify him.But they again cried out: Crucify him.
Mark 15:14Pilate said to them, "Why, what evil has he done?" But they cried out exceedingly, "Crucify him!"And Pilate said to them, What evil then has he done? But they cried out the more urgently, Crucify him.And Pilate saith to them: Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more: Crucify him.
Mark 15:15Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and delivered Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.And Pilate, desirous of contenting the crowd, released to them Barabbas, and delivered up Jesus, when he had scourged him, that he might be crucified.And so Pilate being willing to satisfy the people, released to them Barabbas, and delivered up Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
Mark 15:16The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort.And the soldiers led him away into the court which is [called the] praetorium, and they call together the whole band.And the soldiers led him away into the court of the palace, and they called together the whole band:
Mark 15:17They clothed him with purple, and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him.And they clothe him with purple, and bind round on him a crown of thorns which they had plaited.And they clothe him with purple, and platting a crown of thorns, they put it upon him.
Mark 15:18They began to salute him, "Hail, King of the Jews!"And they began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!And they began to salute him: Hail, king of the Jews.
Mark 15:19They struck his head with a reed, and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him.And they struck his head with a reed, and spat on him, and, bending the knee, did him homage.And they struck his head with a reed: and they did spit on him. And bowing their knees, they adored him.
Mark 15:20When they had mocked him, they took the purple off of him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him.And when they had mocked him, they took the purple off him, and put his own clothes on him; and they lead him out that they may crucify him.And after they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own garments on him, and they led him out to crucify him.
Mark 15:21They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them, that he might bear his cross.And they compel to go [with them] a certain passer-by, Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, the father of Alexander and Rufus, that he might carry his cross.And they forced one Simon a Cyrenian who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and of Rufus, to take up his cross.
Mark 15:22They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, "The place of a skull."And they bring him to the place [called] Golgotha, which, being interpreted, is Place of a skull.And they bring him into the place called Golgotha, which being interpreted is, The place of Calvary.
Mark 15:23They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn't take it.And they offered him wine [to drink] medicated with myrrh; but he did not take [it].And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh; but he took it not.
Mark 15:24Crucifying him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots on them, what each should take.And having crucified him, they part his clothes amongst [themselves], casting lots on them, what each one should take.And crucifying him, they divided his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.
Mark 15:25It was the third hour, and they crucified him.And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
Mark 15:26The superscription of his accusation was written over him, "THE KING OF THE JEWS."And the superscription of what he was accused of was written up: The King of the Jews.And the inscription of his cause was written over: THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Mark 15:27With him they crucified two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left.And with him they crucify two robbers, one on his right hand, and one on his left.And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.
Mark 15:28The scripture was fulfilled, which says, "He was numbered with transgressors."[And the scripture was fulfilled which says, And he was reckoned with the lawless.]And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith: And with the wicked he was reputed.
Mark 15:29Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, "Ha! You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days,And they that passed by reviled him, shaking their heads, and saying, Aha, thou that destroyest the temple and buildest it in three days,And they that passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying: Vah, thou that destroyest the temple of God, and in three days buildest it up again;
Mark 15:30save yourself, and come down from the cross!"save thyself, and descend from the cross.Save thyself, coming down from the cross.
Mark 15:31Likewise, also the chief priests mocking among themselves with the scribes said, "He saved others. He can't save himself.In like manner the chief priests also, with the scribes, mocking with one another, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save.In like manner also the chief priests mocking, said with the scribes one to another: He saved others; himself he cannot save.
Mark 15:32Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him." Those who were crucified with him reproached him.Let the Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and may believe. And they that were crucified with him reproached him.Let Christ the king of Israel come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
Mark 15:33When the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.And when [the] sixth hour was come, there came darkness over the whole land until [the] ninth hour;And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole earth until the ninth hour.
Mark 15:34At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is, being interpreted, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"and at the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, [saying], Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?And at the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying: Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabacthani? Which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Mark 15:35Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, "Behold, he calls Elijah."And some of those who stood by, when they heard [it], said, Behold, he calls for Elias.And some of the standers by hearing, said: Behold he calleth Elias.
Mark 15:36One ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying, "Let him be. Let's see whether Elijah comes to take him down."And one, running and filling a sponge with vinegar, fixed it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone, let us see if Elias comes to take him down.And one running and filling a sponge with vinegar, and putting it upon a reed, gave him to drink, saying: Stay, let us see if Elias come to take him down.
Mark 15:37Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and gave up the spirit.And Jesus, having uttered a loud cry, expired.And Jesus having cried out with a loud voice, gave up the ghost.
Mark 15:38The veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom.And the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom.And the veil of the temple was rent in two, from the top to the bottom.
Mark 15:39When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, "Truly this man was the Son of God!"And the centurion who stood by over against him, when he saw that he had expired having thus cried out, said, Truly this man was Son of God.And the centurion who stood over against him, seeing that crying out in this manner he had given up the ghost, said: Indeed this man was the son of God.
Mark 15:40There were also women watching from afar, among whom were both Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;And there were women also looking on from afar off, among whom were both Mary of Magdala, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;And there were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joseph, and Salome:
Mark 15:41who, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and served him; and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him and ministered to him; and many others who came up with him to Jerusalem.Who also when he was in Galilee followed him, and ministered to him, and many other women that came up with him to Jerusalem.
Mark 15:42When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath,And when it was already evening, since it was [the] preparation, that is, [the day] before a sabbath,And when evening was now come, (because it was the Parasceve, that is, the day before the sabbath,)
Mark 15:43Joseph of Arimathaea, a member of the council of honorable estate, who also himself was looking for the kingdom of God, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus' body.Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable councillor, who also himself was awaiting the kingdom of God, coming, emboldened himself and went in to Pilate and begged the body of Jesus.Joseph of Arimathea, a noble counsellor, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, came and went in boldly to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
Mark 15:44Pilate marveled if he were already dead: and calling to him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead for a while.And Pilate wondered if he were already dead; and having called to [him] the centurion, he inquired of him if he had long died.But Pilate wondered that he should be already dead. And sending for the centurion, he asked him if he were already dead.
Mark 15:45When he learned it from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.And when he knew from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.And when he had understood it by the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
Mark 15:46He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.And having bought fine linen, [and] having taken him down, he swathed him in the fine linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was cut out of rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the sepulchre.And Joseph buying fine linen, and taking him down, wrapped him up in the fine linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewed out of a rock. And he rolled a stone to the door of the sepulchre.
Mark 15:47Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Joses, saw where he was laid.And Mary of Magdala and Mary the [mother] of Joses saw where he was put.And Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of Joseph, beheld where he was laid.
