| Mark 14:1 | It was now two days before the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might sieze him by deception, and kill him. | Now the passover and the [feast of] unleavened bread was after two days. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might seize him by subtlety and kill him. | And the passover and the unleavened food were after two days, and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how, by guile, having taken hold of him, they might kill him; |
| Mark 14:2 | For they said, "Not during the feast, because there might be a riot of the people." | For they said, Not in the feast, lest perhaps there be a tumult of the people. | and they said, `Not in the feast, lest there shall be a tumult of the people.` |
| Mark 14:3 | While he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at the table, there came a woman having an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard very costly. | Mark 14:5 | For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor."
