Luke 22:1Now the feast of unleavened bread drew near, which is called the Passover.Now the feast of unleavened bread, which [is] called the passover, drew nigh,Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
Luke 22:2The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him: for they feared the people.
Luke 22:3Satan entered into Judas, who was called Iscariot, being numbered with the twelve.And Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariote, being of the number of the twelve.Then Satan entered into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
Luke 22:4He went away, and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.And he went away and spoke with the chief priests and captains as to how he should deliver him up to them.And he went, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him to them.
Luke 22:5They were glad, and agreed to give him money.And they were rejoiced, and agreed to give him money.And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
Luke 22:6He consented, and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.And he came to an agreement to do it, and sought an opportunity to deliver him up to them away from the crowd.And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him to them in the absence of the multitude.
Luke 22:7The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.And the day of unleavened bread came, in which the passover was to be killed.Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
Luke 22:8He sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat."And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare the passover for us, that we may eat [it].And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare for us the passover, that we may eat.
Luke 22:9They said to him, "Where do you want us to prepare?"But they said to him, Where wilt thou that we prepare [it]?And they said to him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
Luke 22:10He said to them, "Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.And he said to them, Behold, as ye enter into the city a man will meet you, carrying an earthen pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goes in;And he said to them, Behold, when ye have entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth.
Luke 22:11Tell the master of the house, 'The Teacher says to you, "Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?"'and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher says to thee, Where is the guest-chamber where I may eat the passover with my disciples?And ye shall say to the master of the house, The Master saith to thee, Where is the guest-chamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
Luke 22:12He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there."And *he* will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.And he will show you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
Luke 22:13They went, found things as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.And having gone they found it as he had said to them; and they prepared the passover.And they went and found as he had said to them: and they made ready the passover.
Luke 22:14When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve apostles.And when the hour was come, he placed himself at table, and the [twelve] apostles with him.And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
Luke 22:15He said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,And he said to them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer.And he said to them, I have earnestly desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer.
Luke 22:16for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God."For I say unto you, that I will not eat any more at all of it until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.For I say to you, I will not any more eat of it until it shall be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Luke 22:17He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, "Take this, and share it among yourselves,And having received a cup, when he had given thanks he said, Take this and divide it among yourselves.And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves.
Luke 22:18for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God comes."For I say unto you, that I will not drink at all of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God come.For I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
Luke 22:19He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me."And having taken a loaf, when he had given thanks, he broke [it], and gave [it] to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.And he took bread, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luke 22:20He took the cup in like manner after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, that which is poured out for you.In like manner also the cup, after having supped, saying, This cup [is] the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Luke 22:21But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.Moreover, behold, the hand of him that delivers me up [is] with me on the table;But behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
Luke 22:22The Son of Man indeed goes, as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!"and the Son of man indeed goes as it is determined, but woe unto that man by whom he is delivered up.And truly the Son of man goeth as it was determined: but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!
Luke 22:23They began to question among themselves, which of them it was that would do this thing.And *they* began to question together among themselves who then it could be of them who was about to do this.And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
Luke 22:24There arose also a contention among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.And there was also a strife among them which of them should be held to be [the] greatest.And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
Luke 22:25He said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called 'benefactors.'And he said to them, The kings of the nations rule over them, and they that exercise authority over them are called benefactors.And he said to them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them, are called benefactors.
Luke 22:26But not so with you. But one who is the greater among you, let him become as the lesser, and one who is governing, as one who serves.But *ye* [shall] not [be] thus; but let the greater among you be as the younger, and the leader as he that serves.But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
Luke 22:27For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn't it he who sits at the table? But I am in the midst of you as one who serves.For which [is] greater, he that is at table or he that serves? [Is] not he that is at table? But *I* am in the midst of you as the one that serves.For which is greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at table? but I am among you as he that serveth.
Luke 22:28But you are those who have continued with me in my temptations.But *ye* are they who have persevered with me in my temptations.Ye are they who have continued with me in my temptations.
Luke 22:29I appoint to you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed to me,And *I* appoint unto you, as my Father has appointed unto me, a kingdom,And I appoint to you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed to me;
Luke 22:30that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Luke 22:31The Lord said, "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat,And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to have you, to sift [you] as wheat;And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
Luke 22:32but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn't fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers."but *I* have besought for thee that thy faith fail not; and *thou*, when once thou hast been restored, confirm thy brethren.But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not; and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Luke 22:33He said to him, "Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!"And he said to him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.And he said to him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee both into prison, and to death.
Luke 22:34He said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today, before you deny that you know me three times."And he said, I tell thee, Peter, [the] cock shall not crow to-day before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock will not crow this day, before thou wilt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
Luke 22:35He said to them, "When I sent you out without purse, and wallet, and shoes, did you lack anything?" They said, "Nothing."And he said to them, When I sent you without purse and scrip and sandals, did ye lack anything? And they said, Nothing.And he said to them, When I sent you without purse, and sack, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
Luke 22:36Then he said to them, "But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.He said therefore to them, But now he that has a purse let him take [it], in like manner also a scrip, and he that has none let him sell his garment and buy a sword;Then said he to them, But now he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his sack: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
Luke 22:37For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: 'He was counted with the lawless.' For that which concerns me has an end."for I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned with [the] lawless: for also the things concerning me have an end.For I say to you, that this which is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
Luke 22:38They said, "Lord, behold, here are two swords." He said to them, "That is enough."And they said, Lord, behold here are two swords. And he said to them, It is enough.And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said to them, It is enough.
Luke 22:39He came out, and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him.And going forth he went according to his custom to the mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed him.And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
Luke 22:40When he was at the place, he said to them, "Pray that you don't enter into temptation."And when he was at the place he said to them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.And when he was at the place, he said to them, Pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
Luke 22:41He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and he knelt down and prayed,And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and having knelt down he prayed,And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed.
Luke 22:42saying, "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done."saying, Father, if thou wilt remove this cup from me: but then, not my will, but thine be done.Saying, Father, if thou art willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine be done.
Luke 22:43An angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.And an angel appeared to him from heaven strengthening him.And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
Luke 22:44Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.And being in conflict he prayed more intently. And his sweat became as great drops of blood, falling down upon the earth.And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground.
Luke 22:45When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping because of grief,And rising up from his prayer, coming to the disciples, he found them sleeping from grief.And when he arose from prayer, and had come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow:
Luke 22:46and said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation."And he said to them, Why sleep ye? rise up and pray that ye enter not into temptation.And said to them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
Luke 22:47While he was still speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went in front of them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him.As he was yet speaking, behold, a crowd, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went on before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss him.And while he was yet speaking, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss him.
Luke 22:48But Jesus said to him, "Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?"And Jesus said to him, Judas, deliverest thou up the Son of man with a kiss?But Jesus said to him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
Luke 22:49When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?"And they who were around him, seeing what was going to follow, said [to him], Lord, shall we smite with [the] sword?When they who were about him, saw what would follow, they said to him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
Luke 22:50A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.And a certain one from among them smote the bondman of the high priest and took off his right ear.And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
Luke 22:51But Jesus answered, "Let me at least do this" and he touched his ear, and healed him.And Jesus answering said, Suffer thus far; and having touched his ear, he healed him.And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
Luke 22:52Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him, "Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?And Jesus said to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders, who were come against him, Have ye come out as against a robber with swords and sticks?Then Jesus said to the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders who had come to him, Are ye come out as against a thief, with swords and staffs?
Luke 22:53When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn't stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness."When I was day by day with you in the temple ye did not stretch out your hands against me; but this is your hour and the power of darkness.When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
Luke 22:54They seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest's house. But Peter followed from a distance.And having laid hold on him, they led him [away], and they led [him] into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed afar off.Then they took him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed at a distance.
Luke 22:55When they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.And they having lit a fire in the midst of the court and sat down together, Peter sat among them.And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
Luke 22:56A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, "This man also was with him."And a certain maid, having seen him sitting by the light, and having fixed her eyes upon him, said, And this [man] was with him.But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
Luke 22:57He denied Jesus, saying, "Woman, I don't know him."But he denied [him], saying, Woman, I do not know him.And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
Luke 22:58After a little while someone else saw him, and said, "You also are one of them!" But Peter answered, "Man, I am not!"And after a short time another seeing him said, And *thou* art of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
Luke 22:59After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, "Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!"And after the lapse of about one hour another stoutly maintained it, saying, In truth this [man] also was with him, for also he is a Galilaean.And about the space of one hour after, another confidently affirmed, saying, In truth this man also was with him; for he is a Galilean.
Luke 22:60But Peter said, "Man, I don't know what you are talking about!" Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, [the] cock crew.And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, the cock crowed.
Luke 22:61The Lord turned, and looked at Peter. Peter remembered the Lord's word, how he said to him, "Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times."And the Lord, turning round, looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him, Before [the] cock crow thou shalt deny me thrice.And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, Before the cock shall crow, thou wilt deny me thrice.
Luke 22:62He went out, and wept bitterly.And Peter, going forth without, wept bitterly.And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
Luke 22:63The men who held Jesus mocked him and beat him.And the men who held him mocked him, beating [him];And the men that held Jesus, mocked him, and smote him.
Luke 22:64Having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, "Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?"and covering him up, asked him saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck thee?And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
Luke 22:65They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.And they said many other injurious things to him.And many other things blasphemously they spoke against him.
Luke 22:66As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,And when it was day, the elderhood of the people, both [the] chief priests and scribes, were gathered together, and led him into their council, saying,And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people, and the chief priests, and the scribes came together, and led him into their council,
Luke 22:67"If you are the Christ, tell us." But he said to them, "If I tell you, you won't believe,If *thou* art the Christ, tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, ye will not at all believe;Saying, Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, ye will not believe.
Luke 22:68and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.and if I should ask [you], ye would not answer me at all, nor let me go;And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
Luke 22:69From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God."but henceforth shall the Son of man be sitting on the right hand of the power of God.Hereafter will the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
Luke 22:70They all said, "Are you then the Son of God?" He said to them, "You say it, because I AM."And they all said, *Thou* then art the Son of God? And he said to them, *Ye* say that I am.Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said to them, Ye say that I am.
Luke 22:71They said, "Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth!"And they said, What need have we any more of witness, for we have heard ourselves out of his mouth?And they said, What need have we of any further testimony? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.
