Mark 3:1He entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had his hand withered.And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was there a man having his hand dried up.At another time, when He went to the synagogue, there was a man there with one arm shrivelled up.
Mark 3:2They watched him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him.And they watched him if he would heal him on the sabbath, that they might accuse him.They closely watched Him to see whether He would cure him on the Sabbath so as to have a charge to bring against Him.
Mark 3:3He said to the man who had his hand withered, "Stand up."And he says to the man who had his hand dried up, Rise up [and come] into the midst."Come forward," said He to the man with the shrivelled arm.
Mark 3:4He said to them, "Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?" But they were silent.And he says to them, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill? But they were silent.Then He asked them, "Are we allowed to do good on the Sabbath, or to do evil? to save a life, or to destroy one?" They remained silent.
Mark 3:5When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other.And looking round upon them with anger, distressed at the hardening of their heart, he says to the man, Stretch out thy hand. And he stretched [it] out, and his hand was restored.Grieved and indignant at the hardening of their hearts, He looked round on them with anger, and said to the man, "Stretch out your arm." He stretched it out, and the arm was completely restored.
Mark 3:6The Pharisees went out, and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.And the Pharisees going out straightway with the Herodians took counsel against him, how they might destroy him.But no sooner had the Pharisees left the synagogue than they held a consultation with the Herodians against Jesus, to devise some means of destroying Him.
Mark 3:7Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples, and a great multitude followed him from Galilee, from Judea,And Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea; and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,Accordingly Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the Lake, and a vast crowd of people from Galilee followed Him;
Mark 3:8from Jerusalem, from Idumaea, beyond the Jordan, and those from around Tyre and Sidon. A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him.and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea and beyond the Jordan; and they of around Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, having heard what things he did, came to him.and from Judaea and Jerusalem and Idumaea and from beyond the Jordan and from the district of Tyre and Sidon there came to Him a vast crowd, hearing of all that He was doing.
Mark 3:9He spoke to his disciples, that a little boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they wouldn't press on him.And he spoke to his disciples, in order that a little ship should wait upon him on account of the crowd, that they might not press upon him.So He gave directions to His disciples to keep a small boat in constant attendance on Him because of the throng to prevent their crushing Him.
Mark 3:10For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him.For he healed many, so that they beset him that they might touch him, as many as had plagues.For He had cured many of the people, so that all who had any ailments pressed upon Him, to touch Him.
Mark 3:11The unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, "You are the Son of God!"And the unclean spirits, when they beheld him, fell down before him, and cried saying, *Thou* art the Son of God.And the foul spirits, whenever they saw Him, threw themselves down at His feet, screaming out: "You are the Son of God."
Mark 3:12He sternly warned them that they should not make him known.And he rebuked them much, that they might not make him manifest.But He many a time checked them, forbidding them to say who He was.
Mark 3:13He went up into the mountain, and called to himself whom he wanted, and they went to him.And he goes up into the mountain, and calls whom he himself would, and they went to him.Then He went up the hill; and those whom He Himself chose He called, and they came to Him.
Mark 3:14He appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to preach,And he appointed twelve that they might be with him, and that he might send them to preach,He appointed twelve of them, that they might be with Him, and that He might also send them to proclaim His Message,
Mark 3:15and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:and to have power [to heal diseases, and] to cast out demons.with authority to expel the demons.
Mark 3:16Simon, to whom he gave the name Peter;And he gave to Simon the surname of Peter;These twelve were Simon (to whom He gave the surname of Peter),
Mark 3:17James the son of Zebedee; John, the brother of James, and them he surnamed Boanerges, which is, Sons of thunder;and James the [son] of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, and he gave them the surname of Boanerges, that is, Sons of thunder;James the son of Zabdi and John the brother of James (these two He surnamed Boanerges, that is `Sons of Thunder'),
Mark 3:18Andrew; Philip; Bartholomew; Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot;and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the [son] of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean,Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Cananaean,
Mark 3:19and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. He came into a house.and Judas Iscariote, who also delivered him up. And they come to [the] house.and Judas Iscariot, the man who also betrayed Him.
Mark 3:20The multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.And again a crowd comes together, so that they cannot even eat bread.And He went into a house. But again the crowd assembled, so that there was no opportunity for them even to snatch a meal.
Mark 3:21When his friends heard it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, "He is insane."And his relatives having heard [of it] went out to lay hold on him, for they said, He is out of his mind.Hearing of this, His relatives came to seize Him by force, for they said, "He is out of his mind."
Mark 3:22The scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He has Beelzebul," and, "By the prince of the demons he casts out the demons."And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebub, and, By the prince of the demons he casts out demons.The Scribes, too, who had come down from Jerusalem said, "He has Baal-zebul in him; and it is by the power of the Prince of the demons that he expels the demons."
Mark 3:23He called them to him, and said to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan?And having called them to [him], he said to them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?So He called them to Him, and using figurative language He appealed to them, saying, "How is it possible for Satan to expel Satan?
Mark 3:24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.And if a kingdom has become divided against itself, that kingdom cannot subsist.For if civil war breaks out in a kingdom, nothing can make that kingdom last;
Mark 3:25If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.And if a house has become divided against itself, that house cannot subsist.and if a family splits into parties, that family cannot continue.
Mark 3:26If Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he can't stand, but has an end.And if Satan rise up against himself, and is divided, he cannot subsist, but has an end.So if Satan has risen in arms and has made war upon himself, stand he cannot, but meets his end.
Mark 3:27But no one can enter into the house of the strong man to plunder, unless he first binds the strong man; and then he will plunder his house.But no one can, having entered into his house, plunder the goods of the strong [man] unless he first bind the strong [man], and then he will plunder his house.Nay, no one can go into a strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.
Mark 3:28Most assuredly I tell you, all their sins will be forgiven to the sons of men, and their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme;Verily I say unto you, that all sins shall be forgiven to the sons of men, and all the injurious speeches [with] which they may speak injuriously;In solemn truth I tell you that all their sins may be pardoned to the sons of men, and all their blasphemies, however they may have blasphemed;
Mark 3:29but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin"but whosoever shall speak injuriously against the Holy Spirit, to eternity has no forgiveness; but lies under the guilt of an everlasting sin;but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, he remains for ever unabsolved: he is guilty of a sin of the Ages."
Mark 3:30because they said, "He has an unclean spirit."because they said, He has an unclean spirit.This was because they said, "He is possessed by a foul spirit."
Mark 3:31His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him.And his brethren and his mother come, and standing without sent to him calling him.By this time His mother and His brothers arrive, and standing outside they send a message to Him to call Him.
Mark 3:32A multitude was sitting around him, and they told him, "Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you."And a crowd sat around him. And they said to him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren seek thee without.Now a crowd was sitting round Him; so they tell Him, "Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, inquiring for you."
Mark 3:33He answered them, "Who are my mother and my brothers?"And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother or my brethren?"Who are my mother and my brothers?" He replied.
Mark 3:34Looking around at those who sat around him, he said, "Behold, my mother and my brothers!And looking around in a circuit at those that were sitting around him, he says, Behold my mother and my brethren:And, fixing His eyes on the people who were sitting round Him in a circle, He said,
Mark 3:35For whoever may do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."for whosoever shall do the will of God, *he* is my brother, and sister, and mother."Here are my mother and my brothers. For wherever there is one who has been obedient to God, there is my brother my sister and my mother."
